Absolutely Horrible Experience. Do Not Recommend. I boarded my dogs at 2nd Home Pet Resort through our vet's website, 2nd Avenue. I didn't realize this facility wasn't located at the actual vet's office. If I had noticed that detail, I never would have chosen this place. That part is on me. Unfortunately, the entire experience was a nightmare. I was told I would receive daily report cards and photos. I only received two photos on one day, and that only happened after I called three times asking for updates. After that, I received nothing for the rest of their stay. It felt like my dogs were being completely ignored. They were supposed to get a morning treat every day. They only received two out of the five days. On pickup day, they were supposed to eat around noon. I arrived at 5 p.m. to find out they still had not been fed. Their bedding was soaked in urine and covered in feces. Their treat bags had bite marks all over them like they had been left out and a dog got into them. To top it off, we provided an entire jar of calming chews, and it was not returned to us. It was disgusting and heartbreaking. Since coming home, my dogs have not been acting like themselves. I truly believe they were neglected and possibly traumatized while in this facility's care. I am sick over it. I would never recommend 2nd Home Pet Resort to anyone. No animal deserves to be treated like this, and honestly, this place should be shut down. read more

My puppies had an amazing time there!!! Even my older girl who really doesn't like new people and places seemed to do amazing!! I LOVED getting the daily report cards and pictures!! They were even able to give my older grouchy girl a bath before we brought them home! I absolutely will use this place again!! read more

Our dog LOVES 2nd Home Pet Resort. He has been going to their daycare for 2 years and we have used the boarding services as well whenever we go on vacation. He is always well taken care of and we have never had a bad experience. Whenever there has been a health concern in the facility, they close for the day and do a deep clean. The facility is always clean and well kept, the staff is courteous and loves our dog. They are his second family. Cannot recommend 2nd Home Pet Resort enough. read more

We trusted these people to take care of our baby and they neglected him to the point where no one saw this even when he got a bath the day before pick up. We even took him to their vet to get their opinion. He said it was a wound from licking. Okay that seems reasonable. But why did no one see this in the whole week he was there?? This licking wound would not happen over night. Meaning he was in pain for who knows how long. That's what I'm upset about. Not that he has a wound but that they think it was a wound from licking. Why did I pay almost $500 for no one to notice him. A piece of plastic could've been stuck in his foot and would've been left there till we picked him up and noticed. We reserved their "XL" run their most expensive run and did not get that when we dropped him off. It was a smaller run half the size than what we saw on the tour. Reserved weeks in advance. We tried our best to get the best accommodations for him. No they did not refund us. I will not ask to be refunded. They should do it without me asking because that's the right thing to do. Regardless of the money no amount of money will take back the pain our baby suffered through. So all I want is to prevent this from happening to another family. Please share our experience with others. The best part is the kennel manger told me his feet were saturated from the water when cleaning the run because his water bowl spilled over. If that's the case why did no one dry it up? Why would his run be so saturated in water to cause a wound. When they returned our bag of toys. They reeked of urine. Why would anyone return that to us? That also made me think why did the toys smell like urine if they were cleaning their runs? There's so much that happened there that I can't even list everything without seeming like I'm over exaggerating the situation. *****The photos of them on concrete were sent to me everyday. Only on the 6th day they were moved after speaking to the manger. Unless they show me time stamps on the video cameras of them being moved to the XL runs, let out on the grass everyday, let out every other hour then I'll gladly take down those portions of my review. However there's no excuse as to why my baby suffered for days with a raw toe. read more

The facility is amazing. Clean. But the front desk staff is the most unprofessional, rude, and unfriendly group of people . My 1st experience was a woman biting my head off about paperwork (her mistake because it was right there in her hands) and the 2nd experience was when I called and she bit my head off when I asked if she had proof of rabies to give the vet a date. RUDE RUDE RUDE. As nice as a facility it is I will NEVER bring my pets back there. She was even unprofessional to the vets office when they called her. read more

Excellent care for my babies!! I love this place and feel very confident in their excellent care for my pets. We are new to the area. Right after we arrived we went on a small trip and boarded our two dogs at another facility. We were unsatisfied with that place to say the least (kennels instead of runs, dogs returned with ticks on them, staff was rude and argumentative, etc.). When we planned another short weekend trip I really considered just taking the dogs on the 12 hour ride. Until I found Second Home. The staff was knowledgeable, polite, caring and well trained. Their operation is a well oiled machine. Everyone is calm and kind. The facility itself features an adorable boutique area along with day care and kennel runs. It was the perfect spot for our dogs and they came home happy. That's really all that matters to us. Will definitely be using them again ASAP! read more

This is a far cry from a pet resort. My dogs were boarded here overnight after being referred by 2nd Ave Vet Clinic, which had no openings. When we made the reservation we were told they would have a 6'x4' room with beds. When we arrived to pick them up my husband observed one of our dogs in a crate. Both dogs were saturated in urine and reeked. We had to drive home with all the windows down in the 90 degree weather to keep from gagging from the stench. While we bathed our dogs we noticed one of them was bleeding behind her hind legs. She clearly must have been caged as well and never taken out based on the dried urine around her sides, stomach, and back legs. When we called today to report our findings to the so called "pet resort", poor excuse after excuse was made. Then they offered a discount for our next stay. That won't be happening EVER! Take your pets elsewhere-PLEASE! read more

I tried to take a tour of this place but the door was jammed and I thought it was locked. I go to my car and call them to let me in and no one answers. I call back 2 more times and still no answer. Then I see an employee go in so I run in behind her. There was one lady behind the desk and about 4 others standing around her chit chatting. They all dispersed as soon as I walked up. I asked for a tour and the front desk lady radioed to the back for someone to come but no one shows. After a few minutes she radios again. Still no one shows. There is a window behind the front desk so I can see at least 3 employees just standing there doing nothing as I'm waiting for a tour. I guess they dont understand how a clear glass window works. Besides the employees being incompetent, they let all the dogs out at once so it was very loud, mass chaos. If you have an older dog with anxiety as I do this is NOT the right place for one who needs peace. read more
