Trying to grasp every chance to sit at the patio before summer ends :) It's a lovely place. The chicken bites were so yum, they were sugar or honey glazed chicken with jalapeño and dipping sauce, tasted sweet and salty and spicy, should definitely try if you are looking for snacks. The drinks were good too. Nice ambience and service.

Gord and I had supper a couple weeks ago on the patio of Belfast Love. Gord ordered a crispy chicken sandwich.  He said it was good and might get it again. I ordered a burger (with no cheese).  It was a good burger and I'd get it again. Desiree was our server.  She was friendly and took good care of us.

"Pretty tasty. It is a 3.8 in my books!" What time we arrived/Wait time? I arrived for lunch on a thursday! Not busy at all. Atmosphere? It is a more grungy vibe. Very young and hip environment and I can see a lot of young people loving this place on the weekends! Service/Staff? The staff and service was good! Nothing to complain about too much. Seemed like multiple people were serving us because it wasn't busy. Food/Menu/Pricing? The food was good. I did feel though - that I felt a little gross afterward. It was a lot of fried food that we tried like the mozza sticks, fish and chips, funghi pizza, and burgers. There isn't a huge selection of unique foods but it is good for what it is. The cheese they use isn't good quality because it rubbers up over time. I had the pork tacos which weren't bad - small portions but yummy sauces! The food is quite expensive as well. around 15-20$ per dish. I would come back for tapas and drinks but not on the regular. This is a beer hub so I recommend trying those!

Oh Brunch, I can't say no to you. A friend was in Toronto from out of town, so we got 15 people and headed to Belfast Love. I mean, she was only in town for the weekend, I couldn't say no to brunch. Justifications aside, our table was ready as we trickled in. The coffee was hot, perfect for these chilly days. The Brioche French Toast was calling my name...not in a creepy serial killer kind of way, more of a seductive, sweet maple syrup kind of way. Several of my friends got the Chicken & Waffles. It was everything they thought it would be. The waffle was fluffy and the chicken was crispy. I was a little jealous. My French toast was perfectly browned yet fluffy and topped with a delightful blueberry lemon compote. It was definitely more blueberry than lemon, but there was enough for almost every bite. Yesssss... The service was pretty good. Even though the group was not overly punctual and people were coming and going, they still kept us happy and full. It was easy to flag a server down to order or get a bill; they were very prompt, but not kicking us out. This is definitely a hidden gem in the brunch world! They also have a fabulous beer and brunch drink menu. Go before the regular brunch crowd figures it out!

Came into this spot based upon my guests recommendation. I really would have never ended up here if it wasn't for them wanting to come. The bar itself is not well located with a clear sign indicating where it is. I walked in and didn't know if I should walk up or down the stairs. The stairs are very steep and narrow so please be careful if you've had a few. The hostess at the front entrance was very nice she greeted me with a warm hello and seated me - I had a reservation. As soon as we were seated it took us about 20 minutes before a waitress could even come to us. This got worse as she was extremely slow with our orders. After we ordered our first drink it took over 15 minutes to receive it. After we ordered our second round those took another 20 mins. The place itself was not busy so I'm not sure why this was happening. I should probably just put it out here that I personally would have never came to a place like this. The crowd is more of a hipster, rowdy type crowd in which I'm not. The uniforms on the waitresses too were odd as well. They were barely clothed wearing a T-shirt for a dress.. um okay. I have to comment too that there was a strange odour that I kept smelling. I couldn't figure out what it was but it smelled really bad. We had to constantly hail waitresses even though they were right in front of us. They often stood with their backs towards us looking out into the far distance. Very strange. We decided to order some food so I settled on the mozzarella sticks and fries. The food came out quickly but left much to be desired. The mozzarella sticks should be ooey and gooey when you bite into them and they were not. They needed one more minute in the deep fryer. I found them quite pricey too at $12. I mean under other circumstances yes but not for this place. The fries were delicious. Salted beautifully and fresh. I very much enjoyed them. Would I come back? Nope. I gave this place a two stars because the service was extremely bad. They were not even busy which in that case I would have been more fair. I also wasn't a fan of the crowd. This is a simple bar. If your a person looking for a quick bite or drink this could be the place for you.

