We had to go for the full spa treatment - they packed us, moved our stuff into storage, then move it out of storage and into our new home. The staff were all great from start to finish. The best part is that all the actual movers enjoyed each other and got along well. Imagine being a mover and having to carry a china hutch with your office enemy. Not at all an issue with Kato Moving! Were there a few issues with the move? Sure, but what move goes off without a hitch? One issue with Kato Moving is that they were not great at labeling boxes. Most boxes from the basement were just labeled "basement" despite there being five different rooms in the basement (two storage rooms, one mechanical room, one office, and one bedroom). If they had been better at labeling boxes we would have had an easier time knowing where a box went in the new home. The second issue has been a bit more costly. One of the movers took apart my Ikea bed for moving. Please know that Kato Moving insurance does not cover any particle board furniture. The problem came up when it was put together again at our new home. One of the side rails was jammed together too roughly. That has resulted in the side railing splitting and falling apart. Unfortunately that means I have to buy a whole new bed since Ikea doesn't sell parts. When moving our family motto has always been "Beds are the last thing on so they are the first things off!". If you have two trucks for moving have the furniture on one truck and boxes on the second. Request to have the furniture placed first. Then the boxes can easily go into the correct rooms.

One of our moves was a short-notice emergency call to relocate some items from a storage unit as flood waters were rising and we were out of town. (They saved the day!) With each move, the entire process went smoothly, and we will be using their services again in 2027. The team communicated well during every step of the move. Loading was fast and efficient, due to careful planning and preparation. We appreciated how they took extra precautions to protect some family heirlooms and antique pieces. We have never had any damage done to our belongings or to our homes. During the off-loading on this trip, it started raining, but it didn't slow them down at all. The guys worked in the rain, and all items had been thoroughly wrapped and packaged to prevent them from getting wet. In addition, they performed a few "extra duties" like moving some heavier items (up and down many steps) after we had changed our minds about where to place them. Although we have other choices in moving companies, we will always count on Field Brothers. They meet and exceed our expectations every time.

Despite two walkthroughs, the owner, Jay, completely misjudged the size of the job. They showed up in rented trucks, worked at a snail's pace, and were so disorganized that my family had to help them load and unload well into the night. To make matters worse, when presented with a check for the originally quoted amount, Jay threw a tantrum. He cussed out my son, called me at work screaming, demanded an extra $3,200, and ordered his crew to stop bringing our large items inside. Completely unprofessional, disorganized, and hostile. Save yourself the headache and hire a real professional moving company.
