The ladies who work here are really kind and nice. We came here during a road trip and stopped by because we saw they sell/use local wheat from Montana. We had their turkey bacon avocado sandwich and the bread was so soft and the sandwich overall tasted fresh and delicious despite the simplicity. We had to grab a big bag of whole wheat flour before we left! Definitely check out this place. Stopped by Wheat Montana for their famous giant cinnamon buns! Easy to find and such a convenient spot to stop by on a road trip. The cinnamon roll was okay, honestly a bit underwhelming, but the reuben sandwich on marbled rye totally made up for it!! Really good and flavorful with kettle chips and a pickle. We split the Stockman sandwich & it was the perfect portion. It might have been the best roast beef sandwich I've ever had! We were looking for a deli/bakery for a quick lunch to go, and this option ended up being great with a wide variety of options. There's also a small section in the restaurant selling local goods & gifts, as well as a separate coffee counter. Sandwiches were delicious. I sometimes still think about that huckleberry grilled cheese - it was perfectly melty and had just the right balance of sweetness and saltiness to it. Sooo good. The last huckleberry food item we ate was the ginormous huckleberry and cream cheese cinnamon roll at Wheat Montana Deli and Bakery in Kalispell. But first we had a half tuna sandwich and a half Reuben sandwich. My companion also had a cup of cheese soup. There's a nice selection of other salads and sandwiches, hot and cold, as well as make your own. The bakery cases hold a selection of other gargantuan cinnamon rolls, bear claws, muffins, cookies. They warmed up the roll and it was pillowy soft, slightly chewy and hinted of cinnamon. It was lightly glazed with a cream cheese frosting with huckleberries. Though sweet, it was not overpowering. Not a bad place for a bite to eat in downtown Kalispell. We visited Wheat Montana Deli & Bakery after seeing that it was open on the fourth of July, as most of the other businesses weren't since it was a holiday. We were happy to find plenty of options for some treats here. Wheat Montana Deli & Bakery has a lot to choose from, depending on what you're in the mood for. We just wanted a coffee and pastry, which they had a display case of. I ended up getting a huckleberry bear claw while my partner had the huckleberry bread pudding. However, if you're looking for something heartier, they have many cold and hot sandwiches, in addition to the pastries. Our treats were good. The bear claw was tasty, but I did wish it had more of the huckleberry filling. But it wasn't bad. The huckleberry bread pudding though was fantastic. It was dense with a lot of huckleberries throughout. That's what I'd recommend trying here. We're glad to have been able to find some pastries and coffee here before hitting the road. HUCKLEBERRY CINNAMON ROLLS. Seriously, come here just for the rolls. They are HUGE (the size of a large takeout container), yet super light and fluffy. This spot opens up a bit on the late side and closes early. Only came once due to timing in and out of the park. The business is definitely feeling the small business COVID effect. Hands down the Best Cinnamon Rolls I've had in 30 years. We had family visiting and this was a huge hit. They're big too - beware.

Staffing shortages prevail around the valley, however that does not allow the service to be rude, slam the to go order counter and walk away, or to lie when the order is incorrect, I ordered a hot sandwich and it came out cold and the girl stayed they don't serve hot sandwiches. 1)Bull 2)if not then why take the order for a hot sandwich There is no excuse for this, I also noticed they were rude to an older gentleman at the second till. For "local" businesses wanting customers this is not the way to get them. I am sure the food is very good. However, this buisness doesnt require all customers to wear mask. I had two custermers without masks stand directly behind me when I was ordering. Staff has masks below their nose. They do not wipe down tables inbetween customers. We sat outside to wait for our order. I wiped the table down. It was actually dirty. During our stay near Kalispell we ate here twice. Both times were as we started our early morning drive to Glacier National Park. It was great that Wheat Montana Deli & Bakery opens early (6AM M-Sat, 8AM Sun), as it allowed us to have a filling meal before starting our day. It also meant taking along some great bakery products to eat later in the trip. The items we had that I can recommend are any of the bagel sandwiches. We had these both times and loved them. I also tried the huckleberry coffee (it's quite the popular berry in these parts), which as far as flavored coffee goes (I'm not usually a fan) was pretty good. The cinnamon rolls (picture coming soon) are GINORMOUS, and I could not even finish it (which made for a good snack later). On the second visit I learned Wheat Montana Deli & Bakery grows their own grain, and this grain (whole or ground) can also be purchased in the store. That's pretty cool. PS. During this trip through MT, I've been super stoked to see cinnamon rolls offered at so many restaurants. I don't know why, but it is super hard to get my hands on a cinnamon roll at home. Of course, I stopped in Wheat for one. Service was quick and friendly- appreciated that they offered to heat it up and make sure I had silverware to-go. I noticed several flavors were sold out when I dropped in around 1, so go early for the full selection. I have to say that I respect the effort to make em'- I tried my hand at making from scratch, and they came out similar to this: large and pillowy, but bready. The cream cheese icing was not overly sweet. I was hoping for more gooey cinnamon goodness inside. The rolls are HUGE, so bring a friend to help you out.
