Worst dining experience I've ever had. The young waitress girl, rarely came to our table, never brought out my quesidilla(charged me for it,) and charged us for quacamolea that came with one of our meals, because we asked for it after she forgot to bring it out. A complete bust. Isn't it just magnificent when you can walk into a place on a slow day and still receive food suitable only for the trash... After placing an order to take home and arriving at my dinner table, I was left to unwrap what I hoped to be a parcel from The Gods, or at the least something mildly tasteful to chew on, though what I found was to be contrary to every gastronomical notion I've ever had. I was given a platter of what was supposed to be chicken in verde sauce but what I had received in its place was a mound of rubbery and stringy fat-laden meat doused in a pool of gritty watered down sauce that managed to leave the taste of every meager alkali trace of the minerals found from the faucet it had came from. Any taste of chili and seasoning was minute at best. Just to top it off I had asked to add some fajita peppers minus the onions on the side, but I guess they thought I needed them, as there they were mingling amongst the rest of my entree. Needless to say after tasting, I could only then bring myself to stir everything around a few times before retiring my fork to stare at the contents. I had also requested a portion of refried beans for my father likes to dip his chips in the stuff. After reaching in the bag and taking out the pint sized plastic container I was literally taken back to find that what this place called beans was infact a completely pureed mash of pudding fantastically floating atop a body of water like some donation from BP. Was I supposed to mix this concoction and drink it through a straw? Utterly absurd. I called and informed the somber and rather uninterested manager of the service I had received and I was subsequently issued a credit that will never be used. Regardless of whether or not the staff wishes to give me another chance is of no concern of mine, for if that be the case I only have to say that the feeling is not mutual. I will not make the mistake of wasting my time and money on this joint again. If a safe bet is what you're looking for, hit The Crazy Burrito. They haven't let me down, yet. Even if you just intend to sit and drink a beer and have some chips and salsa, that's the place to do it. On salsa alone they'll give these guys a spanking and send them crying back to Momma. Fiesta Charra is one phrase I can stand to forget. read more

I visited Fiesta Charra on a trip from Brooklyn, New York. Though my opinion may be biased as a result of the vibrant Mexican cuisine available in New York City, I was dreadfully disappointed with the food at Fiesta Charra. The complementary chips and salsa and low prices were pleasant at first, but things quickly went downhill. My food arrived on two plates, one with a beef taco and the other with two enchiladas. The enchilada--a classic Mexican dish characterized by a cheesy flavorful sauce covering tortillas containing more cheese or a meat! The enchiladas at Fiesta Charra were bare and bland filled with crumbly ground beef and no where near enough cheese, I was HIGHLY disappointed. Additionally, the taco was similar--bare and bland with a surprising lack of flavor. Quite frankly, I would have rather taken a trip to Taco Bell. read more

In town for reunion weekend and this was recommended. I'm hovering between two and three stars. Nothing special vs your local TeX Mex spot, and in fact probably not quite as good as what I'm used to. Just had the worst lunch ever! Used to be our favorite Mexican restaurant in Oxford, but today's lunch and the LONG BLACK HAIR caked in our cheese dip (that we didn't find until the end of the meal!) made our stomachs turn. To make matters worse, both the server and manager were very rude and were incredibly reluctant to take the dip off of our bill. They even tried to say the hair was ours, and neither of us have long black hair! Yuck. I am very grossed out. We will never go back. read more

Probably the best Mexican food I've had in Ohio, the Diablo was spicy hot, and generally hot, not "hot" like a fast food place calls hot. I've been to Oxford many times for swim meets and never came across Fiesta Charra, it is now on my list of must eat in Oxford! read more

The delivery stinks. We didn't get our food for an hour and a half and when we did, it was mushy and luke-warm. The restaurant is good to eat at, but the delivery service I would NOT recommend. read more

I knew I should have went to La Pinata. This place is the pits! Horrible customer service. The waiters kept bringing the wrong plates to our table, just very disorganized. Our waiter was a total grouch, didn't crack one smile or even try to be friendly. I ordered the Charra Taco Salad and it was horrible. The lettuce was slimy and sour and the dish itself was very small and bland. Will never go back! read more

This was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. The service was so poor that i can't even review the food because it never came. I called in a simple order, a burrito and a fajita, at 7:30. I was quoted at 45 minutes for them to make and deliver us the food. After an hour and 15 minutes I called again, and was rudely told that it would be another 20-30 minutes. As it was cold and I was already waiting, I decided just to wait the extra few minutes. They seemed busy, so I gave them 45 more minutes to bring me my food. It was now 9:30 when I tried to call again, and I had to call them 3 times before they even picked up the phone. When they finally answered, they told us that they hadn't even started making it and that it would be another 45 minutes. My date and I were forced to cancel the order as we had an event to go to, and we were forced to eat ramen for dinner because waiting for Fiesta Charra had taken our entire evening and we had no time to go somewhere else. If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. They are obviously very poorly run (the manager wasn't even there the next day), extremely rude, and unable to make simple food in a more than reasonable time period. How they can stay in business when it takes them 3 hours to make a burrito and fajita is beyond me. read more

Normally, this was our "go-to" place for Mexican food in Oxford. But last night, we went for the margarita special, and got the old bait-and-switch from the sketchy server. He brought larger margaritas, saying they were the 'best deal', but later when we got the bill, we realized he brought us the only sized drinks that were NOT on special. When we asked, he said "well you didn't ask for the special" and was very unhelpful. The manager didn't help at all, either, saying only "well, you drank them." All in all, very unsatisfying experience for us. So, we won't go back, and will spread the word about their poor customer service. I hope the few extra dollars they got from us last night (minus the tip, which was zero) was worth it, because we used to frequent their restaurant regularly. No more. A simple "sorry about the misunderstanding, how can we make it up to you?" was all we needed. read more
