My beloved lovebird passed away when I got home around 7. I know it was after hours but I sent them an email to contact me. They called me back within 10 minutes. The person I spoke to was very sympathetic since I was a hot boogery mess. I made an appointment for the next morning to drop off my bird. The day of appointment, Alicia was waiting for me and opened the door to greet me. We went over pricing and she helped me pick out a nice urn. I was also able to have it engraved. I sadly handed her my baby and cried all the way home. On Monday morning, I was notified my baby was ready to be picked up. I was pleased with my experience. On April 12, 2025, I paid $198.12 for a $90 urn and what I believed to be for cremation services. On April 15, they called me to say I needed to pay another $295 for private cremation because it was not included in the first payment. They should have asked for the total payment the first time instead of leading me to believe that the $198.12 covered the private cremation. About a month later, the manager called me to inform me that they sent me an empty urn without my dog's ashes. This is a big mistake. It was right before Christmas that we had to put our poor little Bella down, and we asked since were quoted the wrong price at Tufts, if they could hold off until the next day so we could pay for her paw print. I requested them to pick up my beloved, as I could not bare to see him that way. I spoke to a woman last Tuesday who told me she'd give me a call back that day and let me know if it was doable. I never got. a call back. Last Friday I left a voicemail, hoping to hear from someone. It's now Monday, six days later and I haven't heard anything from ANYONE. She yes he weighs 32lbs but because I told them 5lbs, which I didn't, they couldn't proceed. I asked to talk to a manager, she said no, "I will talk to management for you" So, apparently there is no recourse if things go wrong in Cranston, RI Final Gift as you cannot talk to anyone other than Alicia. We didn't deal directly through Final Gift but rather provided their services through our vet, North Paws. We were offered options for cremation of our pet as well as a memorial urn for the ashes. We had put our pet down on Saturday and received our pets ashes (we chose to receive his alone) on Thursday. The vet provided a bag that obtained the urn which is beautiful mahogany with a spot for a photo, a card with a poem as well as some literature around grief. We also had our pets paw prints in the bag but not sure if that was from the vet or Final Gift. We were pleased with the beautiful urn and it sits in our mantle over our fireplace with our pets collar and paw print. Not even any fur, let alone what I asked, which was brown white and black from her tail. This is something you should triple check before putting her in the oven! Let alone, I had to call to ask where she was today after almost 2 weeks, and you didn't put the stand in for her urn either that we paid for. The paw mold wasn't hardened yet and the ink print was very messy so it's like you rushed to get it done today after calling you out. She wasn't just my dog, she was my wife's baby and her service dog! We called back to ask where they were(stand and locks fo fur) and was told , "oh it's in the notes as human error, no one called you guys?" No, no one called us about the "error" or that she was done and ready for pick up. I wish I could go back and choose another company that would've fulfilled the order correctly. You can save some money if you plan ahead. $23 for a small amount of hair--you could do that yourself. $30 for shipping--for a 3 lb box, through UPS, shipping normally costs about half that amount. Today (7/28/2021) I received a notification NOT from Final Gift but from UPS to state the Mollie's remains were being prepared/readied for shipment. On Saturday, November 19, 2022, my husband and I helped Miss Lily Mack, our English bulldog of 14.7 year, cross the Rainbow Bridge. Prior to doing so, my husband called Final Gift Crematorium - who we have used to cremate 13 of our dogs, since 2008 - the moment they opened to see if we could have her cremated that day. He told them we want Lily to be the only dog in the oven. We need to see our dog go in and out and wait for her ashes so she may return home with us that day. We were told to come in at 1 p.m. We arrive only to be told they had us scheduled for a "drop off". First of all, I am NOT dropping my dog off anywhere. Obviously, it is crucial I be there to witness. The receptionist and the supervisor said, "no we close at 2 p.m." My husband told them to call the manager. The manager says, " tell them we close at 2 p.m." I begged them to stay open longer. They continued to repeat their canned answer over and over again. They made no effort to accommodate us whatsoever. They offered to keep her in storage and they would do the cremation liked we asked on Monday. I am not letting anyone wrap my dog in a bag, throw her in the freezer for two days. They botched the appointment, next, would they mistakenly bring me the ashes of the wrong dog? Final Gift's mission statement is 'giving families the best in pet aftercare'. This would have never happened under the direction of the former owner. Unfortunately, he sold it and now a heartless corporation runs it. Does this sound like they fulfilled their mission statement? Does this sound like a positive experience in a time of despair? My handsome Golden Ret. named Rex passed away 7.10.2023. My Vet was bringing him to Final Gift in Cranston and I told him I didn't like them. They always put my Goldens in a box too small, perfect for a cat. This time my Vet made sure it was a bigger box, very nice with my boy's name on it. BUT, one thing people want with a private cremation is a paw print of their beloved animal. I didn't get the paw print and not