I cannot express how great the guys were who helped me move into my new house in Rochester, MN. I actually used another Two Men and a Truck from Burlington, VT who did an awful job. I learned that they operate completely separately and are franchised, yet the guys from the Rochester location clearly had a lot of pride in their location and the Two Men and a Truck name and were very disappointed to hear another location packed my u-pack truck the way they did. They seemed to work harder to make up for my experience in VT. They were extremely kind, friendly, worked to fix broken furniture if they could. Not to mention they were extremely efficient and finished before they estimated it would take. The manager also called and was friendly and helpful as well! I've used this company out of Philly before and had a similar experience! Highly recommend them! I will be contacting them again when I need to move next. read more

Would not recommend for a bigger move. We've used them before to move from a smaller house in town. The team seemed surprised and unsure of how to handle a number of items. The move took over twice as long and was twice as expensive as originally quoted. Multiple items were left behind, and an expensive dining table was broken in the process. Would recommend probably going with one of the bigger companies if you have a bigger house to move. Mike and his cronies at two men were the epitome of poor customer service. After forgetting multiple large items (grilll, dressers, riding lawnmower) they refused to bring to make up for thier mistakes. "It will cost you at least $5000 to move those items you would be better off renting a uhaul." They refused to compensate for broken antique dishes and minimized damage to the furniture they caused. Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! Paid them a lot of money to move some antiques, furniture and a rare bar to the garage (less than 100feet) and back again as I was doing some remodeling. They did damage the antique bar. The movers were extremely honest about the damage which I appreciate. I put $30K extra of insurance on the move to make sure I would feel better about something being damaged. Mike, the claim guy was arrogant and difficult to get in touch with. He did not understand the value of the broken glass in the bar. I gave him a contact to make the glass but he did not continue to follow up. He offered me a token amount and some "fake" red glass to fill the spot where it was broken. The pub made it over from England on a ship intact and could not make it in and out of my house with this moving company. Please don't use them if you have anything valuable to move. read more

Moving can be an extremely stressful time, but Two Men & A Truck made the process easy and uncomplicated. The guys showed up right on time and after a walkthrough, they got right to work. They followed my list to the letter and were actually done in just a little over an hour. Everything was packed carefully and ready to go on the truck. Definitely would not recommend using Two Men and a Truck. Before the move , after having made arrangements for moving service, I requested junk removal as well and received confirmation that this could be done at the same time of the move with the same truck. One week before the move I was informed that this would not be possible as the truck would not be big enough to handle the items. This was not true as the truck used was big and would have had ample room for the junk removal, the items being moved and there would have still been room for numerous items of furniture and boxes. We had all items for the move at a storage unit (10x10), which was located approximately two minutes from Two Men and a Truck. The stated arrival time for service was 8am-8:10am. At 8:11am I received a call and voicemail stating that Connor, from Two Men and a Truck was calling to inform me that they were currently on the way. I immediately placed a return call and was informed that the truck had just been fueled and arrival would be about ten minutes. I want to state here that if you have an early appointment that fueling should be done the night before. At 8:27am I received a call that the movers had arrived and were in the back of the building (16 minutes to go less than two and one-half miles). I, along with my daughter, meet the movers and we went to the storage location to begin the move. At that time I was informed that the start time would be altered to accommodate for the delayed arrival - in the end that did not happen. As I stated earlier, all items were located in a 10X10 unit. The storage unit has equipment for moving items as well as a lift that was located by the truck loading area. The movers first went to the storage unit without bringing any equipment to start the move. By not bringing any equipment to the storage unit to start with the movers had to make two additional trips, adding at least 15 minutes on to the total move time. It took one hour and 20 minutes for the movers to load the truck , with the assistance of myself and my daughter. Upon arrival at the residence it only took 25 minutes to unload and place the furniture. One piece of furniture wasn't moved into the residence as the movers stated they couldn't do it. The movers asked about putting our dining room legs back on the table. By that time my frustration level was high so I said no. The main mover said that was good ad he did not have any tools with him. I found this strange as the information I received in an email indicated that minor assembly would be available. I was okay with that as I did not want this small, simple take to take another hour. Once the move had been completed I was told by the main mover that he was going to grab the tablet to wrap up the move. At this time he went outside and proceeded to start packing up the truck to leave and was not back inside for another ten minutes. I was provided with an explanation of the cost. The total ended up to be $640. Way overpriced for the service. My frustrations: Why was the truck not fueled the evening before and ready to go in the morning Late arrival (17 minutes from the stated arrival time and 16 minutes from the phone interaction) Lengthy amount of time to move items out of storage unit Lack of tools to assist with any minor needs One mover complaining of aches and pains as the move was taking place Delayed arrival not reflected in cost Complete lack of time management skills Lack of problem-solving skills ...and the list goes on Again - WOULD HIGHLY DISCOURAGE THIS BUSINESS read more

