Such a cute store and very well organized. They have such a grand variety of yarn. The staff is friendly and helpful. Their yarn can be low to high, it depends on what you are looking for and your price range. I highly recommend that you stop in and take a look if you are living Arizona or on vacation in Arizona. From a marketer stand point, the only thing I would like to see (as a suggestion) is a binder with projects that could be paired with the yarn. So glad this place exists! Joann and Michael's may offer better value, but their selection is all acrylic blends/synthetic fibers. Nothing is more disappointing than spending hours/days/weeks making something by hand, only to end up with a cheap-looking result that doesn't stand the test of time. Tempe Yarn and Fiber has an incredible selection of luscious materials and gorgeous colors. Many of them are locally sourced or handmade. It's a weaver's paradise and the only place I've been able to find roving and other weaving supplies locally. The staff there are super inviting and helpful, but never pushy or overbearing. The only downside is that hours feel like minutes there, and you may spend more than you planned ;) but the quality is worth it every time. They also have a loyalty program for returning customers and fiber addicts like myself. read more

I had been wanting to visit Tempe Yarn & Fiber for a very long time but hadn't made it in until this past week. I was welcomed into the store by Polly who promptly offered a tour as I had never been in the store before. She showed me around the different sections and explained the types of tags and materials. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the selection, and the prices. The variety or yarns and trinkets the store had to offer was surprisingly good for a smaller store. I love being able to shop locally and was even able to purchase some yarn that was dyed by the owner themselves, locally made called Dyelicious. I left with two skeins of yarn and a super cute sticker for my coffee mug. Already the yarn has been put to good use making two hats and I can't wait to come back to buy more skeins. Stopped here on a cross country drive and what a wonderful surprise! So much yarn and the most friendly and knowledgeable staff I've come across in a yarn store! I was greeted immediately and the store layout was explained to me (ingenious setup). They have what I would consider 'brand' yarn and indie dyed from the local area and state - what a cool way to promote local dyers! I couldn't leave without buying something! They also have things for multiple fiber art crafts, including classes! Definitely check the shop out (and grab some of the super cool cactus stitch markers!). Not only do they have beautiful yarn but the staff are the best...Always available to answer any question and help solve your issue. They have all kinds of classes with great instructors. If you don't see a class listed that you need...ask and they will do their best to arrange to schedule one if they can. They host knitting/crochet groups several days a week and welcome all. I've been part of the Tuesday group since '16 ( and for a short time back in 2011). I so appreciate their hospitality, coaching and comradery. This is such a great store with so many lovely people. I came in for the first time last weekend and the store was laid out very well, it was easy for me to find what I was looking for. They also have quite a big selection of yarns! You can even find a lot of local stuff. They had a great selection of all things knitting/crochet/spinning etc! There is plenty of parking and it's easy to get into. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I stumbled upon this store completely by accident and am so grateful I did. Every time I have gone in I've been met with friendly, helpful people and left with lovely goodies. I took an intro to spinning class and loved it so much i fell down the rabbit hole of yarn making and I ended up buying a wheel through them a year later - they were so helpful to even help me set it up and everything. I've since been back to take a rug weaving class and and every now and again to feed my growing stash of fiber. AMAZING STORE! I stopped in because I wanted to find a local yarn store and I'm not disappointed. All of the employees were super duper nice. I was mostly just browsing, while I was touching every yarn I could see, I could hear the employees helping someone who seemed like they were just starting out. They were going through different weights and fiber contents and even explaining the purpose of winding your yarn. They sell local dyers and I'm obsessed. They also have cute sample patterns made with their yarns around so you can see it in more than the basic stitch swatches like you see in Joann's or Michael's. I will definitely be making this one of my top spots for yarn and notions from now on. read more

This is a great yarn store! I don't get to the Phoenix area often but next time I do, I'm going back. They have lots of items already worked up so you can see how the yarns look together. At least half of what I bought was because of a sample shawl that was on display. That being said, nothing there is cheap. It's all high quality and the people working there are very helpful and great to talk to. They'll also let you log into your Ravelry account and print your pattern. Highly recommended!
