We stopped in for lunch in a Saturday afternoon. We did not have a reservation and were sat quickly. The resturant was noce ans clean. Our waiter was extremely nice and brought a round of waters while we looked through both the drink and food menu. There are tvs around the area we sat with a few sports games playing. The service was not consistent, the waiter, Brandon, had another table next to us whom he was diligent with and brought things promptly. My table had to wait 15 mins for a refill then he forgot to bring the refill. When he brought the check he didn't bring a bag even though we had multiple boxes. And I believe a fine dining establishment these things should be bare minimum. I order the order sampler and was so excited, only to get salty barely edible oysters. With the bread it wasn't so bad and The Rockefeller was the best. But whatever has that bacon and cheese, you need to cut back because I didn't even taste the oyster in there. Enhancement is the name of the game in the kitchen, not abolishment. The Acadiana wasn't too bad, tasted like Mac and cheese with a filet of fried catfish on top. Their paces in Crowley & Scott are perennially excellent; but the Caffery/Broussard location's food has just never measured-up. We visited Fezzo's on a recommendation from a local. Honestly, I don't care much for this type of cuisine. However, Lafayette is located in the heart of French Louisiana (the Acadiana Region) and is known for Cajun and Creole cuisine. I keep trying different restaurants to keep an open mind, although I feel like my opinion will remain unchanged. We ordered the Fezzo's Oyster Sampler to taste all the flavors. The classic charbroiled oysters and Rockefeller oysters were chef's kiss. However, the Monterey Jack's flavors didn't mesh well and neither of us cared for it. This was supposed to be an appetizer but it arrived at the same time as the entrees. We also ordered Fezzo's Cajun Trio and chose the chicken gumbo, shrimp & corn bisque and red beans & sausage. The chicken gumbo had a "burnt" flavor to it. Lil Dizzy's Cafe in NOLA does gumbo better. The shrimp & corn bisque was tasty but the red beans & sausage and pistolette was bomb! The fish tacos were overly salty. That's the only thing I could focus on since the first bite. Not one to waste, especially in this economy, we forced ourselves to eat them. I liked the crispiness of the taco itself but the salty flavor of the fried fish was just too overpowering. Surprisingly, the onion rings were also disappointing. They were soggy AND cold, like the dish was waiting for a while before being served. The onion rings at Burger Inn in Oakdale (served hot and fresh!) was superb compared to Fezzo's version. We are from Texas & are traveling through Louisiana and hit the GOLD MINE!!! Fezzo's was absolutely delicious. We started with the house margaritas (buy one get one FREE on Fridays!), appetizer sampler platter and 3lb of amazing crawfish. We ordered them medium-spice and they were the perfect amount. The crawfish were also of great size - having lots of yummy meat inside!!! We finished off with an amazing bread pudding (which was FREE since it was our first time dining in!!). First time here on the way back to Colorado Fezzo's was recommended by the Homewood Suites front desk. Don't be dissuaded by the full parking lot - the place is huge! Cajun Crawfish dip was excellent - very flavorful with excellent warmed pita bread. My husband had the grilled snapper with crawfish étouffée. I had the Fezzo Ultimate Potato with crawfish étouffée over it. The food was excellent. Service was good. But we didn't have time to enjoy the appetizer before the side salads came and then a minute after that the entrées! So very efficient and fast food bit no time to enjoy. This is a server education issue (we had restaurants, too) to wait a bit after the salads come out to fire the entrées. It was Friday night and I get wanting to turn tables over but I felt like I was being rushed. We tried the bread pudding dessert and it was very very good. I almost cut the rating down to 4 stars because of the timing of the food, but the food was so good I added the star back! read more

I was with a party if 8 and we were seating promptly upon arrival and was provided great service by our server Mia. I have placed Fezzos in Scott multiple times on the way to Texas and back and the parking lot is always full so I took a random drive to try it out. We ended up at the Broussard location and it was just as busy in the parking lot even with all the limitations going on. We were quoted a 25 min wait but didn't wait too long. Security is on site and there were a lot of parties and celebrations going on. Our waitress was prompt and patient as we decided to take a minute to figure out what we wanted to try. We got the boudin and I wasn't too big of fan. It was kind of fried soft which gave a little weird texture but they weren't bad just not what I'm used to. My husband got oysters and loved the crawfish ones. They have a oyster sampler which he was a big fan of and really wish