I am traveling through New York and came upon this wonderful yarn shop in Watkins Glen. I can't say enough of how kind and supportive and helpful. The ladies are that work at the shop. I found lots of beautiful yarn and picked up a couple of new projects. I was working on a pair of socks and came across questions regarding the pattern, I called the shop to see if they could help me out with the instructions ... Ann answer the phone and was so helpful and getting me in the right direction so I could continue knitting my socks. She even answered the phone when the shop was closed. I visited this yarn store while on vacation in Ithaca. The selection of local yarns was nice, but the other yarns available were standard. The woman working was very kind and even offered to send me directions for a vest she was wearing that I commented on. Worth a visit! read more

I stopped into the shop while my husband was on a business call while we were spending the night in Watkins Glen. I was so warmly welcomed! Not only did the ladies there unwrap multiple skeins of yarn for me to check out, they invited me to pull up a chair and knit, checked out my project and offered me a ride back to my B & B. read more

I love this shop. The customer care is outstanding. They don't hover but they are always there when you have a question. They have some incredible yarns of all types and all kinds of pattern ideas to get you thinking. Coming down from Rochester is a quick trip and a great little vacation for the afternoon. I love this yarn shop in the heart of Watkins Glen. The staff is so knowledgeable and helpful. They carry a large assortment of yarns in all fibers and weights, plus spinning and weaving needs. You should check out their Class schedule and Events during your stay. I always include a class if I have time. read more

I loved this shop until I purchased a defective skein of yarn and received no refund or credit for it. It was described as mink yarn and cost me approx $30 for one skein. After I purchased it I received a notice saying it was being recalled because it wasn't really mink. I brought it back and was told that I had received the correct yarn and the recalled yarn was a different yarn. I was satisfied with this explanation and was not in any rush to make the shawl that I had intended to make with it. A number of months later I made the yarn into a ball to knit with and noticed that it literally fell apart with the slightest effort. I brought it back to the store and the person there that day was surprised to see it pull apart when I showed it to her. She called the owner and instead of at least offering me a store credit, gave me the name and number of the company from where it came. As if I stand a chance in heck of getting anywhere with them. I am very disgruntled and disappointed with the customer service or more, the lack of customer service I received. If I can at least get a store credit I will reverse my very low rating for this shop. read more
