This review is long overdue. I started going to Fighting Fit about two months before everything closed because of Covid. For those two months, I absolutely loved it. The trainers were amazing, the class times matched with my schedule, they had a mix of boxing and Boot Camp classes which I really loved. I started off with a six week challenge, and lost 14 pounds in six weeks. It was a great way to gain motivation and see results quickly. When everything shut down, I was worried that I would lose the motivation that I had just recently found. Luckily, the owners decided to sell some of their old boxing bags to clients at that time so I purchased one for home and it saved my fitness! The owners are super creative and were able to solution remote classes for their members. The virtual live classes didn't fit my schedule, but I was able to watch recorded sessions, and that got me through the next year. They opened the gym sooner than that, but I didn't feel comfortable going back with Covid still at large and me with a new baby in tow (yes, COVID baby boom got me too). The owners were super accommodating, met with me remotely often, and tried to find a way to meet my needs even though I was just one of many members. I took a few personal training sessions with the owner, Forrest, and learned so much during those brief sessions. I have knee issues and have since I was 17, so I was a little wary trying out a new boxing gym of all things, but the trainers are really wonderful and cater to each of the members. I can't say enough good things about Fighting Fit. The owners really go out of their way to accommodate their members, they host fun member events and are really creative in finding new ways to grow and evolve.

**UPDATED REVIEW** Since my original review posted in April of 2011 a lot has changed both personally and with Fighting Fit Bootcamp! After about 5 months of getting in shape with Fighting Fit as a client, I certified to became a Fighting Fit coach. in addition to still offering awesome bootcamp and fitness kickboxing programs, we also have a new Krav Maga self defense class I'm really pumped about! I've had the awesome experience of facilitating classes for our members over the years and seen so many reach their goals and gain strength and confidense. I've attended a few of the Krav Maga classes and can't believe the level of skill and instruction these guys offer. I believe in our programs and workouts, otherwise I wouldn't be here every week with a smile on my face. I hope if you've been thinking about joining a neighborhood type gym, that you contact us and come try a class for free. If you're interested in learning some self defense techniques, come check out our killer Krav Maga program! Hannah C. 4/14/2011 Just finished the first two weeks for free as advertised and this place rocks! Great programs, great people, the time flies and you push yourself while having fun. Coach Mike seems pretty down to earth. You can tell he has a lot of fitness knowledge to pass along, and wants to see and help you succeed. It's a new place so the classes have been smaller, perfect if you are just getting into the whole fighting workout scene or have done it before. Gotta say, there is nothing like these workouts!

I've gone to this gym for about a year now, along with my wife. Mike is a great guy, very helpful and always willing to answer questions. The classes are fun, and very challenging, but self paced, so they won't challenge you if you do not challenge yourself. If you aren't ready to toss some cookies then you aren't pushing as hard as you can. The classes are different every day, always mixing things up. There are a few different instructors for various times during the day/week. I've sweat a lot at this gym, and have done more lunges and squats here than I have total the rest of my life. I have just finished attending this gym, wanting to do some work on machines, and can't afford here and 24Hr Fitness, so unfortunately I must move on. I need to strengthen some areas that seem to be causing me injury when doing what would otherwise be easy workouts. Don't pass this gym up if you live nearby and want a serious challenge and want to get in some of the best shape of your life. Because of this gym I was able to do physical tasks I never would of before thought possible, putting some of my military counterparts to shame.

the Bootcamp class stretching out at the end of their killer workout!

