I think there's a lot Fidelity can do to be more client friendly. I don't think they "care" unless you've got beaucoup dollars. So until I have more than $250k or so I seem to not matter. I've currently consolidated all of my accounts with Fidelity, since my employer's 401k management is through them. But, I've been way more impressed just meeting with folks from Edward Jones to Merrill Lynch.
