I call myself a "fiber snob" and really love natural fibers (wool, alpaca, silk, linen) as opposed to polyester and acrylic. And although this store had all kinds of fibers, I almost went off the deep end looking at the beautiful colors, fibers, weights, etc. of yarn. I don't live in the area, so this isn't somewhere I can visit often, but when I'm in Scottsdale again, I will visit again. The yarn I purchased is pink, squishy, alpaca/wool blend, thick (whatever I use it for will knit up quickly), and so soft. I can't WAIT to make something lovely with it. The storekeeper was lovely and helpful. Her store is well-organized and has yarns that are so nice. She also has many samples knit (perfectly) from the yarn she sells so you can see what the particular yarn will be when it's knit into an item (garment, scarf, hat, etc.). The store had tons of example quilts, lots of quilt kits, patterns, books, cutting mats, Aurifil thread, and sewing accessories (needles, thread conditioner, pens etc). It was super well organized and thoughtfully designed. Loved how all the Christmas patterns and fabric were together along the back wall. I loved how they used a lot of free patterns available from fabric manufacturers. Most importantly I had great customer service! All the store employees asked me if I needed help and if I was doing ok. As a younger quilting customer (mid 30's) I am frequently completely ignored. So I was pleasantly surprised when I was helped! While I couldn't buy everything I had my eye on I learned they have free shipping through their online store - almost unheard of in the quilting/fabric world. Will definitely buying from this store in the future!

The vinyl selection is abundant and they also carry a lot of the products to put the vinyl on like shirts and cups. I love coming here and feeling so welcome and encouraged. Hands-down, they have the greatest selection of spandex and Lycra fabrics. They're beaded laces and special occasion. Fabrics are also stunning. If you see something you like, it's best to buy it all because it may not come back. I have never gone in and not found what I wanted or needed for my projects. Sometimes I just enjoy wandering for an hour over lunch to see what's new and say hi to the staff. I wish they stayed open later on Saturdays and maybe had limited hours on Sundays because now that Joannes has closed, it's hard to grab things in a pinch. But I'll take what I can get because I really love shopping there. The value is absolutely incredible for the quality of some of these performance fabrics that you will pay 2 to 3 times more for online and even more than that with shipping.
