I don't get to Mississauga often. In fact, if it weren't for Square One, and friends who need to get to Square One, I'd probably never go there. So, when my buddy's bar band was playing at a place that was nowhere near Square One, and that was kind of on my way to my buddy's place after we got off stage at Club 54, I decided to swing by and watch my pal's band rock the house. It's a British-style bar that brings some nice tradition with it. Don't let the fact that it's in a strip mall fool you, it's got quite a bit of charm. It's set up in an L-shape, the bar lining the one wall with central tables and banquettes running parallel towards the stage area. There's also a patio which is secluded and quiet, that provides some sanctuary if you don't' dig the band's Tragically Hip cover. Another friend of mine (there appears to be a lot of my friends in this place for some reason) ordered wings which in turn made me order a plate. The wings appeared to be the size of a baby's forearm. Disturbing as that image may be, they were meaty and tasty. Sadly, I had to stick with honey-garlic as the majority didn't want spicy. This place is located in a non descript area surrounded by condo buildings. They're lucky! This place is cozy and has great food! Had the pizza which was fresh out of the oven. Also had the bangers and mash. Mashed were tasty, not like from a box. The beans had a nice taste to it that I cannot pinpoint exactly what the flavour combination was, but it worked well. Went here when there was a live performer. Could get noisy. Some people dance in a small area by the door. The service could be better however. read more

Myself along with 3 family friends tried this place over the weekend after I had read positive reviews about it and found ourselves in the area. None of us were overly-satisfied with the experience and I doubt any of us would return voluntarily. They do appear to have a nice patio which would seem nice in the summer; however, it's currently facing a construction zone that doesn't appear to be going anywhere soon. It labels itself as an English pub and they've done very nice things with the décor. I especially appreciate the rows of books at the back of the pub. There are numerous flat screen TVs distributed throughout the pub, playing various sports games/races. The servers are friendly and prompt, although, they asked a couple of questions indicating they weren't familiar with the menu. The atmosphere was pleasant and laid back, The menu has "traditional English fare" at traditional English prices. A typical entrée will cost between $12-$15. Their bar menu is more reasonable with beers ranging from $3-6. One friend has a gluten allergy and only had one option to choose from when picking a main. Thankfully, she was somewhat in the mood for salad but when asked how it was, she responded "it's lettuce." Not the best review of a dish I'd ever heard. The rest of us ordered traditional English classics. Two of the members in the party were very curious about the strange aftertaste left by the "bangers" in the bangers and mash. I must admit, I tried it and couldn't label the strange taste either. The fish and chips were decent but slightly over priced. The best part of that dish for me was the coleslaw of which I could have eaten that dressing all day. When time for coffee and dessert, this place lost another star or two. One person in our party wanted decaf (which they didn't have) and the one person who wanted dessert was underwhelmed by the ONE option available, a deep fried mars bar. Those who had regular coffee were satisfied with it's taste. However, the rest of us went to local Tim Hortons to satisfy our coffee and sweet tooth cravings after dinner. Prepare to be nickle and dimed. So they have 50% off wings every Thursday. However, they really cheap out because they remove the free celery sticks and the blue cheese dipping sauce. And they charge 50 cents per pound extra to get the wings breaded. I have never heard of a place that charges extra for breaded wings. We asked the waitress for a takeout box for our remaining 2 wings, and she said we would have to pay 50 cents for every wing we did not eat. So I replied: So if we leave them here we don't have to pay extra, I don't understand. Eventually, we did not have to pay extra to take the wings home, but they almost charged us one dollar for the Styrofoam box. OMG, I am surprised they did not charge $1 to use the toilet. I will not return until they stop trying to cheap out and be more honest and open with customers. Can someone tell me why customer service has died in Canada??? read more

Not a bad spot at all. Came in on a Friday evening and it was PACKED. The crowd was mostly in their 50s and it was a jovial atmosphere. Nearly every single person was eating, and we ended up getting the fish and chips, since it seemed quite popular. I got a small order and was barely able to finish it. It was quite good, but not mind-blowing. Pretty standard for a pub. Service was friendly and came around pretty often, considering how busy it was. The atmosphere was of a really popular neighbourhood bar for adults, not kids (I'm looking at you... people my age!) Cool spot, I'd visit again if I were in the area. read more

