Fiji Nails has a large selection of nail polish choices. The staff is very nice and accommodating. You can even get a neck massage while you get a manicure or pedicure. Against my better judgement, I came here yesterday because it's nearby. Last time I went I waited close to 40 minutes while they kept helping people who had arrived after me. I chalked it up to being busy and gave them another chance. My pedicure experience was great. The woman who did my pedi took time to do a nice job and was very nice and thorough. Sadly the good customer service ended there. They then sat me in a chair to have my nails done where I kept getting passed from one nail tech to another. I was watching (again) other customers around me who had arrived after me getting helped, while I waited awhile for someone to notice me. I'm not sure what was going on with my second nail technician, but she seemed very irritated and abrupt. I asked for a refill to my acrylic nails that had gel on top. She kept asking me who did my nails last time, and I explained it was another woman at the same salon who did my nails about 2.5 weeks ago. She kept saying how badly they were done, and I agreed, explaining that I had a nail pop off completely (while not doing any manual labor or anything) which has never happened to me. She then told me I needed to pay 5$ for the nail that popped off. I politely agreed. She then tells me I need to pay an extra $3 for my other 9 nails, because they are in such bad shape and were poorly done. She then begins lecturing me on taking care of my nails (?!?) and also said I would be charged more because they are so long. I explained that I would not be paying an extra $27 for the poor quality work done by her coworker. I can assure you that I did nothing crazy with my nails that would have resulted in them being so "irreparable" (I work on a computer and don't work out or do anything that would damage them) and my nails were not any crazy length. Not sure if they are hurting for money, but this experience to me was unacceptable. The woman's demeanor was very rude and aggressive. I can overlook certain things, but to be shaken down for money due to poor service I received last time..? That I can't get behind. The decline in customer service at this salon is upsetting, as it looks like they upgraded the inside quite a bit. Hope I can spare others from frustrating experiences like this one! read more

I've have been here several times. I started going here, because of their hours. Over time the service as declined tremendously. They usually try to rush you into doing your feet and hands simultaneously. Their dip powder selections have been damaged by the sun due to the placement on the counter. Today, I showed up to get a gel mani/spa pedi. The guy told me to pick out my color. As I am picking out my color, two ladies enter and ask how quick can they get pedicures? I selected my color before them and went back to the front. The ladies chose their colors and asked if they needed to go to the front? He took them directly over to the vacant spa pedicure chairs and began filling the tubs. I waited for him to come back to the front. I gave him back his nail polish and I let him know that he would be losing my business. I called Eagle Nails (a little over a mile) at 48 W. Eagle Rd. in Havertown then went there. Their selection of colors was great! The attention to details was on point! Everyone was friendly, playful, and seemed to enjoy their work environment (even though they were due to close soon). Wish I could rate this place lower than a 1. I have my goto nail salon but they don't do acrylic so I came here. The women that worked here were unbelievably rude and unwelcoming. In the middle of doing my nails the woman left for about 10 min to do someone's eyebrows. My nails look horrible. She didn't even touch my cuticles. I will never be back and will make sure everyone knows not to goto figi nails. They should be embarrassed. Waste of time and money and will have to go somewhere else to get them fixed tomorrow. read more

Fiji Nail spa used to be my go to... Until I realized what good acrylics looked like. They have poor service - I was seated almost immediately, and someone started to do my nails, until someone else came into the spa and they rushed over to them, so I had to wait around 30-40 minutes for them to continue - it was very upsetting. I was super happy with my manicure I got here on Saturday after Thanksgiving. I got a gel manicure, and this is the first time I've had a manicure last more than one day. it's been 3 days and still no chips. I think the price was very reasonable. we didn't have to wait for service. The woman who painted my 5 year old's nails was very nice. I went on this page after leaving the salon and I'm not even surprised most people had the same experience as I did. I came here maybe a year ago (do not get my nails done often), and had a pretty good experience, and the place is close to my work. When I sat down, the woman who was doing my feet said nothing to me. I told her the water was too hot on my feet and she just looked bothered (it was burning hot!). And she didn't talk to me the whole time, just spoke to her coworkers around her and ignored me. The lady came over and did my eyebrows, she was pretty nice. Then when I had my toes drying, I got a massage, which was good too. When I was done, I had a similar experience as most people on here - I paid debit and gave the girl who did my toes a $5 tip. She asked "you going to tip her for your eyebrows?" I felt like a jerk, so I went to the ATM to get more cash just to tip her, and the massage lady. I know they purposely have multiple people work on you for this reason... but tips are optional, and if you're doing eyebrows, you shouldn't expect more than like $2. read more

