I received a call about genetic counseling and the VM said they were calling from Finley Hospital. I go online to get the phone number and see it is actually now called UnityPoint Health. I call the number, they answer the phone, "Finley Hospital" I asked for genetic counseling and am told they don't offer that service. I said that the person who left the message said they were from Finley. I asked about the Wendt Cancer Center attached to them and she says, "Oh, yeah!" and transfers me back in to the main phone chain. I had to start all over. Maybe a fact sheet would help to allow you to be able to give correct info to callers. Thank you!

I was in the emergency room this week cared for by Dr. Lucas and nurse Elizabeth (Liz) . I was cared for right away and made comfortable. We all know it can be very crowded and long waits at emergency rooms but it's just never seems to be a bad experience a Finley. They watch the waiting room very carefully understanding who is in the room and who needs what and that they are safe. Thank you Dr. Lucas and nurse Liz!

I just need to say that from reception to registration, to surgery and post-op I was very impressed with the professionalism, efficiency and personal attention from the staff here. I was properly informed about the procedures, the costs, the expected outcomes, which his not often the case (and may I add not at all the case with the referring doctor in Galena.) So, I really appreciate the care I got here, coming in with no expectations. Thanks, guys and gals!

it is difficult to know how many stars to give. with that…read morebeing said, i will explain everything, and let you decide if the rating i give is justified. i have training in medical assisting and phebotomy. the first thing i learned in those classes was to put rubber gloves on. was taught these concepts ad nauseum. and rightfully so. i was transferred to mercy hospital from midwest medical in galena. because i had breathing difficulties, because of what turned out to be blood clots in my lungs. the ********nurses********and doctors were awesome. i want to stop here and say what needs to be said. one specific nurse really put a bad taste into my mouth that remains to this day! when this nurse named mark, gave me shots, he ****did not**** wear gloves. to this day, i still cannot get over this. i was shocked to see this nurse not wear gloves, and i was too shocked to say anything. i guess he thought that he was immune to my germs, and to all the other germs that other patients had\have. wow!! every other nurse that touched me\gave me shots gloved up. this reason alone is why i will give the hospital 1 star. let me reiterate that everyone except for this nurse was awesome. 1 star because of the bad taste in my mouth.

Even after tests and seeing two other drs who confirmed I was in kidney failure - Dr ries and some nurses continue to treat me as a suicide patient. And they were mean!! I was screaming to them telling them I did not overdosed! And so did my spouse! All night as I was in kidney failure a nurse continued to tell me she " didn't believe me! She saw my blood panel and I overdosed!" Christy the nurse was rude, uncaring and left me alone in my room went I had another episode of not be able to move or talk!! I thought I was dying and was scared to death!! Yet she lives me alone when my kidney dr should have been called! She also refused to let me talk to my dr! Or make any phone calls!! My two,drs came in the next morning and confirmed again I did not overdose! The tests confirmed all that!! But I continued to be treated badly and dr Ries from the Er sent a physiatrist to see me!! This physiatrist also continued to tell me I overdosed! She called me a terrible mother and a terrible person! And continued to degrade me until I had enough!!! I walked out of mercy against my kidney drs orders! But this physiatrist would not stop humiliating me, belittling me!!! I would never Recommend mercy, Dr Ries or Dr lee and nurse Christy! I will never go to mercy again!! But what really worries me....how do these two drs treat real suicide patients?!?! I fell so bad for any depressed person to go to mercy and be treated so disrespectfully! When all they need is love. You will not find love from these two drs or staff at mercy. Shame on u Dr ries and Dr lee and for mercy to allow these drs to practice there! And to let nurses treat u so badly!!

I can't say enough great things about the practice and about Dr. Ewen, who I was fortunate enough to see as my primary care doctor for 4 years. I was really surprised to find such a great practice in a small town like Dubuque. Specifically, my providers always listened to me and addressed my concerns. They didn't lecture me or act like they knew more than me. I really hated to move away, mostly because I knew I would lose Dr. Ewen and this practice. But if you're in or near Dubuque, I have the highest confidence in recommending Grand River Medical family practice.

I really didn't expect any more from them as they have been going downhill with increasing speed lately. Unless you are rich, you have to be wise where you spend your health care dollars, and probably should be concerned about angry, hostile, uncaring people treating you, so, again -- buyer beware.

I was vastly uncomfortable and unfortunately (or maybe not) the only donor in the entire center. The rest of the staff were on their phones looking bored while this girl was digging around in my arm. At this point I was hoping she would just drain me and end my suffering (shouldn't she be better at this) before calling for help. The other girl looked at my arm, shook her head, and they finally pulled the needle. I got some snacks and a 10 dollar gift card. 0/10 not worth the gift card and mediocre snacks.

My daughter mistakenly ended up here instead of at Mercyone next door (she is new to the Dubuque…read morearea). They ran her insurance card and did not inform her it was an out-of-network provider. (She had looked it up first and knew Mercyone WAS in-network--she just ended up at the wrong building-they are right next to each other) . Proceeded to treat her for possible rabies exposure--and now is houndng her for over $7000. According to my insurance EOB's we should "only" owe them about $2300, but they don't accept price breaks that most insurances offer. (Mind you my insurance company has already payed them $1933.55). My insurance informed me that what they charged me "exceeds the reasonable allowable amount" and gave me resources to appeal. I went through the appeal process, they reached out on my behalf to help negotiate. The clinic told them it is in their policy NOT to negotiate any bills with insurance companies. This predatory behavior by the medical industry HAS to stop! While I know this review probably won't accomplish much, I am going to keep fighting on my daughter's behalf so this clinic cannot do this to other unsuspecting patients.