more restaurants offered that option. The grilled catfish is also really good. They were overcooked and cooked in old oil, the taste was rancid. How can a cajun restaurant screw up crawfish etouffeé? Easy the cook at Fezzo's did it. The etouffeé was something I've never seen or tasted. The crawfish was invisible they were tee tiny, the sauce tasted like it came out of a can. It was pasty. Had a couple of bites and had to stop or get ill. What a terrible waste of what is a nice looking restaurant and while I didn't visit kitchen, I can imagine a nice facility. I come here a lot and almost always get charbroiled oysters and gumbo but they were out of oysters this time so I got the blackened redfish and added crawfish & tasso sauce and it was phenomenal. I've had several other menu items and liked everything I've tried but the oysters are next level. This place is really nice inside and the wait staff is always great too. The only thing I've had that I did not like is the Old Fashioned but I'm not taking points off for a mixed drink I mean this is a cajun restaurant not a bourbon bar. He was stretched a little thin, but he did a nice job. The appetizers were brought out quickly and our entrees were brought out in order of how they were ordered. What makes up for food are the drinks and the great service. If there are any issues, they address it immediately. Love how they handle big groups of people and don't mess up separate orders. This week I got a loaded festival potato. I've never seen etoufee look that white. There was literally no flavor and I am not fond of having to use their fezzos seasoning after the fact for my food. I had a lovely girls' night dinner at this location. It is huge with a lot of seating but still gets filled, so make reservations. We started with a drink, we all got the Spool. It was very sweet, but "effective", at least for me it was lol I'll post pictures, but I don't have a taste description for everything. I had: Charbroiled oysters - lots of garlic and seasonings, good size oysters and delicious. Served with grilled, buttery garlic bread, yum! Gumbo - def reminds me of some gumbo made at home with the broth being on the thinner side. I had to season it myself to make it perfect, no complaints otherwise. I had a taste of my friend's Catfish Acadia (pasta dish) and it was so good! Amazing creamy sauce. She also had cauliflower mash which will make you ditch mashed potatoes altogether. It's made with bacon so...yeah. Now the kitchen/bar gave us a few problems. The bar made me and my friend fully dressed drinks but then brought my cousin her drink with no fruits on it. She asked to make it like ours and he brings it back with an orange slice....then another guy brought it back to the bar again to make it look like ours (although the citrus was cut thick and rushed). As picky as that might sound, I'd be ticked too if my drink wasn't beautiful like everyone else's...why not save the time and just make it all equally? Another issue was my friend ordering the cauliflower mash and they brought her a side of grilled cauliflower florets. She almost didn't ask the waiter for the right thing, but she did and the cauliflower mash turned out to be AMAZING so we're all glad she did lol It's just kind of upsetting because women like us are viewed as needy in restaurants yet things happen that would make anyone say "hey this isn't right". Food was alright, service good. I ordered the catfish with pasta. I didn't care for the tiny sewer shrimp that was in the sauce. They don't devein them which is terrible. We ordered 2 kids meals for $9 each. The fish one was good, the grilled cheese was greasy and disgusting. We asked if we could change out the side and the server said yes. So we paid $13.49 for EACH kids meal. That's RIDICULOUS . We should have been told it was an up charge AND we wouldn't be getting the original side of fries. Oh Fezzo's. How I do I even start? This place is off the charts delicious consistently every time I have dined here. Here's what I've indulged in: Seafood Salad-I get this a lot and it's always overflowing with seafood (shrimp and crawfish-add crab optional but expensive at $6). It is huge and I can never finish it in one sitting. If you're dining in and have some left, take it to go-it's just as good later since everything is just so fresh. Spinach and Artichoke dip-This is a no brainer if you love this appetizer like I do, but what sets this apart from other restaurants that serve this is the warm pita bread and spices they serve it with. Boiled Crawfish-During crawfish season I tried many a restaurant's boiled crawfish and Feezo's hands down wins for spicy crawfish. No contest. Charbroiled Oysters-Feezo's has their very own oyster room with a window so you can watch your oysters being cooked. Very cool, very entertaining and won't disappoint you once they reach your table. Bread Pudding. If you go for nothing else, go for the bread pudding. It is the best thing on the menu in my opinion and worth every single calorie. You simply must try it, even if you share it.
