I don't normally write long reviews, but after what I went through, I hope this helps someone considering Fife and Steffen Endodontics -- especially if you're paying out of pocket like I am. My tooth pain started on July 27th and initially felt like it was coming from teeth #18 or #19. Over the next week and a half, I saw three different doctors, including a general dentist, my regular dentist, and an endodontist. I went through multiple X-rays, cold tests, tapping tests, a CT scan, and even had different areas of my mouth numbed to locate the pain. Despite all of this, no one could determine what was wrong. As the pain became severe, it started feeling more concentrated around my crown on tooth #14, with sharp pain, tenderness, and lingering sensitivity to cold. Still, I was told the problem might not be dental and could possibly be neurological or sinus-related. At this point, I was frustrated, exhausted, and starting to question myself because I strongly felt something was being overlooked. Desperate for another opinion, I scheduled appointments with 3 different primary health institutions. Still thinking this is an oversight and dental issue, I found Fife and Steffen Endodontics and called them. Even though this was technically my FOURTH opinion, they treated my situation with urgency and got me in the very next day. Dr. Phan was incredible. He patiently listened to my entire story, asked detailed questions about the timeline, repeated the necessary tests, and went even further by carefully numbing specific nerves around the crown to isolate the source of the pain. He was finally able to confirm that I DID in fact need a root canal. I actually teared up when he told me because after seeing three doctors and being told it might not even be my tooth, I finally felt heard and reassured that I wasn't imagining what I was feeling. Dr. Phan thoroughly explained everything, helped manage my pain until treatment, explained what to expect afterward, and even made himself available by phone/text if I needed anything. You don't normally walk into offices where you feel a team really working together, especially when their offices are separated by walls. But at Fife and Steffen Endodontics, you felt their passion to care and the warmness you would feel in a home. Thank you, Dr. Phan and the entire Fife and Steffen team, for listening, validating what I was experiencing, and going the extra mile when I desperately needed someone to. After everything I went through, I am incredibly grateful that my fourth opinion led me here. Total scam! They are tied into Bocca Dental w Dr. B. Dr. b sent me there for some pre crowns for buildup post etc! Thought I was in good hands! Even sent my wife to this guy! Yeah year later everything failed! And they still trying to collect money from me! Are you kidding me! 2 crowns that didn't take because of lack of understanding x-rays? If the jib was too much you should have came clean wand said we can't do this, nah. Thousands of dollars stolen from the insurance company and a close to a grand from me. Not a good practice. Missing 2 crowns because of this place and Dr. B at Bocca park dental. (They were in on it together) Good one guys! Caught me off guard. I really like Dr Fife. He's straight forward & surprisingly fast. I've noticed root canal procedures aren't as bothersome for me when he performs them vs my regular dentist. It might be the equipment, not sure. If I didn't live almost an hour away I'd probably have him do them regularly as I seem to be in need of them since menopause. Ugh... If only the novocaine wore off as fast as he did the procedure. Hopefully I won't need anymore work requiring an endo but if I do, he'll be my first call. read more

I am incredibly thankful to have been referred to such a talented and compassionate team. I was originally scheduled to see Dr. Fife next week, but I woke up this morning in unbearable pain. There is a reason why this place has nothing but amazing reviews. The care and compassion I received here were nothing short of amazing. Dr. Richards and his staff were so polite and friendly and explained EVERYTHING so clearly. Nothing was rushed and Dr. Richards took his time to explain exactly what was wrong with my root and exactly what he was going to do step by step to fix it. They took great care in making sure I was comfortable throughout the whole procedure, took new films to review their work, showed me what they did and they were going to send a copy to my primary dentist too so he can do my crown. They are worth the wait even if it takes a few days to get in, they have high standards for their quality of work and it truly shows. Dr. Richards even texted me later that night to make sure I was okay. Next Level care! If I ever need an endodontist again, they will be my ONLY call. Going to share with friends and family as well! The front desk staff was super friendly and got me checked in quickly -- I only waited about 10 minutes before the doctor came in to numb me for my root canal. I had one of the worst dental experiences of my life at Fife and Steffen Endodontics. I truly wish I had read the 1-star reviews on Yelp and Google before going in for treatment, because unfortunately my experience was very similar to what many of those reviewers described. I was referred to the office by my dentist for evaluation, and Dr. Steffen described the root canal as a straightforward procedure. At no point was I warned that my existing crown could break during treatment. After the procedure, I was told my crown had broken and that I would now need to pay my general dentist for a completely new crown. I was shocked because I came into the office with no pain and a perfectly intact crown. The explanation I received was simply "sorry," which I did not feel adequately addressed the situation. Unfortunately, the problems continued after I left the office. The temporary filling fell out that evening, and later the entire crown came off when I gently rinsed my mouth. There was also confusion with my prescription dosage between the written prescription and the electronic prescription sent to the pharmacy. After the visit, I even received a text message asking for feedback. I gave my honest feedback regarding my experience, and no one from the office ever responded or followed up. What was supposed to be a straightforward procedure turned into additional unexpected dental expenses and a very stressful experience overall. Given the extremely high Yelp and Google ratings for this office, I honestly expected a much higher level of care, communication, and accountability. Scheduled me in within two weeks and the day of my appointment I was able to get my service done. The front staff was welcoming and the doctor was very informing and detailed about my procedure. Dr. Steffen was amazing did absolutely great job I couldn't even feel any pressure in my mouth He has a super gentle touch, which is hard to find with the doctors these days. Went in for a root canal, but did not need it instead. I had surgery to clean the infection off. The bone felt like I was only there for like 20 minutes. Definitely highly recommend this place . I have the worst anxiety when it comes to dental work Dr. Steffen Made me feel super comfortable . I've had to have two root canals in the past couple of years, with the most recent one this morning. I cracked a back molar a couple of weeks ago and was having some pain in that tooth. I could not be more impressed with Dr. Steffen and the entire staff at this facility. Clean, state of the art, professional, and prepared. Root canals sound scary, but their professionalism and confidence sets you at ease immediately. When I cracked my molar I knew I would need a root canals, yet wasn't scared or anxious because I knew exactly where to go. Dr. Steffen explained the procedure and potential complications, as well as what to expect with my recovery. They were able to save the tooth, perform the procedure in less than an hour, and I left smiling (albeit a bit crookedly). I came here for a root canal and I was so incredibly nervous. I cannot say enough about Dr. Steffen. He is very friendly. He is both very professional and very serious about his work. He truly cares and I had a difficult task at hand with a tooth that had calcified and he did an amazing job getting to the root of the problem. He performed a perfect root canal, and I had no pain. Anesthesia could not have been more perfect in terms of where he placed the anesthetic, and I appreciate that because it usually takes at least two shots to get me numb and he did it in one. If I had to recommend anyone for a root canal, I would send them this way. This is an incredible office with wonderful endodontists that are extremely knowledgeable and want to be confident that they will do the best job possible to make sure they get the best outcomes for their patients. Friendly & Professional. I was there for a root canal and they made me feel very comfortable.

