Subsequently after a year of having California fair plan and arbitrarily and capriciously being charged an extra $300 this year by the fair plan I started to shop around again. Come to find out many insurance companies insure my area and farmers was lying to me... specifically .....Katherine and Denise were lying to me .....they were so greedy and anxious to get my pittance of a premium and their brokerage fee from said pittance .....that they misled me into the worst California insurance available.... A monopoly of insurance with no choice .....therefore putting me in to a category of insurance that is monopolized without freedom of choice and the ability to either have insurance or cancel it when they raise it $300 per year... I've since found out that my home is not in a red-lined area and many companies would insure it... but since having a small claim while having the garbage insurance..... no reputable company will have me for 5 years now... He checks all angles and I am pretty consumer savvy as it is and he gave me tips that I did not even think about! My own TIP that I am giving you all is up your deductible to save money on your rates, but make sure you can afford your deductible if something happens. AND check EVERY year your insurance quotes with cars and home,etc to compare (once our car is paid in full or a few years old, switch to liability only to lower your costs). So I compare and receive the best prices from them thus far. His office staff that I have dealt with in the past seem very good and he answered this time around when I came up for renewal and got back to me promptly afterwards when I wanted to change something. INTEGRITY is very BIG in my book and both his staff and Mr. Diaz seem to reflect integrity and a respectful customer service (which is also big in my book-can't stand rude customer service-my pet peeve!). Also following through (this is another pet peeve of mine when people don't do what they say-I am big on following through -even when you don't have the answer yet, just call or talk to the customer to let them know you are waiting or what is going on-I do this and expect others to do this as well!)-so far he has always got back to me promptly and followed through on what he said-I RESPECT that! On Monday the rental was returned and Farmers is actually charging my son over $400. I am now seeking legal counsel against these assholes. When the auto repair shop said my vehicle was read for pickup they stated I would have to pay the cost for a battery and pay my deductable. I immediately called my representative Chad. He stated to me to pay the cost of the battery and to add the cost of the battery into my exsense report for reimburstment with AAA insurance for the cost of the battery. I stated to him that I should not be paying anything more than the deductable when I pick up my vehicle and it was for Liberty Mutual to get the monies back from AAA since it was there client who hit and did the damage to my vehicle. Chad stated that if I wanted to pick up my car I would have to pay for the battery. So I paid for the battery along with my deductable. But, I told Chad I did not believe should not be paying for the battery and Liberty Mutural should be paying for it. So when I sent in my expense report to AAA they stated they would not pay for the battery. I called Chad and left a detailed message with him. After calling and leaving several messages I received a phone call from a Mary J. After talking to her serveral times she stated that they would not pay for the battery but stated that at lease I got a battery out of the deal. I stated to her that I did not get anything since I had to pay for the battery I feel I should not have had to pay for. Beware, you may have to pay more then your deductable when picking up your vehicle from the auto shop.