Located on King W this is a good spot to meet up with friends (it's much larger than it looks like from the outside) and just chill over some food/drinks. Came here for lunch on a weekend and surprisingly it was pretty dead. Even with the half empty place the service was slllllllloooooooooowwwww. I ordered the ahi tuna bowl with kimchi and it was pretty good. It had that spiciness from the kimchi and the freshness from the tuna to balance it out quite nicely. It hit the spot as I had already eaten a heavy breakfast and was just looking for something light. The prices (for some of the lunch items) are a bit high for food, but then again you're on King W so I don't think it's too out of line for the area.

Ended up here as this was close to work, king street. Read good reviews. Wouldn't go again. There was one lady serving the whole area, she had too much on her hands. It took her sometime to return every time, due to the amount of tables she had to check on. Anyway, I asked her how the fish and chips were, and if she would recommend because I have eaten at places that really couldn't do any good and the server recommended and added "I think you would really like it" IT WAS BAD. I ended up not eating the four strips. I let the server know in a few mins of receiving our dinner that I didn't feel good about this and she didn't do anything- just apologized. Kinda random though, would have expected her to do something about it. Left the restaurant empty stomach.

I went here yesterday, 01/22/22, at 3:30. There wasn't anyone in the place. Nobody. The ahole host asked me if I had a reservation. "No", I said, "What difference does it make, the place is empty". "You can't get in without a reservation", he says. I asked; "When are the reservations for?". "4:00" says bunghole. "Well make me a reservation now" says I. "We don't take reservations the day of" he counters. Could it be any more pretentious. Happy to spend my money somewhere else. They could've put it towards their neon sign fund.

Went here on a double date with my cousin and her boyfriend on a Friday night. The bar was busy! We got probably one of the last tables inside and didn't have to wait. The service was good. They had good options for drinks- though cocktails were a little pricey. We each ordered a pizza and had some leftover to take home. The pizza was okay, but nothing special. I'm a pizza snob. I probably wouldn't order it again, but it wasn't terrible or anything, I'd just try something else. I'll add the patio is a really nice hangout spot in the summer if you can snag a seat!

This place will get a lot of business due to the location and size of this place. However not being a fan of pub food the saving grace for this spot would have been the beer selection but sadly it was not to my liking (I like Belgian style and there was only one on tap this visit). The setup though big has a lot of tripping hazards IMO (i.e. elevated area for some seating) Otherwise if you are here to watch a sport you will find a screen. The service is decent. The food however falters. The burger I tried was devoid of taste and the bun became soggy very quick. The fries were cold as well. The service is decent. I would say 2.5 stars.

They have TVs all around the restaurant so no matter where you're sitting, you can still see the game really well. They also have pool tables and dart lanes, which are cool activities to keep you busy. One thing that surprised me was the $15 cover charge to get in for game day. I wasn't really expecting that, because they had no heads up on the reservation which I found odd. But considering how busy it was and how in demand the tables were, I guess it makes sense. Just something to keep in mind if you're planning to go for a big game. The atmosphere was definitely the highlight. It was loud, energetic, and everyone was really into the game. The service was good too. Our server was friendly and conversational. She was such a sweetheart and even moved our table so we could see the screen better. We had to wait a little for the food, but that's honestly expected when the restaurant is completely full. We got their wings and nachos to eat. Wings were decent we got their buffalo and the honey garlic. Both solid, didn't stand out much but their ranch was actually very yummy. The nachos on the other hand, DELICIOUS! Probably some of the best i've had at a pub. Very impressed! Super cheesy and full of so many toppings and sides, i'd literally come back just for them. Overall, cute spot! I'll definitely be visiting again.