I was craving for nachoes and a burger.. so my friend and I ordered a single size nachoes with chilli to share and I got the Ringo burger with fries. It was one of the best meals I have had. Their chilli comes in a bowl so the chips do not get soggy. Their hand cut fries were crispy.. it was a great meal! It's definitely a hidden gem in Mississauga. After working right next to abbeys for the summer and trying out a variety of things I the menu abbeys has gone down a star in my book. The food is pretty decent but some things aren't worth the price. I was disappointed that the shepherds pie didn't taste as good as the first time I ordered it. It was a bit salty. The first time I ordered it I honestly fell in love telling everyone at my office to try it. I also didn't like the fact that they advertise half price appetizers (meaning they are 50 percent off) when in actually they are half portion appetizers. If I knew I would be paying 5 dollars for 5 periogies I wouldn't bother. I'd rather pay ten for ten. I tried the burger and it was a but overcooked and dry I had to ask for ketchup as it didn't come on the burger. And finally there is a waitress there that is middle aged with mid length her that always makes me feel like a burden when picking up food. No pleasantries nada. The rest are extremely friendly but she isn't. I also noticed a lot of fruit flies around their bar I don't know why but they need to fix that. I know fruit flies come if you don't clean your tap well enough. read more

Just had dinner here. In town on business, and I thought it was a great atmosphere. Jimmy Hendrix was on the radio, the fish & chips were better than expected and the Smithwicks was good & cold. Tried this place out on the way back from Niagara when the family had a craving for Nachos. My wife had done a quick search online and they were featured as one of the top 5 places in Mississauga for Nachos. We ordered Nachos with chicken and a side of onion rings. The Nachos were a huge disappointment. They were covered with so much lettuce you could barely see the chips. The amount of cheese was really frugal and I'm not sure why there were big chunks of onion. Below average in terms of Nachos. The onion rings were good and the portion size was large. Nothing here that would make me go back again or recommend it. Service was ok however my 8 year old had a problem with her water. She said it tasted bad and my niece confirmed it. The rest of the waters we had and other drinks were ok. Not sure why water would taste bad unless there was something up with the glass or ice. read more

He cut me off before I could even explain why I was calling and literally hung up on me. Imagine how rude they are to their customers who are dining ! Awful, just awful. This Pub and Patio is a pretty good place to have social lunches and dinners for groups! The food here is pretty good and the price of it is fair! Service though was not great. Probably the worst I've seen. The lady there just had the worst attitude and overall had bad manners. Went there with a group and we all paid individually. She comes up to our table and just yells at us "I do not work for free" to say the least. I'm sure someone in our group either gave a small tip or no tip at all. No server should demand for tips especially if service was not up to par. I understand how servers work and how much they get paid because I was one. But, this was not the way to go. Its rude and embarrassing (to my group and others around us). Probably been at this place more than a dozen times (because of the food) but that last visit was our last. Its disappointing when you really enjoyed a local place for a bit, but with service like that it changes everything. Good luck. read more

This used to be a good place to go until they switched owners for 3 reasons. #1 prices went up a little while the portion sizes got smaller. #2 They are trying to change the pub look into a sports theme while keeping the original Abbey road Beatles theme. And the most important one #3 The very last time my wife and I went was a time to remember. We walked in and waited to be seated. (which never has happened every time we went) Then we decided to seat ourselves and waited and waited and waited some more. Mind you it was dead in there ( you could literally hear a pin drop) By then I say about at least 15 minutes we where not being served, never mind being noticed. Unless we were Alcoholics like the other Barflys in there, the staff didn't even care. We both got up and said in a firm voice THANKS FOR NOT SERVING US!!! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! I noticed ever since they started building new houses next door, things have been getting pretty stupid at Abbey Road. This place is in great need of a makeover. It is very dated and old. Just one look behind the bar and how messy it is gives you an indication of what this place is like. The owners tend to treat this bar as their living room and don't give 2 hoots about the patrons. I was with a friend there sitting at the bar and had a good view of the entertainment when the owners decided to add a table in front of us and sit there blocking our view. The food is awful.
