When was the last time I opened up a back account? Its been so long, I reckon about 15 years ago. I am glad that I decided to open one with Travis Credit Union. Although the wait was substantial because there was a lot of customers, the process was very smooth and informative. I chose right to bypass the online application because the person that helped me was very friendly with lots of information about the different accounts that were available. I came here because it had one of the best brick and mortar high interest savings rate in the area at the time. It has done well. I met Nicole who was a knowledgeable and friendly banker. She was just awesome and an asset to the bank. I did deduct one point from a perfect score because Travis did not give me an ATM card unto the second try and then failed to mail a pin code which I have read in other reviews as well. They told me they went with a new company that delivers the PIN code and I have requested this several times and was ordered a few times but never came. I ordered it to the bank itself to be kept in their vault they said-NEVER came! I ordered it to the house-NEVER came! I gave up and don't use the ATM anyway as I go into the bank itself which you do not need a card like other banks so they tell me. I have never withdraw yet because it is in a multi-month CD so when the time comes I will update it it goes smoothly to withdraw my money or not?! That kind of makes me suspect in reality why are they having so much trouble with a PIN code being delivered to its customers-like do they want to prevent people taking their money out!? However, I did check and TCU has a good and solid bank rating. It is insured by the NCUA (like FDIC but for credit unions). At least making some money, since regular big banks are not giving anything other than pennies literally. So I will update if anything is questionable or not good, but so far it has been great and I earned a good amount. I did rollover into the best interest rate again although it was a bit lower, but still decent among the brick and mortar. You can get quite a bit sometimes with online banking, but I honestly do not trust online banking because there is no place you can go to if sometghing happens and they shut down and cannot reach them online or on the phone, who can you go to?! At least the brick and mortar places, you have someone you can yell at or get your money hopefully and I mean if they invested in a physical place with employees,etc more of a chance it is invested in its company. Updated to add: manager read my Yelp and personally called to help me with getting an ATM card and PIN code. She apologized for the problem and said she will do anything to make it right! Way to go- I appreciated it being a customer and not just an account number like in the big banks. I like TCU even more now! read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. BE AWARE They will discriminate against you during the lending process for your race/religion and other identifying factors that violate the Equal Opportunity Credit Act. They literally had me sign a contract, open a card issued the line of credit issued and even had the card showing up in my account. Then the loan person that had an issue with me personally decided to suspend my card and funding which is now negatively affecting my credit situation because of it. They treated me like a criminal after an approval...I have a 706 score and it was an instant approval with no income docs required...Then everything changed when 1 person got involved well after I was approved...PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE!! AND Nobody in their member service departments listen. read more

On October 4, 2022 I went n2 Travis 2 get my car refinance. A young man name Andrew helped me let me tell you his customer service skills where AWESOME. I got a car loan through the dealership so didn't know anything about this bank. I assumed it was going to be like every other bank and credit union. I was so wrong. You have to deposit money into a share draft account then transfer the funds to the car loan. You can't just make a payment using your current bank's checking account. I have a great credit union and not interested in getting a checking account at this bank just to make payments. I've had this loan for 1 month and I've already refinanced, just got approved today. read more

Having been with TCU, for over 15 years, many bumps in the road with them. One branch in Fairfield was always giving me a hard time to deposit my checks for years, yes deposit. Yes and all the while having 3 to 4 times the amount on deposit. So in the last year the company i work for was sold and i was allowed direct deposit, Yah!!! No more harassment! You work hard pay tax's and fees . Yes and yet TCU employees mess with you. Since covid we have 1 hour wait phone times. Ok almost 3 weeks ago on May28 ,2022 ,went to withdraw cash from ATM, since i don't need to go inside . 2 ATM machine on this branch ,both empty of cash. So i go inside to do the withdraw. The next day ,the account was down $500 . Well it's Sunday and TCU closed and Monday is Memorial Day . Tuesday arrives 55 minute wait on phone . TCU with lines out the doors. Long story short ,only emails. TCU subs out ATMs and files claims to get your money back ,but they won't give an end date! read more

I really wanted to give the local military-oriented credit union some business but my experience has been a huge turn off. I went in to set up a business checking account with the required documents two weeks ago, and got somewhere in the process, except that the there was a specification for one of the required documents not on the website. The first financial representative I met with called their business services department and said that I needed to be registered with the CA Secretary of State, and that it only needed to show on the website as registered and that I wouldn't need to bring in the certificate from the state if I had the copy of the application. Fair enough. I went in yesterday, with the online registry showing. The second financial representative I met with called the business services department and countered what the first one said. Apparently I needed a real copy of the certificate, and/or a copy of the application with the CA SoS. Okay. I just got out of my third meeting with the people there. I went in with a filed copy of the application, called a statement of information (which is a copy of the application with CA that literally says "FILED" on it. I was told by the business services representative that that isn't what they're looking for. I've never been so turned off by a banking institution in my life. I'm not going to visit 4x to open a simple business checking account. Travis FCU, please get your stuff together. read more

