I can't believe I haven't completed a review for Fins! This is my go to place. It is always consistent. I always order take out or delivery from this place or dine in. There's a small parking lot but I never have any issues with parking. The fish is fresh and the is a lot of variety in rolls from simple to fancy. Service is good and very nice. It is a clean restaurant. If you love salmon, get the salmon combo! Avocado salad is my favorite as well. The only thing is I wish there were more dessert places around the area that is walkable so we can have something sweet close by. read more

It's Christmas Day and we were tasked with bringing Sushi to the family gathering at 5pm. Our usual go-to spot, Super Fusion in Watertown, was on a "break" and reopening at 5pm. This prompted us to look for alternatives...Fins in Waltham was open and taking orders and allowed us to get the Sushi on time. We tried it. We ordered the large boat raw and maki raw. $160 worth of sushi. The order was prepared quickly for pick up. There is a bunch of off street parking. The restaurant has about 8 various sized tables in side and a bar that seats probably another 6 or 7. The place looks clean and modern. The lone worker was pleasant and friendly. The order was correct and packaged well. Compared to Super Fusion in Watertown: 1. We usually order the party platter from Super Fusion as well, but it does cost like $20-$30 more at Super Fusion. However, they do give you more sushi...but no miso soup included anymore. 2. The family agrees that Super Fusion tastes better. I also noticed the sashimi was larger from Super Fusion. 3. One family member spat out a small piece of bone in their sushi from Fin's. This never happened at the other place, and we've gone to them for many years. 4. Fin's is more generous with providing enough wasabi and soy sauce when we asked for extra. 5. Fin's looks a lot more modern and fancy...they are in fact a newer establishment in the area. The free off street parking matters as well, as you only get street meters for Super Fusion. While we're glad to give a new place a try, and the sushi is not bad, we think Super Fusion is better. My kid and her friends frequently go to Fin's due to convenience and thats perfectly fine. I hope they stay around for a long time, as having options and competition is good. I'm thankful they were open and taking orders on Christmas Day, and I was served with a smile. Thank you! read more

I got lunch here today and ordered the three Maki rolls. The portions were good, but I thought the fish was a bit bland. I'm not sure how fresh it was. I've had much better sushi in other places. If you've ever had sushi at Sawa in Shrewsbury, you know what good maki rolls taste like. I wanted to like this place because it is near my work, but I'm inclined to try some other sushi places in the area. Getting in and out of the parking lot is also a real struggle. read more

A great local sushi shop. As a bonus they have parking spots out front. It was a rainy Sunday night and that was a welcome change from the other restaurants in the area. The sashimi and rolls were very fresh. Our daughter got the grilled steak teriyaki. The meat was tender with a nice grilled taste and it came with a lot of perfectly cooked vegetables. Fresh and tasty sushi rolls, in a bright, clean dining room, with a front of house that recognizes its frequent customers. Service was fast at our 1p Saturday lunchtime. My friend and I were in and out in 30 solid minutes. They took our orders fast, served the dishes fast, and kept our water and tea cups filled. It's too bad there weren't more diners - we were the only ones - but it was also the Saturday of the holiday Fourth of July weekend, which must've depressed turnout. Quiet and unassuming, this gem is hidden in plain sight. Simple small layout with plenty of seating. Service is eager and prompt. The food is spectacular! What a cute restaurant with delicious food! It's a bit unassuming from the outside along a busy street, but Fin's has a bright, open atmosphere inside. We enjoyed lunch on a late Sunday afternoon and highly recommend the beef fried rice, Chirashi sushi bowl, and the tuna poke bowl. The poke bowl was a unique and deliciously fun surprise with strawberries, mango, and avocado. The bowls came with miso soup, and everything was fresh and yummy. We recently moved to the neighborhood and tried Fin's. We were so surprised at the presentation and quality -- really great. The sushi was delicious, service was prompt and good quality, and the delivery was fast. The sushi menu had a lot of the classics and some fun takes on more modern and unique combinations. The house roll was DELICIOUS. We will definitely be back in the future for more sushi! Love love love Fin's. The first thing I have to say is that it is small and scrupulously clean. The tables were not full on this Sunday night, but the Uber Eats drivers were in and out constantly. The fresh spring roll appetizer is fabulous. Fresh and flavorful. The basil just jumps out at you. I could eat this every night. The miso soup was electricity but different than usual. It had a smoky flavor that I adored. Not the stuff of a typical American Japanese style restaurant. I had Fin's Don which is a bowl of rice covered in a variety of sashimi. Donburi is one of my favorite dishes. This was executed perfectly with lots of choices. I like the balance of flavors. My wife's grilled salmon with salad was enormous! Thanks (once again) to my fellow Yelpers and their accurate reviews which brought us here for dinner tonight. Staying in Waltham for the night and wanted sushi...this place stood out. Located in a small strip mall with some parking on premise, which we lucked out as I thought we would have to deal with street parking. Arrived just after 7pm and it was good sign to see 3 tables with patrons and about a handful of people waiting for takeout. Our server advised when we sat down that the sushi chefs are quite busy and any order from there would take 20 minutes, totally appreciate the info upfront! I liked the offer of hot water, which helped as my tummy was not 100%. Ordered fresh roll (more Viet style than Japanese...) and vegetable udon for my 9 yr old and I still opted for the Fin's Don. Udon noodle was cooked perfectly and the broth was perfect in flavour and enjoyed the variety of greens offered in the bowl! Was not particularly pleased with the fresh rolls as they were underwhelming but my kid enjoyed them, which that's what counts! Now for the pièce de resistance...I like to have uni from a sushi place as a tester: if the uni is good, that sets the tone for the rest of the fish...and Fin's delivered! The uni were fresh looking as well in taste which echoed in the other sashimi in the bowl. Would definitely dine here again should the opportunity presents itself in the future! read more

My wife and I went in to try the new(er) restaurant to town. We have always gone to the other sushi restaurant across the street so we thought we would check these guys out. Favorite part of the meal was the Ocean Maki (?) - came with a sweet wasabi sauce that was delicious. The fish was very fresh, and as another reviewer mentioned, perhaps more fresh and of higher quality than some of the other "big name" sushi spots in the area.
