Although a little hot for me ( not the restaurants fault of course lol) this was a beautiful restaurant. Service was fantastic and the food was amazing. Had the best pork I've ever had. Churros were delightful. Order a glass of Chenin it was delicious and refreshing.

Finca Altozano sits along a stretch of road dotted with wineries, and the whole place opens up into this big, breezy patio overlooking the valley. We booked a 6pm reservation and rolled in after the sun was already gone, which was a bit of a miss. This is definitely a place where you want that golden-hour moment on the patio. Mental note for next time. What immediately won me over were the restaurant dogs. Not "stray dogs," but actual chill, friendly, professional table-side charmers. They wander around like they're on their evening rounds, checking in on guests. They're incredibly well-behaved, very polite, and absolutely down for head scratches. Cutting up pieces of our beef tenderloin for them was honestly the highlight: 4 dogs camped out by our table like a tiny canine fan club. Made the whole night. Food-wise, we ordered a little spread: chocolata clam, Reina clam, shrimp zarandeado, beef tenderloin, Brussels sprouts, half dozen gigas oysters, and a salad (can't remember name). Wrapped it all up with tres leches and a couple cocktails and glasses of wine. The only real letdown was the beef tenderloin. Overcooked, and the jus didn't help matters. I felt the food was ok. The clams were my favorite, and it was nice being able to order them one by one. Tried to get the wood-fired mushrooms, but they were out. Overall, the vibe is the star here. Great atmosphere, great animals, pretty scenery, just try to get there before sunset to actually see it. The food sits around a 7.5/10 for me, mostly dragged down by that tenderloin situation. Maybe more of a good spot to get drinks, tres leches cake & an appetizer while enjoying a nice sunset.

Really cool spot with nice decor on a beautiful property. Service was great and the food... was hit or miss. The quail, fried lobster, and lengua were all really good. The mushroom risotto and octopus were meh. Overall I would say it's definitely worth a try if you are in the area

What a lovely place to visit and experience! We had a reservation for a lunch for 18 people so had a set menu. This place was so spacious and full of patrons and staff. Also, I must point out the cleanliness of the entire property from the floor to the decor, it was all really nice! All the staff were so friendly, smiling and welcoming as I walked around each station to peek in on their craft. They had separate areas from the main food prep to dessert station as well as their delicious breads and fresh made tortilla area. Our bustling staff kept our table full with each course. Did not look to be an easy feat with 18 people eating, drinking and chatting at different paces...but rocked it. Wasting no time we were served a glass of wine and a tasty salad of salada panzanela. The delicious food just kept coming so next was an appetizer of elote stuffed zucchini followed by baked quail then braised lamb with fresh baked bread and fresh hand made corn tortillas. Definitely a culinary experience not to be missed!

Raul recommended the Aguachile Campecho, Shrimp Sopes with Bone Marrow, and Grilled Octopus from the pacific. They served tostadas and sourdough bread to accompany the appetizers. WOW! Great flavors all around!! I LOVED the Aguachile... not spicy, but full of flavor. The Grilled octopus with Ponzu sauce was a big hit at the table! We also got the Mushroom Risotto and it too was full of flavor! We were full before the risotto arrived... but we powered through. The services was great and the view of el Valle was peaceful! A great place to eat a meal with friends and family!

Wonderful service and wonderful food! It was well worth the visit. I've wanted to eat here for years and was able to finally dine here for a late lunch. We came here with our awesome tour company, Baja Wine & Dine, so the dishes were all selected in advance. Every dish was delicious. So many good vegetarian options too but my favorite was the moist tender chicken with roasted potatoes and the crispy skin sticking pig. I've read a few reviewers complain about the dogs roaming around. The dogs do not bother or beg from the diners. They walked around the tables and never went under them. There were about 4-5 when we were there and they were all respectfully friendly. I was surprised at first to see dogs there but soon got used to them. The diners are discouraged to feed them.

Brought the family to this staple if a restaurant in El Valle! There's many eateries to select from but the quality, wood fire cooking keeps us coming for more. As soon as we sat down, my kids loved the smell of whatever was cooking. The fire roasted chicken was juicy, served a charcoal grill to keep warm with potatoes and green onions. We ordered two of the pulpo plates just to make sure we all enjoyed the lemony, peanut sauce. This is our go-to dish! Servers are constantly checking in on us, feeling well attended. We will continue to make this a regular stop!

