Our older dog Franklin needed two separate lateral sutures to fix his torn ligaments in his knees…read more One in September when he hurt the first one which went fantastic no complications. Then the second one went (there was an 85% chance this would happen we were told) and they got Franklin in to see the doc the same day he was inquired to diagnose. Two days later he was set for surgery. Our family has seen Dr. Wally for year and year for many animals Great Grandma down to us. We had never worked with Dr. Harris before but I have to say after what happened Dr. Harris and her team WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO SAVE OUR POOR BOY! Franklin is an older dog and his heart stopped on the operating table. Dr. Harris was able to get his heart back started but then he was not breathing on his own. I assumed the worst possible brain damage, pain, and death. Dr. Harris told me on the phone as soon as it happened and we had to make some tough decisions. Since he was NOT breathing on his own my wife and I wanted so badly to save him but if he is in pain and not breathing on his own he thought it was time to end his suffering while he was still under anesthesia so he would not feel anything more. Dr. Harris explained to us the options for his body and my wife and I said our good byes to Franklin over the phone since no one though he would live long enough for us to make it to the clinic. I was literally on the phone with the receptionist after coming to terms with his passing and arranging the type of urn we wanted his ashes to be put into when I was put on hold. They came back in a few minutes and told me Franklin was STABLE!!! I rushed up to the clinic as fast as I could and Dr. Harris and her team let me back into the operating room to see him. Franklin was still under anesthesia and Dr. Harris said they wanted to try to flush his system with fluids to see if he would wake up once the anesthesia was out of his system. Dr. Harris said he would need overnight monitoring and that their clinic is not equipped for that. They gave us options on who to call but the only location who could help was Auburn Emergency and they wanted $4,000-$6,000 for the overnight monitoring. As much as we wanted to save Franklin we just flat out cannot afford that cost for a "maybe he lives" situation. Dr. Harris and her team worked with us and offered to keep Franklin at their clinic where a tech would stop in a few times during the night to check on him. We were very appreciative of their understanding and this accommodation offer. We elected to just take Franklin home that night since we could not afford the Auburn Emergency overnight and we felt that if Franklin was alone in a kennel he would be much happier (even if he passes away during the night) at home in his bed. Dr. Harris and her team were so unbelievably compassionate and helpful during this process. They worked so hard and did every single thing possible to save our sweet boys life. He made it thought the night without the need for fancy overnight monitoring and we hope he will live longer but even just the one extra night with Franklin that we thought we would never have was worth it.

Our daughter was graduating from Fort Benning and we traveled from IL with her fur baby. Ami helped us by keeping him during the ceremony so we could attend. We met her when we dropped off our daughter six weeks before. What first impressed us was that she was the only groomer in Columbus we contacted that wanted to meet our pup to make sure it was a good fit. We really appreciated that and knew she really cared about her animals and making sure they were all safe and not stressed. She kept him for an hour giving us time to go eat while they got acquainted. He did amazing and they were all so incredibly nice. Then, on graduation day, she came in earlier than her posted hours so we could attend the ceremony on time. He loved his time there and we felt so relieved to have a safe and loving place for him to be while we were away. Especially in an area we are not from or familiar with. It could not have gone better!! Her facility is well cared for, everyone working there is over the top friendly and it is clear they love what they do. We are so thankful for Ami and all of her help! We highly recommend Yuppy Puppy Grooming Salon and Doggy Hotel!

They have treated our standard poodle for almost 2 years. This past year Tyson cut the thin skin by his ankle area?? Idk close to his tendon. Running home with my son We rushed right over to the Vet and they seen him right away even though it was a few min to closing. They explained the cost and what it was for before doing anything. Tyson got surgery well of course my dog would find a way to penetrate the ace bandage like coating covering his stiches right 4 days before removal. So we go back....still not healed how about staples and a cone but again before they do anything they tell me the cost. We also boarded with them while we went on vacation Which is also a fee, but they were able to care for him and his Injury. *****for the few complainers below Going to the veterinarian is not cheap we all know this but if it needs to be done it needs to be done. And FYI call around to other vets and ask there prices compare!!! Hey if you don't like the diagnosis get a second opinion for another human veterinarian and.... Google does Not count. There are lower priced clinics out there But this office has a great staff all the way around. It is clean and does not smell I never have to wait too long for my sched. Appts. No one should go into the Vets office thinking they should receive free care. *do you go to your regular human doctor and expect or demand lower prices? ....no you don't and if you get lower prices at your doctor's office it's called insurance and they also offer insurance at the animal hospital for a monthly fee. I can't wait till the north-side office to open as we just Moved to Columbus

Absolutely Horrible Experience. Do Not Recommend…read more I boarded my dogs at 2nd Home Pet Resort through our vet's website, 2nd Avenue. I didn't realize this facility wasn't located at the actual vet's office. If I had noticed that detail, I never would have chosen this place. That part is on me. Unfortunately, the entire experience was a nightmare. I was told I would receive daily report cards and photos. I only received two photos on one day, and that only happened after I called three times asking for updates. After that, I received nothing for the rest of their stay. It felt like my dogs were being completely ignored. They were supposed to get a morning treat every day. They only received two out of the five days. On pickup day, they were supposed to eat around noon. I arrived at 5 p.m. to find out they still had not been fed. Their bedding was soaked in urine and covered in feces. Their treat bags had bite marks all over them like they had been left out and a dog got into them. To top it off, we provided an entire jar of calming chews, and it was not returned to us. It was disgusting and heartbreaking. Since coming home, my dogs have not been acting like themselves. I truly believe they were neglected and possibly traumatized while in this facility's care. I am sick over it. I would never recommend 2nd Home Pet Resort to anyone. No animal deserves to be treated like this, and honestly, this place should be shut down.