Have been going to Fiji Nail Salon for quite a while now. I did like it previously before today's encounter. I walked in picked a color and waited patiently while waiting for a nail technician. 7 people walked in after me and were greeted and instructed where to sit and what to do. I looked around and made eye contact with several employees who quickly looked away. When the owner came up and saw me I asked who was doing my nails and why I had been helped after the people Who came in after me and was given multiple excuses 1.they were waiting for me to pick a color, which had already been done 2. Most techs don't know how to use dip powder 3. My nails needed to be wrapped. Several other ladies had their nails wrapped before me and were seated with techs that do what i was there to get. I felt highly offended and chose to leave and take my business elsewhere. I spend on average 75 when i go there every two weeks and am an excellent tipper. I'm outraged by the manner in which I was ignored and treated. I'm not quick to pull the race card ever- it makes me cringe -but all of the other women serviced before me were white women and I really hope and pray Fiji Nail Salon use better business practices. I tried this place three times. I believe the only positive aspect about this place is it's location. My biggest concern is how they disinfect their tools. After the nail technician finished she just wiped her tools down and put them back into her pencil box... I asked how they sterilize their tools but they didn't speak English and had to call someone to translate... even then I still didn't get a clear answer. I've been to this nail salon a couple of times out of necessity. It's not a salon I would choose to go. The techs are ridiculously aggressive and rude. Went in to get a quick polish change on my way to job interview. Polish change was $5 and I literally only had five ones on me, they do not take cards for anything less than $10 or maybe $20 can't remember fully. I told the deck I only had 5 ones she then says, "you going to give me a tip." On a $5 polish change nonetheless. I repeated I only have $5, her response, ok buy $20 gift card and you can pay debit. I chose instead to get $20 out of the ATM which of course did not work. She again offered me the option of purchasing a gift card for $20, I was seriously annoyed and left. Even if I had gotten the money from the machine I wasn't tipping her ass. They will not see my business again, even if my options are limited. read more

YIKES! I cannot believe how awful this place was. I went there for a brazilian wax because I could not get to my usual place. I was directed to a room off the main area. There was a curtain, a gurney, a huge mirror, and a cart with waxing supplies. The girl came in and stood there watching me as I undressed... unusual, but whatever. I don't need to be pampered and with this type of service modesty is not really an option. She got started and didn't say a word... awkward. After a while, I noticed that she was using the same strip over and over, which I do not think is standard practice. I said something to her about it, but she didn't seem to understand me. Then I saw that the sheet I was laying on was covered in other people's hair!!!! GROSS!!! At this point, I was just hoping to get it over with. When she was finished, she gave me a cloth with baby oil on it to clean up and scurried out of the room. That's when I noticed that she hadn't finished the job. Without going into too much detail, she basically gave me a regular bikini wax with a little extra. Who would want that? I put my clothes on and went to the desk to complain, but she had already left! I couldn't believe it. Oh, and I shouldn't be surprised, but I had the worst irritation that I've ever experienced. This was my first time at this salon. Clean, very bright, spacious, with several work stations for nail techs. They perform other services besides nails, including waxing and massage. I got a gel manicure, which turned out nice. They offer a classic selection of polish colors. The tech was neat, efficient, and gentle with my hands and nails. It would be nice to offer sunscreen to clients whose hands are going under the UV for gel manicures. While the overall visit was fine, I rated the salon a 2 because as we were leaving, one tech stopped my friend, telling her she "forgot to leave a tip," when in fact my friend had already given gratuity to each of the technicians who serviced her. Perhaps this is a norm for them as other reviews note the same behavior. Either way, I won't be returning. read more

Fiji gets an A on the nail odor front, and for value. It's not expensive, and if you just need a quick mani-pedi, it's the right price. I am not sure if I would make it my regular place though. Why? First off, I paid the extra $5 for the "spa manicure", because I was assured by my manicurist that it was "worth it", and it included exfoliation and a hand and arm massage. The result was the manicurist putting exfoliant gel on my hands, rubbing it around so it at least touched every part of my hand and then told me to go wash up. That's it. That was my spa experience? Gee, for a second there I thought I was actually IN Fiji, lying on the beach drinking a fruity drink with a little umbrella in it. Things took a turn for the worst when I nicked a small part of my thumb while drying, and simply asked the manicurist who had done my nails, where the polish was that we used, and I would happily fix it myself. To a manicurist, this must be the equivalent of committing homicide, because she treated me like I had just killled her first-born. I totally get that I messed up her handiwork, but that's why I said I would do it myself. She and another girl had a conversation that was obviously about me even though it was in another language, and then the other girl fixed it. I apologized again for the hundreth time, but she just ignored me. I know that I'm not paying $25 to be BFF Forevs with the staff, but I also don't feel like constantly apologizing to people and feeling like I am doing something wrong, and feeling rushed, when I act super polite and respectful to begin with. A business, and that includes its employees, should make you feel that they are grateful for your patronage. It's not the nicest place, but they are quick. I often go first thing on Saturday morning, and have 3 people work on me at once: pedicurist, manicurist and waxer. It's efficient and I'm outta there in 40 mins. The parking isn't great, but I usually don't have trouble getting a spot at that hour. read more