Must stop for food. Beautiful winery/restaurant. The food is excellent as was the service. The food is shareable and full of flavor. Please note there are wondering dogs that are allowed in the restaurant. They lay on the ground but do go to your table if you feed them. If you bring your own dog, please take note.

Down a dusty, washed out, dirt road you will find this great establishment. The adorable dogs are the best hosts, sleeping on the floor throughout the restaurant. We had the octopus for an appetizer: AMAZING. Our entrees were great too. And the tres leche was a wonderful finish.

We stop in here for dinner every time we're in Valle de Guadalupe ("VdG"). We've always loved the food, but lately it's just not the same experience. PROS: - The food is amazing...5 stars! Flavorful, decent portions, and reasonably priced. We never leave hungry. - Menus available in Spanish and English. - Cocktails are well made, and they have a good wine list from the local wineries. - Atmosphere is rustic, covered patio dining (al fresco) - Views of the vineyards and valley are beautiful, especially at sunset. CONS: - Unfortunately, I think that the service is starting to get complacent. It's okay, but not like before. - Animal atmosphere: I love dogs and the ones that live onsite are well behaved. It's everyone else's pets that don't know how to act around other pets/people. Leave them at home for a couple hours, it won't kill them. Made for a very loud and annoying evening. - The dirt road to get there can be brutal to your car, especially if you're coming across from the north side of the valley (Calle Emiliano Zapata). I suggest driving around to the south side and enter via Route 3. Overall, I don't think our latest experience will deter us from visiting again, and we definitely recommend Finca Altozano to all of our friends visiting VdG. Just wish they would do something about the pet distractions.

This was one of the best places we went to in Valle de Guadalupe. They have many options on the menu including grilled meats and salads which you might not find elsewhere. We went with the grilled shrimp plate, kale salad, and birria beef tacos. The kale salad had a delicious creamy garlicky dressing and plenty of avocado on it. The grilled shrimp were large and juicy and came with some delicious rice and grilled corn and zucchini. We wanted to try the lamb birria tacos but they were out so we had the beef birria. The meat came in a hot skillet and it was served with freshly made corn tortillas from the tortillariea, onions and cilantro. The ambiance is so pretty and the property itself has lots of space to walk around before or after you eat. Would recommend visiting if you are in Valle.

Still one of my favorite casual places to go! It's huge, so can accommodate many people. Better to make reservations, but if not, it was only a 10 minute wait time around 6pm on a Saturday. We get our usual. Their roasted chicken! So good. And the birria and beef cheeks to share and make tacos. This time we tried their aguachile. It was delicious! Not a traditional aguachile, it has all the seafood items. More like aguachile cocktail. The scallops in there were bomb! Cocktails are amazing as usual. Their whiskey sour, the best! Love this place for casual dining in VDG.

We went there as a group for a tour at El Valle de Guadalupe, our last stop reserve was here, our tables were ready, very nice warm welcoming. Waiters and staff were very polite, attentive and friendly. The food was very exquisite, they have variety of dishes and flavors. The location, the view, the surroundings even the atmosphere was amazing. Definitely what brought us more the attention besides everything was the Furry Canines (dogs) well trained, very well cared for, with their necklaces, they all have names, by the way I love Bourbon, very adorable. It was a great experience, definitely returning back. Thank you all. Ps. Desserts are so yummy. (Churros one my favorite)

Luckily, we were able to secure a table at Quercus. The waiter was prompt and gave us excellent recommendations for dinner. The chef was also quick to come and ensure that any questions we had about the menu were answered. The bread was served fresh with salsa - a combination I have not had before. Both the green and red salsa were not too spicy and to my surprise, went well with the toasted bread. For our main courses: 1. Grilled Octopus - 5 star presentation! Well seasoned and not chewy - which is something many other restaurants get wrong. The octopus still had a bite, but was still tender enough. It went well with the pickled onions and the guacamole that was served with the dish. 2. Ribeye - Again, excellent presentation befitting of fine dining. This was a huge portion, but well seasoned and not dry. We opted for the 500g (larger) size upon recommendation of our waiter, but probably could have gone for the smaller size. We could not finish it; perhaps if we had 3 people dining. Our meal was paired with an excellent white wine blend from one of the local wineries upon recommendation of our waiter. Highly recommended if you are in the area looking for a restaurant to have dinner at. If I were to describe this place: mediterranean food with a Mexican flare.

