As far as service, DO NOT enter this store unless you are fluent in Spanish. First order of business-I had to cash in lottery tickets and in order to do that, I had to find the head cashier. Got that done, but it was far from easy. Second, I had to buy some veggies. The plastic bags to store veggies, not next to the veggies, hide and seek. Third, I had to buy some frozen and refrigerated food. The frozen food was hidden in the far back corner of this very spacious store and the dairy items I needed were hidden in the far back OTHER corner, about 100 yards from each other. Listen I understand this time of year is difficult for retail employees...but it was before 8am there were hardly any people in line. I was paying for my purchases and the cashier in the lane next to me dropped a gallon of milk. And it splattered my entire backside. Jeans, sweatshirt and house slippers. Accidents happen all the time...I understand. And I was ready to help her clean up despite my having been milk bathed...why? Because I've worked retail and I know how difficult it can be. But I didn't ...I stopped dead in my tracks when the cashier started cussing up a storm. Bad mannered...pouting and complaining about another coworker who apparently wasn't doing his/her job and that's what "caused her" to drop the milk. No apologies to the customer ahead of was tendering...no request for assistance to replace the gallon...no attempt to clean up...and no apology to me. Did I need an apology?...No...but it would have been nice. The young lady's attitude was definitely uncalled for and it made for an uncomfortable situation for both the customers and coworkers around her. The store opened barely an hour ago and this is her attitude already, I can't wait to see what she'll be acting like at peak busy. This was the cleanest Fiesta I have been to in years!! Upon entering I just knew there would be an odor but nothing! Nothing but a variety fresh fruit and vegetables from various countries. Even the seafood department in this store wasn't overpowering. This store sells a bit of everything so it's worth checking out. They sell clothes, baked goods, and various other products. If you're looking for products that derive from Puerto Rico, Columbia, Argentina, and various other countries go to this specific location you won't be disappointed. read more

Good stuff. Might be in what some consider a "sketchy" area but you can't beat the prices Fiesta Marts has one certain items. If you do a lot of shopping you'll know what I talking about. In case you don't know, they do cater to the Hispanic community. By doing this you get exposed to an amazing array of produce and items you will never find in your regular grocery store like HEB or Kroger. Some of the workers may not be able to speak the best English but it's not hard to find someone to help you in case Spanish is not a strong second language. OK, so I'm starting my spring cleanse, and I wanted to stock up on healthy foods - especially those with some kick, like Indian, Asian and Mexican cuisine. So I went to Fiesta Mart in southwest Houston. Short version: A very clean, well-organized international market with lots of atmosphere, diversity and (most importantly) low prices! Parking is a hassle but that's typical of Houston. Long version: I used to faithfully visit the old Fiesta on North Shepherd for the last 30 years until it was sold and bulldozed and turned into HEB-World. Now, I get all my international foods from this Fiesta. Price-wise, Fiesta beats all the other chains hollow. Their tag line in the 1990s was "The Big Store with Lower Food Prices," and it remains the same today. In addition, they have the freshest produce outside of Canino's on Airline. Not only fresh but plentiful. You can find any kind of produce here - guaranteed. This Fiesta is sort of like the Wal-Mart of the bunch. Not only do they have groceries, but they also have a deli, coffee bar, bakery, fish market, sausage/charcuterie shop (called "salchicera" in Spanish) and even clothing and gifts! WOW! I swear, you could spend hours here just browsing. And also - the people watching potential is endless. Since this Fiesta is right where the Latino/Asian/Indian/Middle Eastern/African neighborhoods merge, the store reflects all of these cultures, right down to the clientele. It's like the Constantinople of gastronomy. But I digress. The only reason this Fiesta doesn't rate the coveted Peter Hughes Five-Star Rating is because (a) the parking situation is spotty - not enough spaces for clientele and (b) they have cut back on their frozen Indian entrees, which was what I came in here for in the first place. But, hey - you can't win 'em all. So, friends and neighbors, if you want to spice up your weekend shopping, take my advice and make a beeline to this Fiesta. It won't let you down. read more

I had a bad experience at Fiesta, located at Bellaire Blvd and Hilcroft. I went shopping there and was asked by Lasely, the manager there, to give me my driver's license to use the electric car inside the store. So, I gave it to her, and after finishing my shopping, I returned to her to request my license. To my surprise, she gave my right to a co-worker of hers. That was not acceptable to me or anyone else. The worst part is that Vanessa, the other manager was very rude and started shouting and attacking my daughter and me with words and asked us to leave the store. Vanessa, the manager, was yelling and crying in front of all the customers and the employees. She was very aggressive to the extent that she asked us to stand by the store door. Of course, we refused. It took half an hour for me to get my license back from Lacely. By the way, I am 78 years, and Vanessa did not respect my age; she was so mean. Both of them are so careless and unfit for the job. They were so upset that I panicked when I did not find my license. I would like to know how they would feel if their licenses were given to someone else. read more