We went with 2 Men because they had rave online reviews and I've also spoken with a few people in Roch who had positive experiences. My primary complaint is an incredible run-around on a customer service issue that shouldn't be this complicated and feels fishier by the minute, which is casting an even darker shadow on the mediocre load-up job we had. We needed some moving pads at the last minute on the day of our move and called dispatch ahead of time; our movers were never notified and arrived without them. Finally halfway through loading (which had now been held up waiting on them) someone from the office drove out in a sedan with pads for us and told us that they only had rental to offer us at $20 each (and that they would return $15 to us for each pad returned after). I asked if we would be able to return them to another 2 Men location on the East Coast, since we were doing a one-way move. He said yes. Did they ACTUALLY run out of pads to sell us? Or were they trying to take advantage of stressed out people halfway through a move? I would have bought the used ones (and did ask if they were sure there was no way of doing so). Moving pads cost $5 on Amazon, so to ask us to pay $20 a pad before we drive across the country feels...pretty darn fishy, as this stretches on. I'm sure you can guess by now that, after calling about 4 franchise offices out here, I've been told it is NOT possible to return the moving pads to a franchise near us. Mike the GM told me he would help me find a franchise in my area willing to take them back but after about a dozen calls about this issue I've gotten nowhere. I've asked to get a refund on the pads, since this is verging on the comically ridiculous and was told I'd have to return the actual pads to get a refund. I don't even want to know what it would cost to mail 8 large moving pads across the country. The actual move was...okay? They were friendly and did work hard but ignored our suggestions on loading the truck and, as a result, we had to leave half of our disassembled desk on the lawn and pay $85 for a junk collector to gather. The lead mover with the most experience couldn't figure out how to use our rachet strap (the guy from the office who came with the pads had to fix them when he came), which also stretched out the billable time. I know it was the end of June, which is crazy in general and in Rochester specifically, but the contrast between the service on our load-up with 2 Men in Rochester and our unload in Philly with a local company is night and day--and not a good look for these guys. read more

Two Men and a Truck moved me a little over 3 weeks ago. I saw great reviews and decided to use them for my move. I called and received a quote. Everything was very professional. When I received the breakdown of the estimated cost by email, there was a section that said "Valuation". I called and inquired about it and was told that it was to cover my belongings in case of damages. I was told I could get a cheaper one according to the value of my belongings and the amount of coverage I needed. I decided on the least expensive one and I was told if I felt I didn't need it I could remove it altogether up until when the movers showed up for my move. When the movers showed up I mentioned it and the young man told me he would call the office to take care of it. That young man had to leave and go to his sons graduation and another young man came and filled in for him. I mentioned it to him as well and he said he would take care of it. The original young man came back after his sons graduation and at the end of the move the valuation was still on there. I stated that I told him and the other man that came to take his spot that I did not want it. He said that he did not have the authority to remove it and the other young man who came to take his place could have done it because he's the manager but the office was closed so he told me to call the office when they are open and they would refund me for it. After the move, I noticed my daughters full size bed rails were fitted for a queen size bed. It was very unsafe. I attempted to readjust it but couldn't because I didn't have one of the needed tools. I did notice that when the young man was putting my bed and my daughters bed together, one of the other movers was talking to him which I'm sure was distracting and it slowed him down. I called the office about the bed and the valuation after calling a second time the young lady I spoke to arranged for someone to come out to fix the bed correctly, which they did. The young lady was very helpful and proactive. The refund for the valuation never happened. I let it go because it was clear they were not going to live up to their promises. It wasn't a battle worth fighting and I know that people and companies pay for their unethical behavior and mishandling people and customers. Later, I noticed a part of my bed along with a couple of screws were under my nightstand, which means that there was a piece missing in the assembly of my bed. I figure he was confused about where it went when he was putting it back together so he hid it. Again, the talking probably didn't help. Other than all this, they did a great job! read more

We ultimately moved small items, plants, clothes, food, etc. on our own, but needed help with the big bulky things and heavy pieces. Our move was pretty last minute, Two Men and a Truck was available within 3-4 days notice and provided us a quote for services quickly. In the end we came under the estimate (they charged by the hour). The two movers were professional, efficient, and careful with our things both moving to the truck and placing things in our new place. They even wore masks the entire time they moved. Fast and efficient move. Both individuals were friendly and professional. Property was secured to ensure safe arrival to it's destination. I will definitely be using again for any future moves. My only complaint would be the required insurance which significantly added to the bill. Moving one item less than two miles; insurance should be optional. We used Two Men and a Truck when moving large items from a home being rented in NW Rochester to a home purchased in SW Rochester in late 2016. We were doing the rest of the move on our own, but decided to make a last-minute investment in movers to help with the large items. With just a couple days notice, Two Men and a Truck was available and provided us a quote for services, which they came under the quote. There ended up being some Scheduling issues the first time then we rescheduled for the day before we moved and what did they say come D day? Just had Luke and Aidan move some furniture for us. On time, professional, courteous, fast (literally running between our old home to our new home across the street!), and absolutely no issues regarding the move. In other words, no damages to the furniture or the homes. Would I recommend Two Men (didn't need the truck!) again? In a heartbeat! Listen folks, when you hire Two Men and a Truck you're getting a couple of younger guys who work their butts off. This work "ain't" easy. Respect them. They're out there bustin' it. Not sitting around eating chocolate bon bons and watching soap operas. When they finished, I gave them a generous tip and a soda apiece. This is how you interact with hardworking folks. Not bitchin' about some miniscule problem you had because you have no clue how to communicate or treat other people with respect. I submitted a request for moving estimate on May 18, 2015. Immediately received an auto generated email response communicating I'd be contacted soon. Great. After two days of waiting, I called the local office and was told they are really busy and can't help me on my specified date. Then I was asked if i can push my move out into the next month? Really? When I asked why I hadn't at least been called, I received a "Sorry, ma'am, we've just been really busy." These people are apparently too busy. Call someone else. read more
