Pork chop, broccoli, Mac n cheese, jalapeño cornbread

Meat and 3 like you'd find in a small town in the south, but with the bonus of a cute market and wine shop built in. Unique combinations. Porkchops were solid and jalapeño cornbread was great. Pretty flavorful food to be prepared in such large batches. Service to the extent that their is service as a self serve spot was good as well. Only drawbacks are portions were sort of small for the price/market and not a fan of places that are full self service but prompts for 20% iPad tips. Would go back when in town. Taste: 8.5 Service: 8 Vibes: 7 Value: 6.5

Quick and delicious! The fried catfish was good and the broccoli was fresh. Jalapeño cornbread was also quite good. The restaurant also doubles as a liquor store! Great neighborhood spot for lunch.

Stopped by for lunch on the way back to NC. You need to stop here. Cafeteria style plating, everything.is.delicious. Seriously, I wish I could take them home. The service was awesome. Everyone was southern hustle friendly. They were hopping at 11am on a Wednesday. But nothing suffered. Great selection of unique beer and wine too.

Three fried boneless tenders advertised as fried chicken breasts, wild rice, black eyed peas, and cornbread muffin.

Reviews said best fried chicken, we were served a fried boneless chicken tenders, smaller than the cornbread. They were ok. We also got the pulled pork, wild rice, Lima beans, mac n cheese, and sweet tea. That is what earned the 4 stars. Cute store, friendly staff, and the deserts looked great. Would definitely come back, just not for the chicken. The fried pork chop and ribs looked amazing.

To go plate of fried pork chop, sweet potato casserole, newt potatoes, unforgettable broccoli and cheese, cornbread

Picked up several plates Togo for myself and my parents. Everyone ate til we were stuffed. Every meal I have had from Dirk's has been delicious. In general, it's a meat and two plate, but I can't control my hunger and usually order one more side item. Go a little bit early if you want to get a good park!

Well on this visit didn't get to chow, due to covid 19 the restaurant closed serving food at 3:00pm.

Great hole in the wall joint for some local cooking. Highly recommend! Make sure to get the fresh made sandwiches.

The breakfast was delicious--my Mom and I both got breakfast bowls and my Dad got eggs, toast, and hashbrowns. The ambiance was great as well, they even had a small fishtank near where we were seated! As a certified animal lover, I felt this was a very fun touch. We will definitely be returning, perhaps for lunch to try some of their amazing sandwiches!

Because of that history, it is disappointing to say that my most recent experience left me seriously questioning whether I will continue to patronize this establishment. When placing a large catering order and spending a substantial amount of money, I expected to be treated as a valued customer. Instead, the attitude from management made me feel more like a nuisance than someone supporting their business. Customer service should reflect appreciation for patrons, especially those making significant purchases and returning year after year. The food may still be good, but great food alone does not make for a great customer experience. Respect, professionalism, and gratitude toward customers matter just as much. Long-time customers should never leave feeling as though their business is an inconvenience. It is unfortunate because I have many fond memories associated with Chappy's Deli, but experiences like this make it difficult to justify continuing to spend my hard-earned money where it does not seem to be appreciated.

My SO and I went to visit this location after work today (our first time going in several months)…read moreand it was an experience like no other! We had an excellent service! The lady at the counter was so inviting and was amazing at making additional suggestions for us. The food came out timely and was beyond tasty. When paying I asked "who gets the tip?" (I don't ever leave a tip at eateries like this simply for the person taking my order lol) and this is when I learned that she was the manager of the location. I proceeded to with my tip even though she could receive it knowing it would be split amongst her amazing staff. The facility was clean, bathrooms were tidy and the atmosphere was quiet and quaint. I tried the Newk's Q pizza and my SO got my usual for the 1st time the Newk's Q sandwich. They both tasted delicious. Thank you Charlene for your exceptional service, bubbly personality, knowledge of menu items, and for the convo and laughs.

Unfortunately, I've consistently noticed an issue with how pickup orders are handled. The pizza is always placed on an unheated pickup shelf, and by the time I arrive, it's already cold. Today, I ordered both the pizza and a Caesar salad. The salad was sitting on the top shelf, which is not temperature controlled, and it was noticeably warm when I picked it up. The pizza, on the lower shelf, was cold as usual. After experiencing this multiple times, I decided to leave a review. Shortly after posting, I received a text message--presumably from the owner--that came across as dismissive and rude. I want to be clear that I'm not looking for anything free. My concern is simply about food safety and quality. A pickup station without temperature control raises valid concerns, especially when items like salads contain dairy products that shouldn't sit at room temperature. As a regular customer who orders takeout often and dines in about once a month, this experience was disappointing. Rather than addressing the concern, the response I received felt accusatory, as if my review was written with ulterior motives. Because of this, I've decided to take my business elsewhere.
