This is a really long story but to make it short as I can,, appointed had been scheuled a week in advance, Got there and was told they couldn;t do the creamation due to maintenace, ,, All four of us drove in two cars, 3 people lost time at work to grieve with me and got no call to say that it was cancelled whether it was scheduled or unscheduled maintenance they should have called, this is unacceptable ,,,all it would have taken was a phone call that morning since they new and we could have changed the date ,, no they wasted our time,, bad business , and we now know this has happend quite a few times and some people didnt write a review...they have always been the place to go now they have bought out Angel view and opened another one in Conn,,, all their fancy showroom stuff nothing but show .. there's so much more, but I'm done with final gift after being a loyal customer for over 12 years , now that they are growing out of control they don't care, and prices are out of hand now too,,,,, ,,,,,,,,Good things worked out,, what was going to cost me over $500 ,, I went with a small business that cares like Final Gift USE TO and got an all inclusive package for $180,, creamation witnessed, one on one,, urn, ashes, clay paw imprint , ink paw prints, locks of hair sympathy card, picture in an obituary,, and key chain holder for ashes,, ,, more to say but I am DONE with Final Gift,, ON TO FAITHFUL FRIENDS, in Warren RI,, read more

Its been over a year since I used these folks. I met someone who needed their services and looked them up for the phone number so I could send out a recommendation. This was the first time I used a cremation service and Final Gift got high praise from my Vet. Please if you need this done and love your animals like I do call these folks. I was unable to bring my angel cocker spaniel to the vets to be 'put to sleep' I just could not do it. coby was 12 years old with severe diabetes..many added complications. a friend stayed with coby to the end..several days later I received a small gift bag with the infamous cardboard box..later in the day I opened the box to find cobys ashes in a beautiful urn..charcoal stone with paw prints around it. there was a sympathy card..a pamphlet on grieving and a packet of wild flower seeds..there was much thought into this..they had a certificate with cobys name..as well as my surname..i was expecting a box of ashes..thank the lord for final gift creamation..I am at peace and coby is at my side..thank you so very much! read more

Today I opened the "gift" bag with the remains of my beloved pet. What a disappointment. The Urn was cheap looking - not at all as pictured in the choices passed along to me - paperwork which came from Final Gift. The Urn was wrapped in a ripped plastic bag. I was told the remains would be enclosed in a pouch; the pouch was another plastic bag, which I had to tug on to remove from the cheap looking Urn. The remains are not ashes; they are small chunky pieces - like toenail clippings. The full name of my beloved pet was not even written on the "Certificate" of Cremation. How disrespectful this company was to a beautiful and giving creature of our Universe. My biggest regret is not having checked out this company before giving permission to my Veterinary Hospital to follow through with cremation by Final Gift. My dog was diagnosed with lymphoma in October, and I lost him in November. I have been unable to write this review until now. I am a planner so I knew that at some point I would need these services unfortunately. I called and asked for prices for cremation and the woman on the phone was not very kind. She said that there were different prices for different times of the day. I proceeded to ask her what time is day and what time is night. A Reasonable question I thought. She proceeded to say " we are not here sitting at our desks 24/7 waiting for your call". I was appalled. I was so sad and so upset and then she spoke like that! I asked her name and she said Jan I think. I then told her that in no way was I thinking that she was at her desk waiting for my call. I just wanted to have the cash ready on that day so that I wouldn't have to try to write checks with my grief. I decided not to use them and used Forget Me Not in Massachusetts, and am so happy that I did. My baby was cremated an hour after his death and I had his ashes at 11 am the next day. I am sorry to even have to write this review, yet I am sorry that she spoke to me like that. I would never use this place due to the way I was spoken to. read more

Unfortunately, my beloved 7-year-old cat passed away unexpectedly yesterday morning. My father called The Final Gift right away and they showed up within the hour and immediately expressed their condolences and removed my cat from the house with care. It was a heartbreaking experience but they provided my cat and my family with the utmost care. I was able to pick out a special urn for his ashes, including a picture frame, which is a very special touch. His ashes were already returned to my home, and I'm so grateful for the speediness of their services. With his urn, they provided a package containing flower seeds, a sympathy card, a pamphlet on how to deal with the loss, and a Rainbow Bridge coin stating that a donation was made to a charity benefiting low-income pet owners made in Crash's name. Although there is a long grieving process ahead, I couldn't have begun to get through it without The Final Gift. I would recommend them to anyone! read more

I had to put my toy poodle, Bandit, to sleep on September 13, 2013. It was one month before his 16th birthday. I chose to do the private cremation and used Final Gift of RI. The service was excellent. I received Bandit's ashes back in a beautiful wooden urn, with a very nice certificate and pamphlet on coping with the loss of a beloved pet. I hope I have several more years before I need their services again but I would definitely use them again. read more

I was a little disappointed in the final gift process. It is like a kit that they give you, along with your pets remains, to put together yourself. I ordered her photo and a plaque to be attached, and paid for the extras. When we went to pick up the remains, they gave us the empty holder for the photo and the plaque in a baggie. We were not told this in advance. The service is not cheap, by any means. I expected to pick up a complete package. Also, I had made my arrangements in advance, but a family had just brought their pet in without an appointment and we had to wait at least a half hour for that family to make their choices. I should have been waited on first. Fortunately for them, they are the only game in town. read more

I agree with the positive reviews of this service. Something else that I did that was extremely meaningful to me was buying a real gold urn necklace that I wear around my neck to keep my beloved Lab close to my heart. I found a place online (memorialurnjewelry.com) that sold really nice necklaces - I chose a circle shape with a paw print and had my pet's name engraved. It wasn't cheap, but the guy I dealt with was super helpful and it really helps me get through the day, especially in the beginning. read more

We made the difficult decision to put our 16 year old beagle "Bernie " to sleep last week. The vet recommended "Final Gift" . So we left our beloved pet in their care. All arrangements were done by the vet. Our dog's ashes were returned to us today . We were so touched by the thoughtful care given to our pet. From the certificate of private cremation, to the beautiful sealed cherry box his ashes are in, to the packet of flower seeds to plant in the spring. We have had two senior cats cremated, one arrived in a plastic bag and the other in a small wooden chest type box.By far this was the most professional and thoughtful cremation service for pets that I have seen. Though price does not matter when you want the best for your pet to memorialize him, but the cost was less then when we had our cats cremated. I hope this helps others at a difficult time. read more

First impression of this business was good. I was left alone with my husband in a quiet room to grief the loss of our dog of 16 years. However, the next day with a broken heart I went back to bring him home only to encounter a woman who was less than professional. I gave her my picture of my dog to put in his box so I would not have to see his ashes. She would later come back out to me with the picture in one hand which was bent at the top and his empty box in the other telling me she was having trouble putting the picture in and that she didn't want to cut out the decorative blanket in the picture because it was the "best part of the picture." She also said don't worry..."the bag is in the back." After watching her try to fit the picture in, I grabbed the picture which I could barely see through the tears and did it myself. I also asked what time he was cremated because I wanted to know and I was told they don't keep track of that because so many are and it's done one right after the next. I than got home to realize the wrong last name was on his certificate after telling her the right name at the place. This was truly an unbearable time for me made even more so by the thoughtless actions and words of the staff at a final gift. Now I believe my dog's ashes may not have been put in the bag correctly because I am seeing what appears to be his remains on the side of the box. NO words to describe my pain as I will now have to open the box to contain it. I refuse to carry him back there...and hope I will never have to experiene this again. read more