Fiesta Marts are a Houston original. I remember going to them in the 80's and there was nothing else like it where you could get fresh produce, hard to find international foods, and overall, it was an experience. In the following decades I'm not sure whether my taste and budget became too fancy or Fiesta hasn't kept up but I usually do prefer HEB and Trader Joes. I do however still have a sweet spot for this particular Fiesta. I've been told that this is the original one and is pretty much how I remember Fiesta. There is a food vendor of some sort outside the door, they have a butcher shop that saws chickens in half, and it's pretty clean. The produce isn't as good as I remember however and you won't find organic local market stuff, but the price is reasonable and they cater to their main customer base. Other things you won't expect to find in a regular grocery store: School uniforms, shoes, Church's chicken, and various small shops. If you're new to Houston and haven't ever come to a Fiesta, try it. You may be fish out of water at first and the parking lot is pretty hectic but it'll be worth it. read more

Look. I love this store. But it is not for wussies. Okay?! It helps if you have a little bit of "hood" in you. Like yours truly. This parking lot can be annoying because the spaces are pretty tight. Also grab a shopping cart out there if you see one, because sometimes they run out (you can hire someone to carry your stuff inside, but that can get pricey). They have great prices on pork shoulders/butt/picnic roast. Like Mexican Coke? huh? HUH? Well amigo, guess what. they have an entire aisle of Mexican soda. Cane sugar brother. Mexican bread? check. Tortillas? check. Lingerie for the girlfriend? check (between the baked goods and dairy). Lucky candle so you can win the powerball lotto? check. Cowboy boots/cell phone repair guy/watch repair guy/optometrist/electroshock therapy/passport services/wealth management/Church's chicken? check, check, check, check,check--CHECK!!!!!!!!!!! Can't afford a trip to South America? Hate hipsters and their uppity holier than thou 'artisan' grocery stores??? Tired of spending $80 for 4 items at Whole Foods???? Fiesta Mart #7 - just a little bit crowded - Grocery Near Me - Houston, Texas

I shopped this afternoon at Fiesta Mart #7 (grocery). I was double charged for a pound of Land O Lakes butter, so I called to ask for a credit to be issued. Oswaldo, the manager on duty was hatd to understand. He asked what register (and was unable to explain where that would be) and a lot of other information. He then said that I would have to drive back to the store to receive my $3.49 credit. I will do that on Monday at 7 a.m. to talk to the real store manager, Mr. Joseph Diaz. I need to ask WHY there is no barrel or box to recycle the thousands of plastic bags that they send out the front door loaded with groceries each week? They need to be responsible corporate citizens to reduce the amount of plastic that they cause to not be recycled. Now Fiesta Grocery (owned by Grocer's Mart) please put a recycle bin by your front doors and figure out how to educate/motivate/and coerce their customers to comply. At this time, I would NOT go to this Fiesta Mart. I went this morning and it was PACKED and masks were on people's heads, chins, under noses, and no one was respectful of space or distancing at all. I felt like I was going to catch all kinds of bugs, not just Covid19! The lemons and limes were not in good shape either- spotty, hard and when I got home I realized one was actually half-way spoiled. This is one of the nicer Fiesta Mart's I've been into as of late. Most of the more locations in more minority-heavy neighborhoods tend to be a bit more run down, but this location is well-lit, clean, and has one of the nicest Church's Chicken storefronts right at the entrance to give you a meal. They even have little marketplace shops out front so you can grab elotes or knockoff items. I brought my girlfriend and her mom here so the latter could grab groceries. My girlfriend and I settled in at the back in a rather sizeable café/bakery space with mokalitas (Nescafe Clasico + Abuelita chocolate) and pan dulce. Not only were they excellent, they were much cheaper than the coffee and pastries you get at the cafés in an H-E-B or Whole Foods. We roamed the store to find my girlfriend's mother, finding pretty much everything we needed efficiently. The store is very well laid out and the shelves are well stocked. It's not quite as nice as the one off Kirby, but it's one of the best in town. read more