even the medallian that usually comes with the cremains, or even a sympathy card. It's just all money for them and not the serious heart breaking moment owners suffer. So no paw print for my handsome Rex, no medallian, and I have had several dogs come to Final Gift. The Final Gift they are giving stinks and my dogs will never go there again. I have more dogs and I want them treated with care and respect, and I want to be treated with care and respect. I would give it no stars if I could. My beloved cat Earl Grey passed away on June 21, 2019. I asked for a paw imprint and clearly wrote his name. A week later when I got his ashes back, there was no paw imprint even though they had charged me. His name was also incomplete. My vet called them to let them know the paw imprint was not included, they refunded my money but told me they wouldn't send another certificate with the correct name. I called and emailed to no avail. To this day they haven't responded. I knew my beloved kitty was dying so I planned ahead, decided what I wanted to do with her remains, and picked out where I wanted to take her for cremation. I picked Final Gift based on location and reviews. They were absolutely wonderful. My kitty passed just before midnight, and I called Final Gift at 8:45 the following morning. They had me in by 9:30 to drop her off, and the ashes were ready by 3 pm. They came with a wonderful card with the story of the rainbow bridge and a packet of seeds to plant in my girl's memory. Even with the COVID-19 crisis limiting their services, they handled my cat with the utmost care. As I'd mentioned, my kitty passed at home and therefore I handled her remains and arrangements, which was much harder than I thought it would be. Final Gift made it simple. It still bothers me to this day that I paid for a private cremation and drove two hours to this office since the other in Cranston ct was under constitution. First I was arriving 10 min late because I got caught up and I called asking if that was going to be okay so that I wouldn't arrive there and be told to reschedule. When I arrived the location was empty and i had told the receptionist that I had called a few times and left a message and all she had to say was yes I got your message...meaning she heard each message I left and didn't feel the need to give me a call back. Second of all just as I was going to go in for my baby she paused me and asked if I wanted to pay now or later. I answered now because in my head I thought I'd get to get it out of the way and spend more time with my baby and that I wouldn't have the straight mind to do afterwards. I went to pay and it turned out that the urn that I had ordered they didn't have so I decided to just order another. There were some complications with that So 15 min go by and we decide to take care of it after. I'm finally with my Kiki , praying and taking in the moment. It was such a beautiful set up they had. But next thing I know I'm being interrupted over the urn and the price , completely unannounced , just walked right in. I shake it off. I'm praying now and now a few minutes later once again the receptionist comes in to me to inform me of the same situation AGAIN without knocking AGAIN. A few minutes go by and now one of the women is hovering over me telling me that there's another client coming and they don't want to rush the process with my Kiki. It was completely completely insensitive in a situation like that that I will never get to have again. I understand that I was a few minutes late and that could have given me more time but coming in completely unannounced, interrupting asking about money is so unprofessional and insensitive. There's a time for everything. Do better. Also just wanted to add that the only reason I was able to get a paw ink print is because I asked , they also don't include fur clippings. I personally feel like this isn't something I should have to ask for , they are called final gift. It's something that they should know anyone would want to hold close to their heart. My beloved cat Tilly passed (at home) on June 15. I later took her that day to Final Gift at Pine Rest in Buffalo, N.Y. I was told by Kevin, that she would be ready by the 16th or 17th, and that they would call me. I called on Saturday the 18th at 11;30 am (they were to be open till 1 pm), but nobody answered the phone, so I left a message to call me - again - nobody did, so I called Monday at 12:45 pm and spoke to Kevin. He said she was ready, and that he was going to make phone calls later that afternoon - how much later was that going to be? He couldn't tell me why no one answered on Saturday either! Anyway, when I got there about 1:30 pm on Monday, I rang the doorbell a few times (spacing each one a minute or two apart) because the door was locked - then I had to finally knock on the door. When he opened the door, all he said (curtly), was "we're short handed". He handed me the bag and I left. When I got home I saw on the certificate that my Tilly indeed was cremated on the 16th - why did I have to wait so long? I in the past have brought other pets there for cremation, and have never been treated like that - I am still so bitter that Kevin was so indifferent- especially since he is dealing with sensitive emotions. P.S. - by the way, he has his Realty Home Buying cards on the front table for people to see! My beloved Siamese cat Pearl passed away unexpectedly from a terrible accident at home while I was away. First thing Monday morning I called final gift and left a message needing to make arrangements. I was contacted back very quickly and was able to bring Pearl into their care just an hour later. Upon arriving I was greeted and placed Pearl down. The girl at the front desk set up the viewing room with Pearl in it so I could see her one last time before the cremation, while I chose an urn. I was in