We contracted with the junkluggers to clean out my mom's apartment on Wednesday June 24th. On June…read more18th, I had emailed Junkluggers the certificate of insurance that my mother's building required. On June 23rd at 9AM, I called to see if the COI was ready to be sent to the building and I was told it was not done yet. I called at noon and at 3:00 and every time was told the same thing, it was being worked on. Then at 4:00 I was told the Internet was down and the COI would not be sent until the following morning which was the day of the appointment. I reminded them that if the building did not get the COI, the appointment would have to be canceled. Thankfully the district manager was able to email the COI to me at 5:00 which I then forwarded to the building management. When we had made our appointment, we were told we'd be getting four workers and two trucks to clean out the apartment, instead one truck and two men showed up. The men who showed up did a good job but once the truck was filled, they had to leave. My mother's apartment building did not allow furniture removal after 4PM and we were told the company had no idea when the second truck would arrive. We were advised to reschedule and have the second truck come Friday morning. We were told we would be first on the schedule for Friday, but the truck did not arrive at my mom's apartment until almost 11 o'clock. The two men on the second truck had a lot of problems figuring out how to remove the remaining furniture from the apartment and had to be told several times to take out all the remaining furniture and bags. Pro: They honored the estimate even though our final load was slightly more than estimated Con: The COI should had been completed earlier and not delayed until right before the appointment. When you contract for four men with two trucks, that is who should show up for the job. We should not be inconvenience to have to come back a second day.

I had exercise equipment in the attic (lat machine, leverage benches, NordicTrack non-motor treadmills) and they took them apart as needed and hauled them out, as well as a lot of weight plates; they took four Jeep tires out of the basement. They also took a ton of miscellaneous household stuff out of my house and out of our neighbor's basement. The cost was very reasonable especially considering that they were hauling away exercise equipment, tires and weight plates.

We needed him to pick up and move a sofa bed into our house. We didn't know anything about Charley when we set up the appointment, and by the time the job was finished, we were so impressed with him as a person, with his skills, and absolutely blown away by his old-fashioned work ethic. Never, ever could I have imagined how difficult this job would be. The sofa bed was on the second floor of a converted barn. The room it was in was renovated with the furniture inside it, meaning, when the new walls and door were built, there was no consideration given to how big pieces of furniture would ever get out of there. Charley had to take the door off its hinges and completely take apart the sofa bed to get it down the narrow flight of stairs. Then he rebuilt it in our home and did it perfectly.