I have attached photos of most of the deliciousness! The cheese plate, the tomato soup, and the pork shank were my favorites. I did personally order the grilled octopus, it wasn't cleaned super properly and a lot of bits of it were over the top chewy but did have potential to be great! Also, with being sick I had ordered some hot tea and all I received was hot water with a sprig of mint lol. But all in all this place was amazing!

For groups larger than 7, they require a prix fixe menu (5 or 7 courses) with the option to add a wine pairing. We went with the 5 course + wine pairing, which included a welcome drink (gin + cucumber based and very refreshing). The pairing was supposed to include four wines, but we only ended up getting one red and one white with refills which was a bit of a bummer. That said, the red ended up being one of my favorites from the entire trip, so partial win there. Food: absolutely delicious. Everything came out family style, beautifully plated, and perfect for sharing with a big group. No complaints on flavor or execution! 4 stars (and not 5): a few frustrating misses for a high end spot. First... they were out of tequila. In Valle. At this restaurant. What? Lol. Second, we were required to select our main entree in advance (choices were rock fish or suckling pig), only to get a call about an hour before our reservation saying neither would be available. The replacements were a fish (I think salmon?) and pork belly. Don't get me wrong both were good but last min menu changes like that shouldn't really happen at this level. All that said, still a great experience overall. I would come back with a smaller group so I can actually order my own meal and avoid the prix fixe surprises.

We were the only people in there and it took forever for the food and even the drinks to arrive. I ordered a mojito that was so syrupy sweet as to be undrinkable. The bartender fixed it with more lime juice and rum and was able to drink after it had been watered down with ice. My friend's Margarita while decent, came without salt, so that too had to be sent back. The pizzas come in two sizes, individual and family. I assumed I was getting an individual as two people were having dinner and ordered different entrees. But no, I am presented with a huge family size pizza. Waiter said, sorry that's my fault, guess I should have asked. Nonetheless, I ate 2 pieces and we were billed for a family size pizza. (Note to restaurants, if you are going to play "fleece the gringo" make sure the gringos are tourists and not residents or you cheat yourself out of future business.). I had been here one time previously, for a cappuccino to go. It had virtually no flavor of coffee and was undrinkable. I gave them another chance after that as I have heard great things and thought maybe I was there at an off time or something. But they blew it again. Right now the jury is out. This place has been renamed as the Serengeti…read more It needs to be updated on Yelp. It has been remodeled and it's beautiful and they are accommodating here but the timing of the food and a few more things need some work. The prices have gone up quite a bit but I got a steak it was their ribeye about 15 oz with please french fries mixed with vegetables and extra vegetables on the side. When I got the plate I took a taste at the steak and the seasoning was delicious but it was very lukewarm and I like my food hot. I sent it back just the steak for her to put it on the grill for a little longer and when it got back it was not as tender and it didn't have that same delicious taste and it was only grilled for a minute more which makes me think they probably put it under a broiler because the grilling didn't do anything for it it was slightly warmer but now I'm eating a so-so steak at quite a price. The servers are very nice. There's only me and one other table in here so I don't know why it took so long to get my food they might still be training or something I don't know. The coffee is they're organic Mexican coffee but it seems like it's different from what I remember it used to be darker roast and a little stronger this one seems kind of weak and you can get plain milk or powdered stuff for it and I prefer half and half or heavy cream. I had sparkling water which here is called minerale. Is decorated for Christmas right now so it's very pretty the updated look is nice. The televisions in here reflect the things going on at the restaurant and at the whole park they show the features of the park and the different drinks they make here and such. One Saving Grace is that they let my little service dog come in he helps me with detecting a possible PTSD episode and they didn't give me too much problem even though dogs are not really allowed. Some places in Mexico just welcomed dogs in others don't want them and some restaurants down here don't know about dogs that are therapy or service dogs. So I appreciated that. Though this is not a high rating I still think it's worth checking out because this could be one of those one-time things it is a lovely atmosphere. The kitchen might need a little work the server was accommodating and I appreciate that my family has come here before me and enjoyed it so what I experienced with the kitchen might be an anomaly. I recommend that you at least try it out and maybe if you have particular things you want say it ahead of time like you want to make sure that the meat is warm or hot not served lukewarm that kind of thing. If they have Specific Instructions beforehand they will probably be good if there is any doubt about how things will come out I'm sure people who come here really enjoy it.