brought to the viewing room so I could see my beloved Pearl one last time. The set up was beautiful and very dignified. Pearl received a private cremation in which no other pets were in the retort with her. Early the next day I received a phone call that Pearl was ready to come home. So I went down and picked her up and brought her home for the final time. A lot of care was placed the urn itself was in a velvet bag which also came with a care package. They are in itself was a beautiful blue Urn just something basic. I highly recommend final gift the staff is very caring professional and compassionate. I used their services to have my cat cremated a couple of weeks ago, I also wanted them to do the paw print for me she had the cutest tiniest little paws and if that was the last thing that I could've had of her then so be it, so I chose to go this route when I got the paw print back it looks like a raccoon paw!!! nothing like a cat, it was so messed up! A couple of years ago, I saw a pamphlet at Swansea Veterinary Services for pet cremation, so I kept that information filed in my memory for the inevitable and sad future use. When my beloved cat died recently and most unexpectedly, I called SVS and they provided the number to contact Final Gift. I honestly don't remember with whom I spoke (I was distraught), but he was very nice and professional and gave his condolences. He didn't try to sell me anything, just took my information and explained that the individual cremation came with a cherry wood box and I could pay a little more for one with a picture frame. That was the one for me. I gave him my card information (payment had to be made in full) and he told me I could take my pet to SVS the next day for pick up (I live a bit far from Cranston, so Swansea was much more convenient). Again, he gave his sympathy. The staff at SVS was very kind and took the box with my cat very carefully. They also gave their condolences. Three days later (which included both a holiday and a snow storm), I got a call from SVS that my cat's ashes were ready to be picked up. They apologized for the delay and I assured them that, considering the weather and the holiday, the turnaround time was quite satisfactory. The cherry wood box is lovely and simple and holds a 4x6 frame. The bag they provided also held a sympathy card with the Rainbow Bridge story, a certificate stating that my cat had been cremated individually, a "how to deal with the loss of your pet" pamphlet, and a packet of flower seeds to plant in memory of the deceased. What a thoughtful package! There was also a coin and a card explaining that a donation had been made in my pet's name to RIVMA Companion Animal Foundation (www.companionanimalfoundation.org) which was incredibly nice. This is my first time dealing with the passing of a pet, so I didn't know what to expect. I thought I was just going to get a box of ashes, when in reality, I feel like the thought and care provided by Final Gift and SVS really gave my pet and my grief the dignity they deserve. read more

I had to put my 13 year old German Shepherd down on 1/1/13. It was the hardest decision I ever had to make and the hardest thing I had to witness watching my baby drift off peacefully. The vet said I could either opt for a communal cremation, private cremation or take her home with me. I had initially opted for communal cremation but the next day I had called back and said I would want her ashes back and I would like a private cremation. They said if I wanted private I would need to make the arrangements myself. They said they use Final Gift for the communal cremations and that they do private ones as well. Having never done this before, I gave them a call and got a price that I thought was extremely reasonable and that included picking up the dog (in NH), cremation, the urn, and bringing her back to the vet's office. They made this very difficult process easy and were very professional and courteous. I just picked up the urn today and was very pleased with the quality of the urn. They also give you a personalized certificate of cremation, a nice card, a rainbow bridge token and a packet of flower seeds you can plant in your pets memory. I wasn't aware of all this but these special touches meant a lot to me. This isn't something I would ever want to go through again, but if/when I do, I will definitely be using Final Gift and I highly recommend them. read more

UPDATE to review... Matt from Final Gift followed up with me and we discussed my concerns and what went wrong at length many of which he was sending to management. But all of them were addressed ASAP he was able to find the actually discontinued Urn for me and had it delivered the very next day. Even though there were mistakes their amazing customer service to fix everything made an impression on my healing heart. I lost my fur baby right before Christmas after 15 years and this was the company my Vet used. While making arrangements I was so disturbing told that my poor Dice would be left at the Vet for the next 5-7 before being "picked up" additionally I was told his weight neither was asked for!! Today I picked up his ashes and not in a sealed envelope I found out he was cremated on Christmas Eve!! His Urn is wrong even though I told them Exactly what I wanted his brass name plate wasn't on it either I HAVE TO ATTACH IT (some assembly required). We lost our 15 year old cat and our veterinarian used Final Gift for his cremation. We opted to have a private cremation with his ashes returned in an urn. While we did not deal with the company directly, I could tell he was well taken care of. He is in a beautiful red urn that has a picture frame built in. Final Gift also sent along a card and some seeds to plant. I did have to email Final Gift with a question after he came home and they were quick to respond and offered their condolences. After