When I first arrived at Four Points by Sheraton in Etobicoke, the signage that you see first is Fionn, followed by Welcome. The latter is the hotel entrance. Fionn intrigued me. I don't think that I had ever dined at a Fionn McCool in my life before this visit. Yes, I lead a sheltered life. After spending a day getting my CPR certification at work (I passed with flying colours and I miss my mannequin... haha!), I needed dinner. I decided to head back to the hotel and give Fionn McCool's a try. I hauled my stuff back to my room and simply headed over to this restaurant with my purse. I was immediately greeted at the host area. The woman seated me in a quaint corner. The padded bench seats were high, even for someone like me who is fairly tall. I was comfy. My server came over roughly seven minutes later. I didn't mind. It was enough time for me to review the beverages and food menus. I wanted wings. I ordered 1.5 pounds of wings in the buff (that is, they don't have any flour coating on the wings). I went with salt and pepper. The wings come with veggies. I chose ranch dip. I also ordered a Diet Pepsi. The raspberry blood orange cosmo intrigued me. I went for it. It came out first. It was delicious. The fruit flavours worked well together. There were crushed raspberries at the bottom of my glass. I didn't waste anything. I highly recommend this drink. My wings came next. Another server brought them out and indicated that I be careful. They were hot out of the fryer. I got two drumsticks out of the batch of wings. They were yummy! I was so happy. I liked dipping my celery and carrot sticks into the ranch dressing. Wings are in the appetizer section of the menu. It can completely serve as dinner. I felt like dessert. I asked my server for a dessert menu. She seemed so happy that I wanted more. I ordered the brownies and vanilla ice cream. I was so happy when my dessert came to my table. The presentation was cheerful and nice. I dug in. The brownies were moist, fudgy, and scrumptious. Vanilla ice cream balanced out and complemented the brownies nicely. My server came over and asked what I thought. I was in heaven eating everything. This eatery surprised me. I sat there and realized that there was live music. An older man was playing his guitar and singing during my entire time there. He played a bunch of classic rock songs. He had a great voice. I appreciated his talent and I dined, clapping after each of his songs without flinging my wings across the restaurant. I didn't realize that Fionn McCool's accepts Scene points. It's known as the Pubs on the app. I managed to get 20x the points my loading an offer on my app. Nice! My server was friendly and helpful. She got my bill and asked whether I wanted to charge my meal to my room. I paid with a credit card instead. Easy peasy. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. Many folks drop by to watch the game (Leafs were playing when I was here), have a drink or meal, and leave. I had a great experience. The manager came over to ask how I was. Enjoyed late night eats and breakfast the following day. Loved that we could get the full menu at 10 pm and enjoyed the acoustic music. One of my companions said the chicken pot pie was dry, but my mini Yorkies were excellent, as was the sticky toffee pudding that all three of us ordered - no sharing for us! It was too good. Breakfast standards - eggs and toast, French toast and eggs Benedict- all served with home fries were great, with the exception of the bacon - which wasn't as crisp as requested. Mediocre food complimented with HORRIBLE customer service. Added item on our bill that we never ordered. After asking the waitress to fix the bill, we noticed being overcharged for one of the daily special item on the 'fixed' bill. Talked to our waitress first and she insisted that is the right price until we requested to see the menu. We LITERALLY had to point her the item price to convince her to fix it. Neither did the floor manager or our waitress bothered to apologize the entire time like it was our fault to correct them. I did not expect a place like this at the Four Points Sheraton. It's a nice motel/hotel, but this place is like somewhere you might go in downtown. First night (Thursday), had a Fionn's Power bowl with salmon and was so pleasantly surprised. Did not expect a delicious healthy option like this at an Irish Pub. The live music was absolutely awesome. It was a one-man show. Guy was playing really good classic rock with a headless guitar. He looked like the typical Canadian uncle but sounded like Don Henley. Deeply receding hairline with number 4 buzz cut, brushed up and spiked to the sky, all perfectly even length. Almost like a receding flat-top. He could rock though! Maybe his brushed up crew cut was the result of jamming so vigorously that he built up static electricity all the way up to his head. He was too good though. Like too good to be playing at a pub on Wednesday night. It made me wonder if he was playing the music.... or perhaps was the music possessing him and playing THROUGH him? As if by some miracle there was a role reversal, and electric guitar became the master, and he the slave? The brushed up fuzzy hair seemed evident that the electricity overcame him, and he was just a passenger on a wild ride. Second night was quite busy. Watched the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Las Vegas Knights. I had a toffee pudding with vanilla and water. That right there says it all. It's an Irish sports bar, but still cosmopolitan enough that I could order a sissy-ass toffee pudding with vanilla and not worry that I'm going to get beat up. read more

Quality of Food (5/5) Everything was made-to-order with accommodations / tweaks needed for us. This may be a pub serving alcoholic drinks and deep-fried foods but surprisingly the healthier and heartier food were amazing too. Everything was plated pretty and tasted great too! The desserts were priced very affordable and my group was able to share it. I'd recommend the brownie because it was pure chocolate bliss! Price (4/5) I was expecting it to cost more since it was attached to the hotel but was reasonably price. I came with a large group (over 10+) and they didn't charge us the traditional group fee most restaurants impose on the bill. Customer Service (5/5) Came here after the crazy disorganized nerd convention known as Anime North. Waitress was very accommodating and attentive to our need esp. allergy alerts. She notified us that the kitchen staff will ensure no cross-contamination would be occur which was greatly appreciated. Environment / Ambiance (5/5) Loved the environment. Very spacious and the chairs / booths were clean and comfortable! I'm used to pubs with that "grimy" feeling so it was a surprise for me. It should be noted, we went during dinner time and it was not busy at all. Usually, I would assume it's not busy because the food wasn't good but I believe given it's a Sun night where probably most hotel guests have checked out the morning of, it was fine by me. Pubs and main-stream restaurants can get too loud for me. Overall (5/5) Highly recommended and will most likely visit this pub again next year for the convention! read more

Wonderful experience here this evening. The lovely waitress Cheryl was exceptional! A true asset to this organization. Her bubbly personality and excellent customer service skills should definitely be noted. Went above and beyond to satisfy not only my requests, but the tables around me as well! Another delightful employee here this evening was Elvis. He was observant to every single thing around the restaurant and listened to any requests there might have been. Incredible sense of humour and just a wonderful, personable person to be around. The gentleman playing music tonight in the bar was magnificent as well! Finally tried out this not-so-new Fionn's this month with a group of 10 for a Christmas dinner. We all ordered appetizers and drinks and all came out quick. Appetizers were delicious. Everyone's mains came out promptly as well and everyone raves about their meals. Our waitress was also lovely. Honestly wasn't expecting much from a Cara chain but these guys exceeded our expectations. I've been back twice more since and each time was as great as the last. Good job Fionns!! read more
