I was in a few days ago and the owner helped me find a yarn that I needed and spent over 15 min doing that.

Beware, online reservation system does not work! I booked a massage on March 26 for my trip to…read moreArizona only to show up to be told they were booked. This after receiving a email confirmation. They told me they had been trying to reach me, but when I went through my phone there were no Prescott numbers and no messages. Very disappointing!

Very poor communication skills, and that's important for a school. Was I looking to attend massage…read moreschool? No, but I applied for two different job openings and never heard back from them. Oh, wait, I did hear back from them and had one interview with them. Where I was labeled with a nickname and mocked. I found it entertaining, yet very unprofessional, especially coming from two campus directors. 'Mr. Persistent' was my nickname, and during the interview (In person and via video with Laura, the campus director down in Mesa,) was mocked because I called them back a couple of times to see if they were interested in my skills for their job openings. (Thus Mr. Persistent, as they were to lazy to contact me.) Wow. Come to school here, get a nickname AND get mocked! I'm sure that's what you want from a school of higher education and their administration! Well, at least the mocking was to my face and not behind my back. Laughing. This campus director down in Mesa should be terminated immediately, in my opinion. Creating nicknames for people and mocking them sounds like a lawsuit just waiting to happen. Regardless, to this day, I've yet to hear back from anyone in regards to the two positions I applied for. Guess 'Mr. Persistent' wasn't persistent enough! Don't throw away thousands of dollars at a school where the administrators may nickname you and mock you. Unfortunately (I think) this is the only massage school in the area, so you're kind of stuck.

I made an apt for my niece & I for mani-pedi's. My niece had a very good technician as she was…read morepolished & professional. I wasn't so lucky. My tech. was sloppy, unprofessional, unkept, and provided poor services. Her nails weren't polished (just natural) which is fine, but they were dirty. It could have been hair dye underneath, but they looked dirty. ??? We had pedicures first. They sat on the floor!!! I've been to many schools for treatments & NEVER had my tech on the floor. It was very uncomfortable for me to put my feet on her knee - as well as tacky. The whole experience was "low rent"! If you were at home with a friend, maybe you'd sit on the floor - but this is supposed to be a school teaching them to behave professionally!!?? The massage part was pathetic. On to the manicures.... They rolled up the tables to us - never plugging in the lamps to see properly & do a good job. Every time she leaned in to work on a nail her shadow made it dark & hard to see - hence my very poor nail polish job. It's terrible! She didn't dress the table properly - my nieces tech put the towels in her table set up as instructed providing good support for her clients wrists during the service. I had to ask for a towel to fold up under my wrist for proper support. My tech talked a lot - and when she talked she stopped working. Very uncomfortable & awkward - although I think she was oblivious to how I felt. She talked so much that she skipped the massage. As she started applying polish I looked over at another person & she was getting a hand & arm massage and I said to my tech - isn't a massage included with a manicure? Ugh!!! I also was very dissaopointed in the teacher. She never inspected her work or asked me how my experience was and if I was satisfied or had any feed back. What's going on here? Not much teaching on professional behavior & appearance! I will not go back. I'm sticking with Empire on Goodwin St.! I also asked the technicians about facials. I asked if they did European or Spa facials with the steam, etc., etc. They didn't know. I've looked on their website after my visit & see that they do have them along with many other services I would have liked with my mani-pedi, but wasn't offered or informed of. Such as a more moisturizing manicure for the same price, nail art - that I even mentioned to my tech that I liked but since she said nothing I assumed they didn't offer it. It was just a bad experience and the best way to describe it was very low rent. I've had wonderful, luxurious treatments at Empire & other schools over the years. This place needs to improve tremendously!

I came here to have my hair dyed and to have a pedicure. I've never had a problem in the past…read morehaving it professionally dyed, done at home, or done at a school. The student doing my services seemed a little unsure even when I pointed out the exact shade I wanted in the book. She had consultations with her instructors several times. The end result wasn't even close to good. Many of the areas had almost no color change, with some chunks showing some color change, but no where near what I had asked for. (I have light brown hair naturally and I was looking for a deep reddish purple tone.) After it was done processing and she had shampooed it out, the instructors consulted outside and then came back in the building. They said that it just hadn't worked and that they wanted me to come back next week for a treatment and a re-do, but that I would have to come earlier than my schedule allowed. They also said I would have to come twice, one day for the treatment and the next day for the color to see if that would fix it. I ended up just dying it at home because I couldn't make it when they were asking me to make it and it came out normal at HOME. My pedicure was very uncomfortable. The student sat on the floor and put my foot on her knee, which was uncomfortable. She didn't really put any effort into the scrub or massage parts. I picked out a polish and she applied it to my toenails, but it was really sloppy. The polish was on my toes a bit in several places and one nail was only partially painted when she said she was done. I was so fed up at this point I simply said it was fine and left. I took the polish off when I got home. Bottom line - Everything from start to finish was sloppy. The facility doesn't really have a good area for doing pedicures and lacks equipment to make it comfortable for the clients. There is NO way that I will return.
