Very good Shepard pie. Flavor is rich and hard to see but the sauce/geavy is thick and hearty

I had lunch today at Fionn MacCool's (Hwy 7/Hwy 27). I ordered Butter Chicken Curry. I love curry and this was good, though the rice was a bit crunchy in places. I'd get this again. I felt like something sweet so ordered brownies and ice cream. The ice cream was good. The brownies were just okay. They weren't very brownie-like and not very chocolatey. I ate the ice cream and only one brownie. I wouldn't order this again.

I visited on a Sunday afternoon, Mother's day. It wasn't that busy the dining room was full however the bar was pretty empty. Our server was nice a little on the shy side but very attentive. I ordered the chicken tacos that came with chips and guac. Very filling, slightly spicy but Tasted delicious. My mother got glazed salmon. Which was tasty and light yet satisfying. I also ordered a white sangria which tasted good but had a little too much ice and only two pieces of fruit.

Last biz meeting of the day before a gruelling board meeting. Needed to get a sanity check and a few fine ales to deaden the nerves before the night ahead. FMac has places around town and also has several different banners they go by. Each are similar but can have unique features. This place is the newest one that I know of and is situated well. At the corner of HWY27 and HW7, it is nestled between two new-ish hotels. Though I've never seen it busy - when I've been there. I'm pretty sure that the place is hopping once all the business people get back to their tiny rooms and need to forage for food and entertainment. FMac's food is standard pub fare - their Irish Waffled Nachoes are a real standout - YUM! Plenty of beers and shots to be had. Service is always with a smile and a good time was had by all. Cheers!

Great pub food and a great place to come and hang out with friends and have a few drinks while watching the game. Very enthusiastic and friendly staff that make you feel very welcome. Very fast service as well. I ordered the Flagship Bacon Burger with Fries. The burger consisted of a 100% Canadian beef patty, double-smoked bacon, chippers, red wine braised onions, lettuce, tomato and grainy mustard mayo. Topped off with a bacon. It was a great burger and the fries were perfect as they were perfectly cooked and were nice and crispy. They have great live music on various nights as well which makes for a great night out.

This place is so kewl. Nice heated patio. Great beer. I love their Blarney fries. It's basically nachos with waffle fries instead of chips (picture below). Innovation! Very tasty. Once you go Blarney you will never go back to nachos. Great service. Free WiFi.

Staying at the "Element" hotel across the parking lot..a very quick walk makes this place really handy. Irish themed pub with a multitude of beers on tap and very pleasant waitresses to serve them. I had Salmon for dinner ...and for pub food, wow, really good! For a new place ...and on a Tuesday night, pretty busy! If you are in the area I don't think you can go wrong. Give it a try!

We've been back several times now, and the food quality and service have been consistently excellent. They always start you off with a complimentary plate of cheese and bread, which is generous enough to be filling on its own. We've tried quite a variety of dishes and enjoyed almost all of them. Dishes we've tried: - Bone marrow: Best enjoyed hot, with a nice refreshing flavour. - Miso black cod: My favorite dish here -- honestly better than what I've had at many Japanese restaurants. The fish was fresh, cooked to perfect tenderness, and beautifully flavored. - Salads: My son loved it; I found it fairly ordinary. - Mushroom pizza: Great dough, creamy, with generous toppings. Really enjoyed this one. - Watermelon and burrata: No complaints at all. - Shrimp pasta: Well-flavored with a solid portion size. - Steak: Not what I expected -- a thin, deep-fried cutlet rather than a premium cut. The only dish I didn't love. - Oxtail: A seasonal special, cooked wonderfully tender with a bright, refreshing flavor. Loved it. - Chocolate mousse: Another standout -- you really can't go wrong with a good dessert. Overall, I highly recommend Smokes and Mirrors if you're looking for fine-dining quality at great value ($50-$80 per person), paired with a quiet atmosphere and warm, attentive service.

Already I have my judgement and second thoughts... maybe as a local, I should check out somewhere else? As we entered this side door, the sign said we needed reservations to be seated. We knocked on the door and asked, they accommodated us. Vaccine passport checked. There's also outdoor seating available, though there's no shade. The place was dead. We were the only customers... we didn't know that until we stepped in, so we were committed at that point. Not the type of vibe that's very welcoming when it's dead and the doors don't look opened. We ordered the cheese steak and fries (sushi-grade steak on the menu) $19. The special that day was the 1lb of wings for $15 that comes with fries or salad. Regularly, the wings don't come with a side. I like the sauce with the wings, tequila chipotle with lime. The server was also attentive, but like I said, we were the only ones there! The food is okay! The salad is fresh, and the fries are crispy. The menu is a standard pub affair and the decor leaves me wanting something more exciting. Oh, there's a check-in offer for a free dessert, which I missed, so please take advantage of it. As a traveller at the hotel, you'll be satisfied with the food. As a local, nothing really stood out to go out of my way for a revisit.

We've never had British food, so this was definitely a unique experience. The ambiance was very mysterious, with the dim lighting and wooden decor. I thought it was very nice for dates specifically, and the little candle on the tables was a nice touch. They had a few booth seats and regular seats. We ordered a steak pie, along with a tofu and eggplant Thai curry. They were both very delicious and filling. The Thai curry was bursting with spices and flavours that I haven't experienced in any other dish, and I loved it. The steak pie was not my order, but from what I was told, it was very stuffed, included various textures and was full of flavour. Them, we got an aperol spritz and beer. The aperol was very delicious, and i'm super glad since this is only my second time trying one so I was nervous i'd be let down. It had a very orange, tangy twist. The beer came in a really fun looking cup, so that gave us a good laugh. The service was great, our waitress was very kind and answered and questions we had about the food.