I was told have too much pride by a student there in the mist of him yelling. He also called me out saying letting me get in there with him. I replied your 100 lbs heavier than me. He continued on and on and approaching me even calling me a bitch. That is when the coach started to intervene and say you might as well shut up because there's only so much of him that I can control his exact words as I caught the drift and he continued on saying that I teed off on one of his guys as I hit him with a body shot and he was the second guy I faced, but they were trying to drop me with headshot so I see no issues as that's what the Coach was calling for them to do to me and I went to his body. But as soon as I disagreed and said, I did not tee off on him he took off his glasses and said you're really starting to piss me off proceeded to jump down from standing ring side grabbed me, shook me up as I was out of breath still trying to walk out the door because he was kicking me out I couldn't even make it to my stuff and pick it up in a timely manner as he was stalking me tell me I wasn't moving quick and then again proceeded to snatch me up and push me out the door as soon as I could pick up my bag, I agreed on leaving and this action was totally unnecessary and humiliating as a fighter as I just let him do his thing as it's his gym and I felt like I was in position to get jumped. I called the police so a police report has been filed. As if I even tried to stop him from assaulting me, I know there would have been greater conflict as once he took off his glasses and didn't try to reason I started to realize there was no bringing him back. I have not been training long or any really in a boxing gym and would have loved to know what I did so wrong especially since I did not start the confrontation and ultimately this is just unsettling and I don't want anyone else to be in the situation that's why was a necessity for me to type this to go ahead and move on as the Coaches name was BRIAN MOSS and even after calling the police they just wrote it up as assault by contact which most likely nothing will be done, but that gave him opportunity to file trespassing against me and I am not allowed in that gym for at least a year this is now conflicts with me doing a smoker and other training so coming out of the situation I actually lost more. Sorry about the grammar and punctuation. Just wanted to get this out of my head so I used the voice to text to complete. Hope I can give some insight on unity combat club to anyone who cares.

I've always loved training in martial arts because it's a great way to get in an excellent workout all while focusing on continuous self-improvement, but I never imagined how much I would enjoy the community-focused gym environment at Fighting Fit. The coaches and fellow students are some of the friendliest and most welcoming people you'll ever meet, and there's something for everyone. For those wanting to meet their fitness goals and live healthier lives, the Fitness Kickboxing and Boot Camp classes are a fantastic workout, and the gym has a really active private Facebook group and frequently holds team challenges and other fun activities to keep you engaged and feeling like a part of the community. Coach Forrest and Coach Sarah even offer nutrition coaching to fully round out their holistic approach to helping members meet their health and fitness goals. Those interested in advancing their martial arts skills should also feel right at home. I can't say enough about how much I enjoy the Muay Thai, Jeet Kune Do, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes. I highly recommend checking them out no matter your previous experience -- the coaches and other students will work with you at your skill level, and you may even decide to start training for competition like some of our members. Learning from Coach Corey has been the highlight of my year, and I've genuinely loved going to class to learn and practice techniques with my fellow classmates (as well as to spar with the more advanced students). While I'm moving out of state and unfortunately can't pack up the gym and all its members in a box to take with me when I go, I will never forget my Fighting Fit family! I highly recommend this gym for anyone looking for a new one to call their own.

After enrolling, paying the signup costs, and purchasing required gear, I attended classes for a short period (month or two). During that time, I experienced multiple illnesses due to what I can assume a dirty/uncleaned Matt setting and ultimately had an interaction with a coach/member that caused me to discontinue training entirely. The coach informed me that another member was uncomfortable with me. I repeatedly asked what specific behavior I had engaged in so I could understand the concern and avoid repeating it. I was never given an explanation. As a new student, being told I made someone uncomfortable while not being told what I had done left me feeling embarrassed, confused, and unwelcome... I was so excited to belong somewhere and finally get back into something I used to love doing, and it turned disastrous very quickly for me. The following day, another coach acknowledged that the conversation could have been handled differently, which confirmed for me that the situation was not addressed well. When I later requested cancellation, I felt that my concerns were entirely dismissed and the focus remained on blaming me, and contract enforcement and termination fees rather than addressing why I no longer felt comfortable attending. This was my personal experience. Others may have had a different one, but I would encourage prospective members to thoroughly understand the contract terms, cancellation policy, and financial commitments before signing.
