They used to be so much better. Customer service isn't great and if I'm not getting part of my order, to them just not adding it, then it's wrong. Even if I had to tell them 4 times! And my food was cold too when we got home and took it out of the bag. I don't mean it was still a little warm I mean COLD I paid $22 for a bag of chips and queso but the queso was the hottest ( spice - it was cold too)queso I have ever had. So hot we couldn't eat it. Even my son who likes spicy food said it was ridiculously hot. There is another Mexican restaurant that we haven't tried and think we are going to try that instead of coming back there. Last time we ate in the restaurant they weren't busy at all yet our server never checked on us once! This place has really gone down hill. We've been coming to this family restaurant for more than 10 years and I have to say that in the last few months they have completely exceeded our expectations. The staff seem to all be having fun at work, helping each other and greeting everyone with joy and excitement. The food has always been good but somehow they have made it better! We were at the table for less than 15 min and our food was out and delicious. On a Saturday night no less. Whatever they are doing it's definitely working. I always get the veggie fajitas and the table gets free chips with salsa. You can pay extra for a side of queso to dip. My coworkers love the margaritas here. My biggest disappointment is that the take out boxes are Styrofoam so I would advise bringing your own container. They are good about being attentive though. We like dine at different places when we go out. We were in Gambier for a swim meet, and we decided to try Mexican food. I have never experienced a Mexican buffet, so I really wanted to see what the hubbub was all about. The service was great! Very tastefully decorated, the buffet was very good. Not really sure how to or what to do, I made a huge taco bowl with a little bit of everything up there. I kind a look like Rodney Dangerfield on the movie back to school when he was making a sandwich. I kind of did my own thing, and it turned out delicious! The food, service, salsa and margaritas are consistently yummy. I've tried most of the items on their menu and you really can't get a bad meal here. Food was good. Service was better. Coming from being raised in Northern California I have high standards of what Mexican food should be like. I had the pollo loco and was happy with my choice. My wife however got the chicken tostada and quesadilla combo plate and was not as pleased. The tostada had a very "peppery" taste to it unlike none I've ever had her try before. That and the lack of salsa choices is why this visit did not rate 5 stars. I like choices and I love spicy, this place does not offer that when it comes to salsa. The menu however has a lot to choose from. We will be back to try some other dishes hopefully with better results. read more

Clean booths, seats included. They are always quick with the chips and salsa and will bring you more if you finish the basket. Entrees are reasonably priced and delicious. We are visiting Kenyon College and chose this place based on yelp reviews. I cannot comprehend how anyone can give this place 5 stars!! If I could give this zero stars, I would. Food was horrendous. Atmosphere was clean but definitely cheap and tacky. But I don't mind tacky if the food is good but this is not even close. Margaritas are made from a mix. Carne asada was overlooked shoe leather. Menu is extensive which I thought was promising but I should have taken the server's big hint to heart. I asked for his recommendation on what was best on the menu and he said - I kid you not - nothing, I don't like this food!! I chalked it up as someone w different taste but man, he was right on the money! This was beyond bad!!!! Almost inedible if it weren't for the canned retried beans. I'm still in search of a great meal in Mt. Vernon... After this visit I'm once again disappointed. I'll start with the chips and salsa. Nothing great... 1 pretty HOT complimentary salsa. My BF ordered 29 and he said it was ok. I ordered 78 or 79. 2 shrimp and 2 crab enchiladas. I asked for white flour tortillas and white cheese. They got that right however the crab was loaded with tomatoes and onions BOTH of which I don't like with my seafood, nor was it on the menu. I asked our waiter if it could be made with just crab and he said no. He didn't offer a discount, and I don't know why they can't just make it no onions or tomatoes but they weren't willing to try or offer anything else or partial refund. As a business owner I appreciate great customer service and we not only had a very stagnant waiter, but this was just not a great first visit. We ordered the fried ice cream. Clearly the balls of ice cream are pre made cause the corn flakes were stale n chewy:((( The food was just very OK, service less then friendly and place was super noisy... Not impressed. My kids, friends, and I just ate at this restaurant. First we waited forever to be served drinks. Then I ordered vegetarian fajitas. It did not come with tortillas, lettuce, tomato or guacamole. I asked for a small plate of tomato, lettuce, and guacamole. They charged me $3 for shredded lettuce, tomato and small scope of guacamole. Better nicknamed as simply 'Fiesta' by locals like myself, this & the downtown location is my favorite restaurant in town. Every time I go we get plenty of their complimentary chips and salsa, as well as their queso dip. I am addicted to both, as they are delicious. My favorite dish is their enchiladas suizas, which is 2 chicken and 2 beef enchiladas covered in the addictive queso dip with a side of rice and beans. Their food is reasonably priced, friendly staff (my family knows many of them) & welcoming atmosphere. Bathrooms are always clean as well which is a plus for me. I love their margaritas (I'll warn you they like to make them strong) and Beer. For the kids and non drinkers, their bottled soda is good (I can't remember the brand name).