I had high hopes for this nearby salon. No, I didn't like it from the first minute. I wanted shellacs which don't require any high speed instruments bur my technician pulled one out. I had to shake my head no because she barely spoke English. It went downhill from there. Lots if attitude, lots of talking under her breath in a language foreign to me, and lots of abrupt pushing of my hands to get them where she wanted them. I saw no disinfectant anywhere. The nail file was filthy and came out of a dirty container. One of the UV lights was broken. I got no neck massage. The shellac looks ok but kind of thick. Horrible. Got my gel refill and pedicure on Friday, it's only Monday and my polish is chipping. I have never been to a salon that charges $15 for gel polish. I asked how much a gel refill was and the lady doing my nails said $15 but when I went to check out they told me $30. No consistency. I will never return and they're so rude. Very inconsistent. I used to go here for eyebrow waxes, but I stopped because of the rude employees and inconsistency. The pedicures are not very good either. Foot/calf massages are very short and frankly uncomfortable. Overall, the place is very spacious and prices are low, but I'd rather pay a little bit more and get what I want. Good prices on services and an abundance of colors to choose from. Fiji has lots of staff and stations, but there is definitely still a wait on weekends. I feel sorry for the women that work here. I live down the street so I have been to Fiji many times out of convenience but I have to say these girls never seem to have a day off and work super long hours. I also feel that the cleanliness of the salon has drastically gone down, despite getting new pedicure chairs. I've noticed that the technicians reuse the same disposable gloves all day and the nail polish definitely has way too much thinner in it. I get gel polish and within a day or two they start to chip and in less than a week they're all chipped and a mess and I end up just taking it off. I normally am not a person to write a review on a place but this place really irked me. As soon as I walked into the door I felt like I was being rushed. I asked for gel on my nails and regular on my toes. The gel selection was so confusing because they did not provide swabs of what the colors look like. When I went to look for a regular color polish the nail tech became impatient with me so she literally shoved 5 colors into my hands and told me to pick sitting down so they could start. I couldn't sit with my hands full so I handed the colors to the nail tech and when I finally got comfortable she did not let me see them. Instead she tested one on her nail and showed me and pretty much made the decision for me. Since I was getting a mani/ pedi they did both at the same time. Most places do this to be efficient and is totally fine by me but here they only worked on one side of my body so the whole time I had to sit twisted to the left to have both my hands worked on. It was very uncomfortable. Besides having clear polish on my skin, my nails did look alright. I just felt so rushed it was so disappointing, the service was awful! read more

Very inconsistent service and unprofessional staff. The products used are damaging and drying. My skin feels rough and dry after wash service and the polish chips after a few days. If you are seeking multiple services do not expect one technician to handle them. A different tech for each service...mani, pedi, waxing, etc. It may appear to be for efficiency's sake but this will require multiple tips. I ended up paying double for my service as a result. I give Fiji an "A" rating on the cleanliness of the facility, the huge selection of nail polishes and colors, and the large amount of chairs for pedicures and tables for pedicures. I only gave 2 stars for Fiji because of the service. You go to a nail salon for a little rest and relaxation and to perhaps read a magazine while you get pampered for an hour or so - at least this is the reason I go to a nail salon. I felt rushed from the moment I walked in. Additionally, they gave me the manicure and pedicure at the same time, which I cannot stand. I had to reach my right arm across my body and hold it there while they gave me my manicure, which not only is uncomfortable, but also exhausting. The entire manicure pedicure process took less than a half hour, with barely any massage on the legs or arms and the actual polish job was sub par. I had fuzz from the cotton remaining on my nails that the woman doing the manicure failed to remove prior to applying the polish. I was with two friends and we printed the coupon from their website to get the mani/pedi for 25.00, and when we presented the coupons, they all began talking in their own language complaining about the coupon. They then complained about the amount of tip we left them. Overall, just unprofessional and not really the relaxing mani-pedi i had hoped for. There are plenty other options in the area, and I would willingly pay the extra 10 bucks or so for a better spa service experience. read more

I had two manicures here in the past three weeks, what a waste ofmoney. I had a guy do my nails. The shapes were different on each hand. My nails were still rough and not smooth. I would not have gone back after the first time except I had a gift certificate for a mani and pedi. The pedi was awesome! I called to complain and ask for a free mani, no customer sevice. DIRTY, DIRTY, DIRTY. I have been going here for years but in all that time, I am not sure it has ever been cleaned. There is so much dust between the tables, the small plastic containers that hold the (files, Powder, polish, nail clippers) is downright filthy. The nail dryers for gel nails are so dirty i cringe at putting my hands in to dry. Needless to say, I, my family, my friends will NOT be going back. There must be 10 women who sit in the back doing nothing at most times.....They should be cleaning. It's a miracle I have not gotten sick from going here. Moving on !!!! read more
