I ordered this place on Uber eats. I am a seasoned, experienced uber eats customer. The pictures always look so good on Uber eats but most times the food is disappointing. I was hoping they were wet they weren't but that's OK. They weren't skimpy And the wings were flavorful Cheesesteak with fries: OMG I love philly cheesesteaks but I stopped ordering them because I'm always so disappointed. Usually the meat looks, smells or it tastes funny. Or they skimp on the meat the cheese or the other ingredients. Again looking at it I knew I was going to enjoy it. The bun was toasted it had grilled onions and bell peppers. The meat you can tell was freshly cooked and it was grilled. It came with some kind of sauce that wasn't overpowering. It was very subtle. It tasted like mayonnaise mixed with herbs and spices that I can't quite identify. But I give this Philly cheesesteak a 15 out of 10. Fries: the fries came with the cheesesteak but you can also get them as a side order. They're seasoned and lightly battered but not thickly battered like checkers/rallys but the fries were really good too the only negative thing I can say about my entire order is they forgot the ketchup I asked for. Omg the food coming out of this place is so good. I wish I knew about this place the whole year I lived on the east side. I discovered it the week we were moving. I had the Cajun Alfredo with Salmon, Shrimp and Blackened Chicken. Soooooo delicious. The first time the chicken needed more seasoning and the pasta needed more sauce but the second time I requested it and baaaybay it was perfect. At first glance, I was hesitant about walking in, as the front door was shattered, barely holding on. However, I decided to give it a try. The bartender provided first-class customer service. She concocted 3 texas mango margaritas. Delectable, to say the least. I believe her name was Tiana. For food, I ordered the salmon entree with asparagus and sautéed spinach. Amazing! It is important to note, I checked in with yelp and received a complimentary house punch coupon, however, the owner refused to honor it, saying it was 2 years old. Not only that, but the place stays open very late at night and keeps its music going full volume. That might be cool in an area with a lot of bars and a buffer between it and the local residential area. But this was a quiet residential spot. People live just on the other side of the block, and they are inundated night and day with LOUD music. The management and owner have been asked to keep it down, but they refused. They have ignored police visits, local ordinances, and the like. Basically, their answer to the neighborhood has been a giant, loud middle finger. If I could give fewer than 1 star just for the Ponce Sports Lounge's lack of neighborliness and basic concern for the area they are in, I would. I ordered a burger and wings through UberEats one night; not expecting to much...... Hooonnnney!!!!! When I tell you gourmet food! Yes, this food was made with love for sure. The wings were perfectly seasoned and even plated nicely in the to-go container. The burger was hand pattied, seasoned and had home-made pickles on there. The food was so good we went back the next day and was blown away with our bartender, Jessica and Executive Chef Alexandre Jackson. Came here yesterday for drinks after a meeting. It was around 6 pm when we arrived. The bar sits on front street in a plaza with a hookah store and a car repair shop on the other side. Happy hour specials are available but don't expect 5 dollar on top shelf drinks. I ordered a pineapple and Ciroc, 8.00 and my homegirl ordered a margarita which was 5 dollars. She also ordered the salmon patties which were a nice size. The place is small but they have a pool table, a few nice booths and the bathroom was clean. Customer Service was nice, I'm sure this place is a regular spot for the neighborhood. It wasn't busy but there was a few people playing pool and before we left customers were coming in. Parking is slim. The bartender is super nice and suggested a signature drink called Ponce Punch. Ordered Salmon Croquets and Fried Asparagus and it was ammmmmmmmazing. Also ordered dessert, which was amazing... The cheesecake with caramel sauce. The staff Sarah and Messi were so nice and accomodating. They checked on us loke every few minutes! This is a new spot and the service was great. I recommend this place as a nice chill spot. Great for date night or hanging woth some friends. Plus they have a full bar and awesome large screen TVs. This is great. I've now been here twice. My first visit was for breakfast. I had the chicken and waffles, my friend had the French toast. Both were excellent. The chicken is nuggets, but they are very well seasoned and quite moist. The waffles were fluffy with a faint sourdough funk that pairs well with syrup, btw the syrup was good quality. Tonight we're here for an early dinner before a movie. The server was different but just as considerate as last time. I had the smothered pork chop with mashed potatoes and sautéed squash. It was comfort food, presented well but without fuss. My husband had the steak with Mac and cheese and sweet potato fries. All excellent. The sweet potatoes were seasoned with cinnamon sugar- maybe a bit too sweet, but crispy. The mac and cheese came out after the entree, but is worth the wait. Seriously. This is damn fine mac. I'll be honest, there aren't a lot of sit down places in Clarkston, so even if this place were average, I'd be thrilled. Ponce Sports Lounge is not average. It is very good food, served with pride. The cons: Hand made tables are an odd height for dining, maybe meant for drinks. The decor is a glittery hodgepodge that doesn't tie in with the menu or the "Sports Lounge" name. There is a faint odor, which my husband called "dirty mop bucket", but I recognized from my college and early back of house days as a plumbing/grease trap issue, clearly not the fault of the building's occupants. Absolute best kept secret in Decatur. Not your average sport bar food. Upon entering you gave a great open space and beautiful bar. Well lit. Happy hour special looked inviting though my first visit was lunch but returned another time during the late hours. Both times customer service was phenomenal. Hookahs are not served until 9:00 pm at the lounge however you can go right next door to the intimate hookah lounge and be served a hookah all day and all night long. Themed days are great and the music and live DJ's are always great. Whatever you do, don't think you will ever come to Ponce and not have a great experience. Great food, drinks, hookah, sport and more importantly great people all in one place. Great place for small lunch meeting or large birthday parties.