If you've been going to Whole Foods for your international fare, you've been shopping at the wrong (and excessively more expensive) supermarket. There are several Fiesta's around Houston, and other cities in Texas, but the Bellaire and Hillcroft location is by far one of the biggest and my all-time favorite. I usually refer to this place as "Little Mexico," because it's like walking into a vibrant Mexican town rather than a chain supermarket. Before even stepping inside you'll find various vendors selling anything from glittery tube tops and velvety blankets adorned with tigers to grilled corn on the cob. Inside you can find tax and immigration lawyers, cell phone vendors, and the nicest and most helpful watch repairman ever (he collects foreign currency and pictures of Salma Hayek if you have them!). Besides the novelty and variety of its vendors, Fiesta's food selection is out of control. While the name and majority of the clientele would imply this supermarket only carries Mexican fare, you'll find a huge selection of Indian, South American, European and South and Southeast Asian products as well. I've purchased great Persian teas and Indian spices, Asian vegetables and Argentinian sweets, along with random European products. In addition, the produce prices and selection are outstanding. I don't eat meat, but I've had friends say they don't trust it here. That's up to you to decide, but I will comment on the seafood section's overpowering smell! I'm not afraid to admit that I sometimes come here just for fun, but I'm also kind of obsessed with supermarkets. Go here, it's awesome! read more

I love the variety! It's confusing to find what I want sometimes. The store is enormous and difficult to navigate... Great selection of fresh produce, however I rely on HEB to give me the rest. Fiesta has high prices for little things, and doesn't offer quality greek yogurt, among it all. The prices for frozen food, aka Pizza! Is double of Kroger...but if you really want pizza, whatever! I have been coming here for years and this is the place to go to find international products. I always go to Fiesta to find my products from Colombia. It is not just a supermarket there are other services there that provide for the customers. There is a watch repair service, chase bank, customer services, beauty salon, eyebrow thread, jewelry store,travel agent, church's chicken, and pawn shop. It's an all in one. Fiesta also has great prices usually on the weekends and when there is a holiday. There is not a membership card where you can get points or use it for a discount like Kroger but depending on the day there are great prices. It would be convenient to have a discount card shoppers card where you can also get points. But all in all it is a great store and I would recommend it! read more

This place is the best mart ever! I love it so much just moved here from Canada and I am in love. It is so cheap and convenient. The only thing is they don't have basmati rice but everything else is amazing here. It's amazing place to get all your cravings and grocery's at an affordable pricing. This parking lot is safer from the time is is open to close. They don't allow peddlers and homeless bother people. All races and colors are seen here and every cares. I have made a few stops at this Fiesta and I can assure you that this place is a must for anyone needing "international" foods or ingredients when you can't locate specific items anywhere else. Most of the international fare is South American but there are some Mediterranean and European to be found. The store itself is overall clean laid out in a manner that makes it easy to locate items quickly. The employees are helpful and friendly. Prices are very reasonable. As with most groceries today, there are a few smaller shops located within. There is the ever present nail salon as well as a bank and even a Church's chicken. I've not utilized any of these and can't comment on them except to say they seem busy. The produce section is well stocked and fresh and has a nice variety. They sell many types of rice and spices. The meat department looks fresh, as well, with no question all smells or colors. The bakery has some excellent fresh baked goods. The tres leches is popular and for good reason. It's flavorful, creamy, rich and delicately sweet. It's one of the better tres leches and one of my top two favorite ones in the Houston area. Besides food you can find several neat cooking gadgets and knick knacks. It's a relatively busy store and the parking lot can get crowded but there is plenty of parking so no worries. Shopping at this Fiesta is enjoyable and interesting. If you are ever in need of a hard to find international type ingredient, check this grocery. It's good all around. read more

LOL I love this Fiesta. Whenever I want to feel like an oddball in my own city, I come here, because this store feels like you're in another country. If you were an almost 6' tall white chick, you'd understand because this store is in the middle of what i call 'Little El Salvador,' but that's what makes it fun, no? Gotta love being able to feel like you're leaving the country by driving a few miles down to Bellaire! Of all the Fiestas in town, I feel this one tends to have the most diverse selection of goodies and the most ROLLIN' tres leches ever. Like ever ever!!! If you're lucky enough to go into this store and you see this little short women selling sheets of tres leches cake, do yourself a favor and buy atleast a piece or two. I wish this one carried a bit more european fare, I seem to never fail to leave this store without a basketfull. read more

The food selection is great for many different nationalities. My wife said most of the time the employees are nice and helpful but a couple of times they made comments about her beauty and she felt uncomfortable. I would shop at this Fiesta from time to time when I lived in the area. I haunted the one that used to be on the corner of FM1960 and Kuykendahl before it closed for good around 1993 or so. This plus Place does have a large selection of produce that you won't find at regular stores. I go there a lot because it's just a little over a mile from where I live. I prefer to go to H-E-B on Fountainview and San Felipe but it's a little bit far. One complaint about this store the bathroom smell like pee and are not very clean. read more
