A hidden gem, if you are craving authentic Latin food, check out this little restaurant in Hamilton. The parking lot is a little small (pro tip: go around the round about to get to the actual entrance to the lot, the other entrance is blocked off), but it is totally worth the effort. I tried the horchata...huge glass and has incredible floral notes that I've boy had in other versions. 100% recommend! I also tried the cheese and the pork/cheese pupusas. Light, soft and completely delicious, the accompanying cabbage and carrot slaw was acidic and bright. Definitely delicious and the prices are super cheap. The salsas are very authentic, the green one being my favorite. I can't wait to bring people back here. The decor is simple and very clean, and there is a takeout area as well as some seating. This place is great. Definitely a hole in the wall and an opportunity to practice Spanish. My friends and I went here after an entire day at Jungle Jim's International Market and were looking for a good place to eat something different. Much to our delight, this place met our needs. I had the bean and cheese papusa and the loroco and cheese papusa. I've never had loroco and was pleasantly surprised. It has a flavor that is hard to describe and reminded me of something "smokey." It was deliciously authentic and I was happy to try something new. We also had some fried plantains with crema, beans, and queso fresco. With just two papusas, I was full to the gills. Prices were really reasonable ($7 for the two papusas). The service is also great. People are very nice and patient, especially considering I was trying to practice my Spanish. Sad I didn't make time to stop in sooner! And sad that I didn't try a pupusa sooner! I wish more restaurants served them. My brother and I got chicken & cheese, pork & cheese, and locoso & cheese. All delicious. Highly recommend you eat it with the slaw it comes with. And add the salsa verde. The chips and salsa that comes with the meal is also really good. I believe it is a fire-roasted salsa. We also split a side of rice and beans. Oh my goodness was was it amazing. Both had immense flavor and the texture of the bean was perfection. First time visit to a great restaurant here in the Fairfield area. Right across the street from the Old Forest Fair Mall. I would have to say this place is a hidden gem. I had the carne asada with the side of beef soup and some empanadas. My waitress with this beautiful young lady named Anna, I was a little worried because in the past when I had visited Latino restaurants this afternoon don't speak very good English but this particular server perfect English. When I got to my table and was seated, the server took my order and made some suggestions on the menu. She was extremely polite, outgoing and seemed very honest. She indicated that this was her family restaurant and normally she doesn't work here only to help out from time to time. I will have to say the atmosphere is very Latino which is great, typically Fairfield has a lot of Mexican restaurants, Peruvian restaurant. This place was awesome I enjoyed my chicken soup and my steak dinner. I kind of wish that they had a desert menu. Wow... where to start with this one. First parking is kind of shitty. You pull straight into parking spots from a busy road so getting in and out is hard. Second it's a tad confusing what to do when you get in... do I seat myself or order then sit. We opted to sit since we hovered by the door counter for a few minutes and were never acknowledged. After a few minutes of sitting a server came around and it was obvious English was not her first language (not a problem for me considering the restaurant), makes it a bit difficult if you need to make any changes to an item or if you have any questions. We got like one of everything. To start the tacos were no bueno, the fried plantains were sweet and served with cheese and beans which were all good on their own but mixed together was not a good taste. Finally the papusa... well let's just say those bad boys made the whole trip worth it. They were absolutely AMAZING. It has been a long time since I've had Salvadorian cuisine. We were in the area and this place popped up so I knew I had to try it. This is the kind of place I love. Hole in the wall but the friendly service and food is just outstanding. They have one side of the menu that is dedicated to Salvadorian style food and the other for your more traditional Mexican favorites. I'd recommend if you come here that you get the Papusas as that is what is in the name. If you've never had these, then they are essentially similar to an Arepa which you find in Venezuelan food. The Papusa is stuffed with your choice of meat and cheese and then served with hot sauces and a pickled slaw. I'd recommend eating it all together. The other items I'd recommend with your meal would be their Horchata and Gordita (from the mexican side of the menu). I tried the Gordita because it sounded and looked good and is not something you can find in most places. I have zero complaints with this place and just wish it was closer to where I live. We discovered papusas on a trip to Washington DC a couple of years ago. Those papusas were Peruvian. This is a Salvadorian restaurant and, honestly, the papusas here are even better! We thought their chicken and pork papusas were delicious! My wife enjoyed her Carne Asada and I really liked my steak taco. We were also very pleased that they served Horchata as a beverage choice. Stopped by for lunch. The woman behind the counter was extremely friendly. I hadn't had a pupusa in years so I was very happy when she asked me to sit and wait while she prepared and cooked mine. Ten minutes later I walked out with a pork and cheese as well as a bean and cheese. I burned my mouth more than once because they were so delicious it was killing me not to devour them. As soon as I saw this Mexican/Salvadoran restaurant in the list of options, I knew it was the one. The meal began with a bang. They served fresh chips paired with a very good salsa. Very. Good. The waitress was very kind and patient. She explained several dishes. The entire menu was intriguing. The selections this visit included chorizo gordita, chicken sopes, cheese enchiladas, mixed (multiple meats) and pork and cheese pupusas. The pupusas were served with a cabbage relish. All of the dishes were good. My favorite may be the gordita, although it's a very close race. I'm glad to have come upon this restaurant. The food and service were great. That magical moment you realize you have found the ultimate dive restaurant. The outside is not very appealing, parking, I recommend backing in so you can get back out on the street. It is not in a influential part of town. But when I walked in, I was greeted by a very friendly lady. Thing got better. She brought out chips and salsa. Not just salsa. Salsa you would serve a God. I've been to Pupuserias in Central America and I truly have to say that this place is one of the most authentic pupuserias I've been to in The States (I've been to some in NY and NJ). The Pupusas are on the larger side and full of flavor (I had the ones made of chicharron and queso). The curtido (slaw) was fresh and tasty...and the sauces were wonderfully delicious. Looking at the outside, you might be a little intimidated since this is not in the best of neighborhoods, but the inside is clean but small. The ladies who work inside are very friendly, and communicating is a little bit difficult (unless you speak Spanish), but with a little persistence, it's fine. There are no menus, but there are really only three or four things as best I could tell. The lady who waited on me said they are working on a menu that should be out in a week or so and it will have more items on it. But for now, they have papusas, tacos, and slaw. There was one more item, but I didn't recognize the name of it and don't remember. I had never had a pupusa before. They are made with cornmeal and your choice of cheese, pork or chicken, and refried beans. It seems to be put together like a sandwich with the cornmeal on the top and bottom, with the other ingredients puréed an in the middle. They are then put on the griddle and finished. Each pupusa is about 3/4 inch thick and 5 inches in diameter. I found that 2 or 3 makes a good sized meal. All I can say is "pupusa, where have you been all my life". I'm going to have to eat a lot of these to make up for lost time. They are delicious and addictive. I went back within a week. The slaw is like cole slaw, but the cabbage is slightly pickled and was delicious as well. The slaw comes in two varieties - regular and hot (has jalapeños sliced up it it). I didn't try the tacos, so I can't really comment on those. The eat in facilities are limited - 5 tables, no A/C, but I think most of their business is take out. The number on Yelp is incorrect - I'm attaching a picture of the business card with the correct number. You can call ahead for take out. The price is very reasonable. We got 6 pupusas and 3 slaws for $15. read more

This place is the real deal. Tiny little shop with no menu and everyone speaking Spanish. The papusas were handmade right in front of us. Several different varieties. We had a sampling of 4.