I was referred to Dr. Fife by my primary dentist as a difficult procedure was necessary - there was a cavity under an old crown/root canal and there was MERCURY under the crown. In order to SAFELY remove Mercury, a specific technique is a "rubber dam" (to contain the Mercury) is needed, along with the expertise to properly do the removal. I was told by another dentist that this might not be possible and that the tooth may have to be extracted.... Dr. Fife was able to remove the crown & mercury, clean out the three canals, re-seal and do the build-up for the new crown PAINLESSLY, in under 45 minutes. I was impressed, grateful and pleased with every aspect of his performance of duties; he is extremely skilled & knowledgeable, professional, considerate and empathic. During the procedure Dr. Fife frequently asked if "I was doing okay", as did his assistant. They worked in tandem to complete the necessary work, keeping me informed along the way. Dr. Fife's ability to administer the injections of numbing agent were precise (I never felt any pain during the procedure) and nearly painless. When the work was completed the dental assistant walked me to the front desk where she gave me precise instructions regarding "aftercare". The administrative folks were as compassionate and competent as the doctor himself; they had "done their homework" before my arrival, so there was only one short form to fill out, and they will bill my insurance company and let me know if I have a co-pay. And.... they have a lovely variety of flavored ChapStick (I chose coconut) to select as a parting gift! If I need an Endodontist in the future (I likely will, as I have a mouth full of old crowns), Dr. Fife will always be my first choice! p.s. No more Mercury in my mouth! I am so happy about this, as I have had autoimmune issues in the past and Mercury is a huge neurotoxin - if you have Mercury fillings, let Dr. Fife remove it... read more

I started feeling serious throbbing pain in one of my far back teeth that only lessened when using Ibuprofen every 6-8 hours. My dentist referred me to this Endodontics office, telling me they were great at what they do. I contacted æFife and Steffen Endodontics" today and fortunately for me, they had an opening today. During my visit today, I was cordially greeted by "Abby" at the front counter and she was very efficient and courteous. I was then called back by a dental assistant (I think that's her title!) named Joanne. She took my X-rays and very courteously explained the process of what she and Dr. Fife would be doing. When Dr. Fife came in he explained what was going on with my tooth (dying roots!) and exactly what he was going to do for the Root-Canal procedure. He numbed the area quickly and with very little pain during the two injections. His entire procedure took less than 30 minutes from start to finish and I felt absolutely no pain at any time. This is the first time I have had a major dental procedure that I did not feel serious pain throughout. I was shocked and very pleasantly surprised. Additionally, I wanted to mention how impressed I was with how incredibly well Dr. Fife and Dental Assistant Joanne worked together. I have never seen such smooth working crew in a dental office and I have been to many over the years. Joanne seemed to know everything Dr. Fife needed without him having to ask. Then I wanted to add that during my check out process, I was helped by again by "Addy" (unk. spelling!). Addy too was very helpful, professional and ultra courteous. I cannot complement this Endodontist office enough. I am sitting here in my home waiting for the numbness in my mouth to subside, thinking how lucky I am to have had this procedure done by "Fife and Steffen Endodontists." I will definitely continue to go here for any such needs in the future and will definitely refer anyone I hear looking for a good Endodontist to them. The location I actually went to is on Ft Apache, which seems like it's probably a new second location. It's super close to my home so it was perfect, and also almost across the street from my general dentist. The interior looks super nice and clean. The staff all gave off the super friendly vibes so it had very pleasant and comforting vibes. I had Dr Richards and he was very friendly and easy to communicate with. He is always open to answering your questions and will patiently explain anything. I was referred here (I picked from the 2 options my dentist gave me) due to needing a root canal through my crown. The one part I was most NOT looking forward to was the numbing shot, but it was actually way less painful than I had remembered from past experiences. It was really tame in comparison. Was really pleasantly surprising. They also text for appointment reminders (and you can reply to them, too) and Dr Richards also texted me afterwards to check up on me. The Dentist did not need to drill through my bridge to do the two root canal. Now it's adds to my out of pocket expense to fix the bridge? They fix one thing but ruin something else. Be mindful, you will be slapped with an extra bill for X-rays /exams as by the time you are sent to them you use up the one exam the insurance allows. I went $90 out of pocket after they took $2500 for 2 root canals. read more
