Well a-howdy-hidey-ho! When I stepped into Fincher's I felt nude without a hat on my head and a twang in my talk. This iconic two-story store -- painted a stark white and adorned with a big rust-colored horse statue on the 2nd story balcony -- has been a western store staple in Fort Worth since 1902. Other shops have come and gone, but you've always been able to find the essentials here at Fincher's White Front. Both classic and the latest trending in hats, jeans, boots, belts, buckles, button-ups, and so forth. Fincher's isn't enormous but it has a decent kids, womens, and mens section as well as Stockyards souvenirs, from toys to keychains, to shot glasses. All things Texas and western for all ages. The staff here is great. I'm pretty sure a legit cowboy with like 70+ years of ranching experience helped my friend and I find him some boots. We probably would have bought anything this dude tried to sell us, haha, he was very convincing with his western wear knowledge. And a young cowboy at the register helped us pick out pants! The prices at Fincher's are super affordable, especially compared to most of the retail options in the Stockyards. It's touristy and expensive, so prices are generally high around here. this place was fantastic - we were tourists not sure where to buy some authentic cowboy attire, the manager Chance was approachable and gave us a great service, he didn't advise us or push us toward the real expensive products he just lead with kindness and gave us a fantastic service whilst we shopped at our leisure - even with a beer! they even steamed the shirt I bought whilst I waited as I was wearing it to the rodeo straight away! My son was gifted a cowboy hat for Christmas. A friend who grew up in Fort Worth told us Fincher's was a great place to get his first hat based on quality and price point. We lucked out walking in around noon on a Tuesday (I heard the line can be out the door on a Saturday). A very helpful employee, Junior, helped him pick out a hat and style. Wow what can you say this is a very nice western wear store they have some awesome stuff. I was looking at the belts shew I never realized belts were this costly I have a bison belt that cast $150 but some of these were way over that and then the buckles are wonderful hand carved starting $100's to $1000's. You may have been moseying your way along Exchange, perhaps in anticipation of the four minute cattle drive that happens on time every time most afternoons, or just maybe you're ambling toward a giant steak dinner or some live music out. They do each of those things around here, but not at Fincher's. Fincher's has it's own thing going down, and like some other parts of the Stockyards area, appearances, at first, may prove deceiving. Worth noting that there's a pretty thorough inventory at the ready, and should you find yourself with a hankering for a pearl snap shirt, some on genre gear, or an exceptional (but actually somewhat affordable) pair of boots, they can likely get you to the finish line. I entered thinking we might get the customary price bump associated with staples of the tourist trade, but this spot didn't end up feeling that way to me at all. Its is easy (and fun!) to get swept up in the spirit of the stockyards. A main attraction for tourists, but also a fun place to walk around as a local. Wanting to dress the part, I've found Fincher's to be one of the better western wear stores with prices that are not outrageous. For my daughter's 2nd birthday we got her outfitted in a fabulous pink and white pearl snap shirt and pink cowgirl boots. A few months later I found myself in the market for some authentic cowgirl boots. After much shopping and jaw dropping at prices from other stores, I took myself back to Finchers to pick out my own pair. The staff was super helpful and taught me a thing or two about fit. I was in Fort Worth for work and as a spur of the moment moment decided to buy my first pair of cowboy boots! After checking out all of the stores in the stockyards I decided Finchers had the best deals. The salesman (who I gathered was the owner) was very friendly. Told me everything to look for in a boot and checked to make sure they fit good. He was not pressuring and as he said, "I'm not here to pressure you, just make sure your boots fit." We were in town from a vacation. Our family was shopping for some hats and boots. The men selling the hats made us feel uncomfortable, almost like we were pesky tourists. I sorta wanted to leave and take my &150 shopping somewhere else, but I didn't feel like walking more on this hot day. Their prices are not the greatest, and we didn't feel welcomed. We don't mind sales associates as long as they are there to help but not make you feel awkward. The ladies behind the counter were much nicer then the hat sales men, and even the manager wasn't so great either. I am a tough person to fit for a shoe never mind a cowboy boot. I didn't expect that I would be able to find boots in Fort Worth. Roger at Fincher's changed all of that for me. He was patient, suggestive, and very helpful. He explained boot sizing thoroughly and helped me try on several pairs. I was able to find a pair that I loved and I owe many thanks to Roger. I have a big head this was the only store open that had my size. I traveled down to Fort Worth and walked in that store and felt at home immediately. We had to of talked about the Midwest for an hour plus while the gentleman shaped my hat. They made a lifelong customer out of me and I will always shop their store before looking elsewhere. This was the place to come for my boot fitting experience. I swear I must've tried on 6 pair before I narrowed it down to one. And not for a minute was the man helping me frustrated or rude. I think his name was Casey. He brought me all the ones I wanted from $550 for caymans to $1200 for American gators. The Nile crocodiles were great looking boots but I just didn't like the fit. And the same goes for the American crocodiles. But the fit on the caymans were a little loose but they were very comfortable and looked perfect on me. The arapaima were so comfortable that I could sleep in them, but I'm not used to the look of this style. It ended up growing on me the more I looked at it and wore it next to the cayman. So I decided to buy both. And I bought my girlfriend pair too. So I'd say it was a successful shopping trip for both of us. read more

Never been so insulted by a salesperson, when asked if they carried a certain brand of boots, I was told they were not boots but tennis shoes. I had plenty of money to spend, but will not spend a dime there. Boots are a personal preference and if the salesperson didn't like my preference, he just had to say they didn't carry that brand instead of insulting my taste. read more

They are very mean to other races. I just asked if they have a new cowboy hat because the hat that I want looks some parts got worn out. The old man with cowboy hat ruthlessly said "this is new! ". I was really upset and lost feeling of buying the hat. Texas people are really mean. I don't know what they are proud of. They didn't learn anything. I just asked if they have a new one. We received a very generous gift certificate from a family member but couldn't find anything there in our style. The manager was not willing to work with me and I can't sell the certificate since its made out to one person. He was quite rude and I would never shop there. Beware of gift certificates and returns!
