Unfortunately, beyond those basic services, I have very little positive to say about my experiences. The front desk staff have consistently been unhelpful and often come across as though they don't genuinely care about the animals or their owners. My experiences with the veterinarian have been equally disappointing. The focus has often felt more centered on selling medications and prescription food than finding practical, long-term solutions. On multiple occasions, when one of my pets simply needed a few extra minutes to get comfortable, I was told, "I don't have time to deal with this." That lack of patience and compassion is difficult to overlook. To make matters worse, any services beyond routine care are significantly more expensive than other veterinary clinics in the area. Most recently, I took my dog in for a visit, and he ended up with fleas. While frustrating, these things happen. I requested flea medication and was told there would be a five-business-day wait. I then placed an order through Chewy, which only required the clinic's approval. Chewy confirmed that Nordahl Pet Clinic received the authorization request on Monday. By Thursday evening, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called the clinic. Initially, they acted as though they had no record of the request, and the call was disconnected. When I called back, they suddenly located it but told me it would take another three to five business days just to approve the prescription. The experience left me feeling as though approving prescriptions through Chewy was a much lower priority than having customers purchase the medication directly from the clinic. After years of bringing my pets here, I'm disappointed that this has been my experience. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this clinic based on the care and customer service I've received. I hope this feedback encourages the clinic to improve its communication and customer service so future clients have a better experience.

After years of being bent over by our local Vet, we finally made the decision to seek out a new Doctor for our pups...(should have done it years ago...) I read the great reviews of El Norte Vet Clinic and even though it was a little drive, we decided to give it a try.... Making an appointment was easy, the staff were friendly and helpful We had high expectations of Dr Sherman and he definitely didn't disappoint... He greeted us, then actually sat on the floor and hung out with our pups to put them at ease while he examined them... You can tell he actually loves animals, it's not all about the mighty dollar like it is with most Vets, including our former Vet..... We had exams, vaccines, and some RX for way below the prices we were used to paying.... If you're thinking about changing Vets, visit El Norte Vet Clinic, you won't be disappointed.....Your only regret will be you didn't switch to Dr Sherman way before... Highly, Highly Recommend! The first thing I asked was whether we could try a hydrolyzed diet and/or different type of food because I knew it was tied to food. The vet said no and instead recommend a ton of tests and procedures, even one for Addison's which is rare. After her fluoroscopy and over $10,000 later, they said the solution was upright feedings even though she didn't have ME. I felt hopeless and sad we had not figured it out since she kept getting sick. I told the vet and she kept reiterating upright feedings which was not the solution and wholly unnecessary! Finally, I went to VCA and the vet suggested hydrolyzed protein, what I told the other vet. My dog is now finally doing better now thanks to this place. Don't take your dog here.

At 18 years old, he underwent chest tumor surgery twice, and both times the staff went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable. The first time my husband and I were so worried all day and then we walked into the office and we saw him up front by the reception desk with a blanket over him so they could keep an eye on him. As Milo got older, we knew our time with him was becoming limited. When we had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye, every member of the staff treated both Milo and our family with incredible kindness, patience, and gentleness. They made one of the hardest days of our lives a little easier to bear. A week and a half later, my husband and I are still struggling with the loss of him. I am currently 28 and I've had Milo since I was 13. he was our best friend. We just got home today and checked the mail and we had received a sympathy card personally signed by the staff members. Village Vet has been there for us through some of Milo's biggest challenges and through his final goodbye. Their compassion, professionalism, and genuine love for animals are unmatched. We will be lifelong customers, and we cannot recommend Village Vet highly enough. Thank you for loving and caring for Milo as if he were your own. We will never forget it.

I took my dog in for a yeast infection in her ear. She had this a year ago and the vet cleaned it out really well and put some medicine in and sent us on our way. It was quick and efficient and super reasonable. Today we came in for the same issue s year later and they told me the vet that day doesn't examine the animals in the room with you. Ok. They took her back. After AN HOUR my son had to go to the bathroom. We were lead down a dark dingy hallway to a bathroom and we saw our dog in the back. When we were walking back my son tried to pet a dog that appeared to be owned by an employee (sitting in front of a desk) and the dog tried to bite him and aggressively started barking. After an hour and half I said we needed to leave. The doctor tried to get me to agree to 4 different oral meds in addition to drops. It felt like she was trying to scare or shame me into doing all of this treatment and her explanations for what was going on and what could have caused it were insulting to anyone with intelligence. Since the ownership has changed I was looking forward to a new vet. The last two times I have gone (in the last 3 months) the tone has changed drastically and both times I came in for something pretty minor but felt very pressured to agree to thousands of dollars of tests and treatments that were not necessary. Some people do like to get all the things possible but those people take their dogs to nice vet offices where they expect to pay a lot- not dingy old offices that haven't been updated in 30 years- maybe they're trying to raise funds for a remodel now! I will mention we tend to be on the conservative side for treatment options (with our dogs and humans!) We would like to start less aggressive and then increase as needed. We will now have to find a vet that fits in with that philosophy

I, like many others have been coming here for awhile, since back in 2020. In the last year or so…read moreive felt like the care has declined. I genuinely dont think in 5-6 years i ever saw the same vet twice, if i did it was very rare. Some people note the front desk person is rude, i think she is just fine, shes always been nice to me. The last visit was likely the last time i will visit here unless there is an extreme need. While doing a nail trim, my dog who is like 28 lbs was medicated based on their instruction, still was fighting them, and his nail broke off. They had the audacity to present me somewhere around a 200+/- dollar bill for a procedure they suggested to repair the situation. As you can imagine, i was not having that. I refused to pay it, and had to argue with the male Vet who tried to tell me something that happened out of my sight, that wasnt present before arriving, an issue that they created was my responsibility. I had to inform him the dog has had to be sedated before, and that should have been discussed with me once they realized he wasnt going to cooperate. I handed him back the paper and advised he needs to come up with another solution cause the procedure will get done but i wont be paying. Eventually they ate the cost after an argument that shouldnt have even been necessary. I didnt mind the outdated environment or the folding chairs because the price point matched it. But with declining care, and being told during this visit they were under new ownership/management if this is that management its nothing i want to be part of. All that said, try them for yourself, make your own decision, i never felt they gave "Bad" care to my pets but the last incident just lets me know its time to move on.

My partner and I recently adopted a dog and went for his first check up. The office was busy with a lot of dogs..one was very aggressive. We were brought into a room by an overworked and overstressed employee and sat there for a while waiting for Dr. Young. The exam was fine. No concerns there. A few weeks later, I called the office to ask a question. They called me back the next day. Totally acceptable turn around time, but prior to them expanding, they would've called back the same day. I recently called the office to ask another question- regarding a medication and increasing the dose. They never returned my call. It's hard for me to recommend this office. I miss the personal touch of a small office where the staff is calm, they know all the animals and their parents, and return phone calls.