Just finished some financial business at my credit union, and as usual, it was another very pleasant experience!! This branch has some of the very best people working in the business field! Be it the manager Helen, the staff..Rose, Christian, Andrew or Giovanni or any of the others(I apologize if I didn't mention by name!). Not only efficient, knowledgeable and accurate in the positions they work, but very friendly. Makes one feel welcomed and a valued customer. Many times, I go inside, just to see the people, greet, and very quick "catch-ups". I can't strongly enough recommend Travis Credit Union for banking needs. Turning in change! I saved change for over a year and it was time to turn it in! I called the branch and ask if there was one in the area that took change? I was told the 2721 Lone Tree I ask if they charged a fee the customer service on the phone stated no fee! I am a member when I got there they told me after $250 they charged a 5% fee. I'm disappointed they couldn't give me the correct information even though they stated on the phone otherwise. read more

Great customer service, Would like to thank Christian Leon, for showing a true sense of compassion and making the process painless, while providing a true sense of self respect for my parents. My elderly parents entered into a purchase agreement . This resulted in a loan they could no longer afford to keep, it became painfully necessary to surrender a vehicle with just 3,600 miles on the clock. The decision to move forward was a painful an not one that was reached easily, my parents have always honored their financial obligations. Christian demonstrated a level of customer service and professionalism, that is not seen as often as i would like. Kudos to Helen Raoufian, Branch Manager. What ever the hiring process was used. I had an account here when they were Metro1 when I was a little kid. Grew up and got accounts with Wells Fargo and Bank of America, only to experience a bunch of hassle. Came back to Travis Credit Union a few years ago and have stayed here ever since. This is the ONLY bank that I have never had an issue with. Absolutely no hidden fees & no nonsense. Every time there's an issue with my account, they are there to help. I want to give special thanks to Pam at the Lone Tree branch for going above & beyond for me today and helping me not only change my account number and get a new card, but also file a dispute I didn't think I was going to be able to file. So my mom and I went there today not knowing much about CDs and putting money places it will benefit us, (rather than just a bank. )We made an appointment with Chris Leon. we actually were afraid that we would feel stupid if we asked to many questions but Chris made us feel comfortable and was extremely professional and super knowledgeable . This is our first time using a credit union and I will definitely recommend it to anyone. And obviously I recommend Chris Leon. We left with money working for us and refinanced 2 vehicles saving us hundreds of dollars in interest and in our monthly payments. This woman is the most helpful, pleasant, kind, and reassuring banker I've ever encountered. A drunk driver hit my parked car, plowing it into another parked car. My car was totaled. I have my auto loan through travis and it's a pretty good rate. Anyways, the only time I go into this location is to pay my loan, and Im usually there on a saturday. They are very friendly, but they are a little understaffed on saturdays. They usually only have one teller (every once in a while they have two), and I always end up waiting in line for about 10 minutes just to pay my bill. I think that they are a good bank, but I think they need to have more people working on saturdays. read more

I have been banking here since I was 15 years old. There has been so many little issues throughout the years but never anything big enough to make me want to leave a review. I used to have my credit card on auto payment until the 1 time they failed to take money out of my checking to pay it and now I have 1 late payment on my credit report. Never trust their auto payments. NOW THE MAIN REASON WHY I REC TO TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. I was recently in a car accident where my car was declared a total loss. I had originally purchased my vehicle from a 3rd party dealer and also purchased GAP insurance from the dealer. I refinanced my vehicle in Oct. of 2019 for a better interest rate and to add myself onto the loan rather than my co-signer. Flash forward to 4/2021 and I was involved in a car accident where my car was totaled and I went to make my gap claim, and the dealership i bought my vehicle from stated that I should've repurchased gap when I refinanced. According to KIM at this branch, I remember asking if I needed to get GAP for my refinance loan and she said NO TO MY GRANDMOTHER AND ME. So now, I owe $6k on my car and have No GAP insurance because of Kim's lack of correct knowledge. I went into the branch and spoke with Ryan who was EXTREMELY rude and just kept telling me that I signed declining Gap, which was because KIM had no clue what she was saying. Got a call from Helen today who is the branch manager who just blew smoke up my ass and said "my employee would never say that" which is BS because every auto loan I have had with Travis (over 5 now) I have always had GAP. The mobile banking app will not send me an email to reset my userID, despite going through all the forget userID information and getting the message that they will send me an email. Calling the call center did nothing to fix my problem, not only did they have my information down incorrectly, were extremely rude (sherry and susan although I doubt these are their real names), i still cannot access my account. Living in another state means I cannot resolve this situation whatsover without flying instate. This entire company is staffed with rude unhelpful dinosaurs incapable of running a banking system. read more