being with us for 18 years, we lost our beloved dog on Sunday. Very caring people, the first gentleman I spoke with was very kind and helpful and assured me that Jenna would get back to me as soon as she came in because it was the wee hours of the morning. I can not express how grateful I am that I chose Final Gift for the cremation of my beloved pet mouse. I felt a little self-conscious bringing a mouse to be cremated, and also at how physically upset I was about losing him, but the woman who greeted me at the door when I arrived (I believe her name is Kristen) had kindness and sympathy in her eyes, and truly made me feel like Gonzo's passing and my reaction was just as valid as anyone else who has lost a pet. She answered all of my questions with no judgement, and when I mentioned I wanted to get my own urn for him, she said I could come back with it whenever I found it, and they would but his ashes into it so I wouldn't have to. We picked up his ashes today, and I so appreciated all the special touches of the card and pamphlets. Although it is something so awful and hard to have to go through, they made it slightly easier by recognizing how hard it is, which again, helped validate my feelings. Recently, I experienced the loss of a pet who was part of the family for nearly 18 years. Obviously, it was a devastating experience to lose her. The last thing anyone wanted to think about were logistics: what do we do? Where do we bring her? How do we get her there? Is cremation or burial the better option? Our heads were foggy at the thought of all of these decisions. Final Gift made the process so easy. First off, I want to point out (especially to those of you in and around Boston) that I do not live near Cranston RI at all - I live near Boston - but that doesn't matter, as the company services various parts of New England. When I called (which by the way was on New Year's Eve, I wasn't expecting an immediate response), a rep took my information immediately and was very sympathetic. He informed me that my options were flexible; they could send a driver to pick up my pet, or if I chose, my pet could be picked up from my vet's office. He even told me that if I wasn't ready yet to make decisions beyond getting her picked up, I could simply start there and then collect my thoughts and speak to him tomorrow about the rest of the process. Final Gift picked up my pet the same day that I called (a Friday and day before a holiday), despite the fact I am about 45 miles from Cranston. They were very kind and thoughtful, and although I realize that it's the nature of their work, it felt very genuine and heartfelt. I did not feel like we were getting the "fake" sad face. When I decided to go with cremation, the rep advised me of my options and also directed me to their website in case I wanted to go over the options with my family. He promised that my pet's remains would be prepared by Tuesday, but in fact they were ready a day early and delivered to my home personally. They even included a donation in my pet's name to a local animal charity. For those considering burying their pet (we thought about it), Final Wish does have burial services an arrangement with an animal memorial cemetery. Losing a pet is not easy, but I have to say that Final Wish made the logistics and our final goodbye as easy and painless as it could possibly be. I'm really grateful to them and would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone in the New England area. read more

Of course, losing a pet is not a positive experience. On November 12th, one of my family's cats died unexpectedly. Another cat of ours had died two years earlier, but in that instance we took him to the vet, knocking on death's door, and he was put to sleep. We had the vet handle the first loss, where he was sent to Final Gift. Then, after this loss, we trusted Final Gift to take care of our deceased buddy. First off, it really helps that they are open 24 hours. We had called around midnight to say that we needed their services, but did not think the office was open. Immediately we received a call back from someone! It was great. Skip the depressing ride to there.....we were greeted at the door after ringing the buzzer. At first, we spoke with Chris who was very nice, understanding, and sympathetic. The inside was impressive! Looked extremely nice and resembled a funeral home. Chris asked "Do you want to see him for the last time?" My Mom didn't think she could handle it, but I said yes - since my cats are like my children :( Chris had him prepared on a small bed with a blanket over our buddy. You can take as much time as you want in here, too. No rush! Also, payment is due on that day - it came to around $375, which included the urn, rainbow bridge token, and it cost a little extra for "sunday service". You can choose from many urns but they also have other things to remember your pet by. You can have their paw print preserved on a brass "plate", a rainbow bridge bracelet, or you can buy a small urn so you can keep your buddy with you all the time. The ashes are usually ready to be picked up within 2-3 days. So come Wednesday, we went back. Again, greeted warmly at the door but by a woman...whose name escapes me. She thought we were her "2:00 for cremation witness". My mother was fascinated how anyone could stand watching that, but to each their own - everyone grieves in their own way. We received my cat's ashes, which brought tears in my eyes; not as depressing as the first day, but still heavy on my heart. I miss my little buddies, but I won't go anywhere but Final Gift! They're professional, trustworthy, and understand what you're going through! While I couldn't sit there watching families grieve and be expected to keep my composure, I always know that the staff at Final Gift will make this process in healing much easier! read more
