    Sushi for Two

High quality sushi spot serving great fish in a welcoming setting. Foods: I've ordered pick up a number of times and the Sushi for 2 Combo has been such a treat and consistently good. All of the rolls and nigiri are prepared very well and the unique fish flavors really come through. Service: The front of house is always super pleasant and the speed of the kitchen staff astound me. I ordered pickup around early dinner and they had my order ready in almost 10 minutes. Not only was the dining area filled seated there were piles of pickup orders beside mine. Atmosphere: The interior is super clean with pleasant light wood furnishing and the chefs station could be watched from all tables.

Would have been so good if the rice was not dry.

A Japanese Restaurant should have good moist rice. That's just Rule #1. At this visit, the rice was dry. Like it was yesterday's rice. Dry rice affects the sushi, the bento box, maki - you can't not have good rice at a Japanese Restaurant. That's just super disappointing. The Tempura was decent, but could be lighter on the batter. I live in Newton, I so would love a good Japanese Restaurant. I hope the owner reads this and make improvement because I'd love to come back, it's close to my house. I don't think it's hard to make good rice.

Haven't been here in a few years. Was happy to see that their quality and service was still on point. Sashimi was very fresh. We also got 2 spicy salmon handrolls (forgot to take a pic until we got to our last bite) - big full pieces of salmon and not the grind up one like some places). The pork katsu had the perfect amount of crunch and not overly oily. The meat inside was not hard or dried. Ikura was fresh but also a bit sweet compared to others. We had wanted the Hamachi kama, but they were out so we got the Hotate Hokkaiyaki. This was done very differently compared to other places. It wasn't bad but not something I would get here again.

Sushi is very good. Other Japanese dishes are okay (stir fried noodles, tempura, miso soup). Easy place to bring young kids.

Our favorite sushi place! Every roll we have eaten is decadent and memorable and the saki and green tea got us through the winter.

Chutoro tuna w/ chives - clean and simple showcasing the Chutoro overall. Otoro nigiri - texturally had a bit of like tendon type chew in the pieces I had, which i didn't expect from Otoro. Otoro is usually my favorite! Will have to eat at the restaurant with her next time.

Came here for dinner the other day with a friend & we did walk-in. We were able to get seated at the bar immediately. Though the restaurant was essentially empty at the time & there looked like many tables available, I guess they block them off for reservations only? Ended up being a full house by the time we finished our meal! There were so many unique options to choose from but we ended up getting the following: -tuna tacos -6 nigiris (2 otoro, 2 yellowtail, & 2 black bass) -phoenix roll -southside roll -lychee martini -"I trust the nanny" drink Take out order (after our meal): -nor'easter roll -spicy tiger roll -chutoro tuna w/ chives roll -4 otoro nigiris The fish tasted super fresh! Rolls were all very flavorful too! All of the rolls we ordered all had hints of spice & microgreens, which normally I wouldn't care for in my rolls but they managed to make it work well! My favorites from the dinner were the otoro nigiri & the phoenix roll! I love otoro & I love a torched salmon moment hehe, so though I enjoyed everything we ordered, those two were my personal favorites. I wish I had known about SushiCo sooner but I'm happy I was able to visit! Will definitely be back again for more sushi... much better than many of the "high-end" sushi restaurants in Boston (i.e. O ya, Oishii, Zuma, etc) in my opinion! Prices are higher than your typical neighborhood sushi joint BUT the quality is amazing & worth the coin! Parking: street parking

I've seen salmon, tuna, toro, uni, squid, crab, and more. You can ask the staff to cut up the fish blocks for you, I'm not sure if this is for a small cost. They can add your fish to a bed of rice for an extra cost. They also have seafood that you cook, those items are in separate fridges with a label stating that the product is recommended for cooking. These items are frozen. You can also find different sauces, sushi rolling mats, seaweed, anything you can think of to help you prepare sushi. If you don't want to make your own sushi, you can order sushi from their menu and they will make it on the spot for you. Depending on the day or time you visit, there may be a little wait. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon one time and waited ~10-15 minutes for two sushi rolls because there was only one person working on the sushi behind the counter and one person taking care of the register. Please be patient with them as they seem like a family-owned small business. You can also call ahead to order party trays. The prices seem fair, I've never been disappointed with the quality of fish. Very neat environment, there are signs for everything. The staff is also super friendly!
