this might be the cleanest grocery store I've ever been into, it is always spotless. Search around and see if you can find a piece of dust on the floor (good luck). I love their bulk bin options (shout out to nutritionist yeast and steel cut oats) And they have some uniquely amazing tasting prepackaged food in the refrigerated area. that's right next to the deli. If you want to truly support a family business in the Flathead valley and you're looking for excellence, this is your store. I personally wish to preserve family businesses, understand that big corporations like Natural Grocer may sometimes be able to offer a few cents cheaper but at what price? This store is family run and the customer service is exceptional. The to go deli cooler and soup bar offers the best in the Flathead. Delicious. If you like the true character of this community, this is the store that offers an opportunity to align your money with your values and integrity. Plus, it's a pleasant, inviting and beautiful store! What I like best about MVF is their wall of bulk bins for grains, seeds and nuts. However, I've also gotten some things even cheaper than that by ordering online through Azure Standard and their local drop-offs. Our family has also really enjoyed their wheatarita from the juice bar. But, again, my frugal bone is always buzzing, "I could have made that at home with my own wheatgrass for cheaper!" So, to thrift-store shopping, large-family feeding, necessarily frugal health nuts like me, MVF mostly feels like the Macey's of the Flathead Valley's health food choices. I've been a MV customer for many years. I bought the pack of wheat grass from them, found out Whitefish 3rd Market sold it for $10 less-same distributor..I said nothing and paid the $50. Today, I bought a bottle of DGL I had not tried for 26.99. it's for upset stomach, so I opened the bottle and took one a little later. it had the most intolerable taste & 200 capsules! I immediately took it back for a return & there company policy now: If opened, no refund‼‼‼‼ I have never been to a vitamin store that doesn't have a return policy. Prices are good, sales are great so 3 stars although Today I got my first ginger shot from the juice bar. The maker informed me that she added water before putting the ginger shot through to flush out the beet residue. It tasted like 80% water content so I informed her and excepted a remake, instead she went to get her boss. When the boss came over she had a bottle of concentrated, shelf stable ginger juice In her pocket, ready to argue. The price displayed for fresh ginger juice is 99 cents but I was charged $2.49. 2.49 makes more sense for 1 ounce of ginger juice so I didn't question it and assumed they haven't change their sign since inflation or I was misreading it. When the boss confronted me she Informed me that there is water in the ginger juice intentionally. She said she would charge a lot more for pure ginger and claims she does it because pure ginger juice is too strong. As someone that has worked in and visited many juice bars, I'm aware that pure, fresh ginger juice is a selling point and not a deterrent. If water is being mixed with juice, that needs to be displayed in the ingredients and next to the price, which is the argument I presented to her. She chose to respond with resistance and distain. I requested a refund and she instead ignored my request and preceded to open the bottle of ginger juice to pour me a 1 oz shot, with the awareness of how unpalatable it was going to be and as a "solution" Maybe it was a solution to the point she was trying to make but at what cost? There are times for pure fresh ginger juice and their are times for shelf stable ginger juice. After a relaxing but strenuous workout I wanted the anti inflammatory properties of fresh, pure ginger juice. With how the boss behaved I assumed she'd be a supervisor at most so I over shot and asked if the was the manger. She said she's one of the owners. I'm disappointed. read more

This is such a fun store. All healthfood stores are. Interesting items to inspire a healthy way of eating, cooking, and living. I really like their fresh juice bar. Juice of choice: Carrot, apple, ginger. They have a quick deli section too. Soups are yummy and imaginative. Burritos, salads, sandwiches. All premade and ready to eat! Only bummer is that it is so expensive. I can easily walk outta there having spent $15 on soup and salad to go. I hate that. $5 Rewards for every $250 spent if I remember correctly. Not bad. That's a 2% refund. I like to shop sale items here. Natural Grocers up north is cheaper. But this is a more intimate shopping experience and its close to work for a quick bite. read more

Love this store. Used to shop at natural grocers, but found mountain valley and would much rather support a small local business than a large grocery chain. They often have unique produce options, and I don't think they're over priced. Anytime you go to a health food store it's going to be more expensive than a regular grocery store. Employees are kind and helpful. They have a large selection of products. read more

When it comes to delicious healthy plant-baed food - in a part of the country where meat is king - Mountain Valley Foods is an oasis of goodness. I was on a recent business trip from the Bay Area and stopped by twice a day - for lunch and dinner- to pick up an assortment of amazingly prepared meals. I loved every dish....and especially salivated over the killer vegan desserts. Before I left Kalispell to fly back to San Francisco, I went to Mountain Valley with a shopping bag to fill with treats to bring home. Now I have two reasons to come visit Kalispell: Glacier National Park and Mountain Valley Foods. read more

Just stopped there for lunch, I've only had their smoothies and juices but decided to have some lunch there and absolutely amazing! I had the soup of the day and one of the Turkey sandwiches, and they were so good. Definitely recommend eating there if you haven't tried it. read more

Very cute small health market with lots of ready made vegan options, some raw and vegan desserts (I was tempted to get two desserts, haha!), and friendly and helpful folks working there. It's too bad I decided to check it out after dinner, otherwise I would have picked up dinner, dessert, and breakfast for tomorrow morning (tofu scramble with a side of vegan fiesta ranch (I assume for the fiesta salad). This is a one stop shop for the health-conscious. Edit: I just ate the tofu scramble with a bit of the fiesta ranch dressing and it was so delicious! Thanks Mountain Valley Foods! It was nice to have a tofu scramble for breakfast, as there's nowhere else around here that has that. read more