I was in town for the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), and as I explored the cuisine landscape, I finally tried Grace O'Malley's Irish Pub which was up the street from one of the screening venues. I was always down for a nice Irish pub, so I gravitated to this after an afternoon film. Opened over 20 years ago inside a historic building, this pub was named after Grace O'Malley, also known as "Granuaile", who was Ireland's famous 16th-century "Pirate Queen", defied gender roles to lead a seafaring clan, commanded a fleet of ships, levied taxes on shipping, engaged in political rebellion against English rule, and successfully negotiated face-to-face with Queen Elizabeth I. Would my presence be graced with a good time at this Irish pub!? PURCHASE(S) Gracie's House Lager Beer 16floz Draft ($6.00CAD HH x2): Bright amber color, malty aroma, light body, malty flavor, crisp finish, and bready malty aftertaste. A simple beer with not much nuance to it. Cauliflower Bites Appetizer ($16.00CAD): A decent portion size, these light golden vegetable puffs were rather lovely as you got burned by the scalding steam after the first bite. Definitely a nice bar snack while you babied a beer. SERVICE Only a handful of individuals were here when I arrived as I made my way to a stool at the bar where I was warmly greeted by a gorgeous young female bartender who handed me a menu. I honestly only wanted something small and quick, so I ordered a beer (THEY WERE OUT OF GUINNESS; HOW WAS THAT POSSIBLE!?) and an appetizer. The beer arrived immediately while the appetizer arrived about five minutes later. At that point, I just chilled, watched some TV, and planned the rest of my day. I decided to order another beer since it was on happy hour, and soon enough, I finished and headed out. There wasn't much interaction with any of the staff (I saw an older gentleman I assumed was the manager). Everything was easy-peasy with little communication, and I was fine with that - slainte! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance): I was constantly in the area all day throughout the entire 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, so I simply walked. Otherwise, there were spots along the many main and surrounding streets, some nearby structures, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A spacious floorplan with a mix of booths, tables, and bar stools to sit yourself down and enjoy the brick and wood facade that gave it a real nice old fashion pub feel. There was a stage for live performances, a nice-looking bar, and a small amount of Irish decorations. Plenty of natural lighting came in through the front doors and large windows while various electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were several TVs while rock music quietly played in the background. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Grace O'Malley's Irish Pub left me wanting more... especially a Guinness! Although I liked the appetizer, there wasn't much else after that. Sure, I probably didn't have enough to draw upon for a full assessment, but for an Irish pub to be out of Guinness was a glaring red flag in my opinion. And, maybe day-drinking wasn't a thing in Toronto, but it was their daily Happy Hour (3:00pm-6:00pm - $6.00 select drinks), and the place was virtually empty. I felt a sadness about this place as I drank my beers, ate my appetizer, and just kept to myself. The prices were comparable, the food was fine, and the service was what it was. Plus, I always preferred to support small mom & pop businesses. I found good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $32.00CAD BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 3.0 STARS

PURCHASE Elephant & Castle EC Blonde Golden Ale Beer 5.0% ABV 16floz Draft ($6.00CAD HH): Golden amber color, grainy malty aroma, low body, malty sweet watery flavor, clean smooth finish, and malty sweet aftertaste. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=96&select=XeWE9dQy_Q07ZIiZFL4FmA Traditional Poutine ($12.00CAD): This simple dish of crispy seasoned fries topped with creamy hot beef gravy, and multiple pieces of chewy squeaky cheese was on point. If the cheese wasn't squeaky, it wasn't true poutine in my opinion. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=96&select=3iBj9sJUk2NoqIBodScWEg Elephant & Castle EC Red Amber Red Ale Beer 5.0% ABV 16floz Draft ($6.00CAD HH): Light red color, earthy malty aroma, low body, grainy malty sweet flavor, clean smooth finish, and malty sweet aftertaste. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=96&select=e0kTBEOlLiorGYKtC6CqOA Carlsberg Group Carlsberg Pilsner Beer 20floz Draft ($10.25CAD): Bright amber color, malty sweet aroma, low body, light malty sweet watery flavor, clean smooth finish, and light malty sweet aftertaste. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=96&select=312oSdC-qUbOMJUMbNxrPA House Chardonnay White Wine 6floz Pour ($6.00CAD HH): Light golden yellow color, citrusy green apple tropical aroma, light body, buttery citrusy green apple flavor, crisp finish, buttery citrusy green apple aftertaste, and medium astringency. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=9dEFuv8evc9E336A-pWVRA Fish & Chips ($20.00CAD): A large piece of crispy succulent haddock fish on a bed of crispy seasoned spud sticks and a scoop of extra peppery coleslaw, I had a cheerio of a time eating this meal! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=9b93MPTus2QUK2B9en0rfg House Cabernet Sauvignon Red Wine 6floz Pour ($6.00CAD HH): Ruby red color, barrel berries jammy aroma, medium body, berries earthy jammy flavor, drying finish, berries earthy jammy sweet aftertaste, and medium astringency. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=7zKWRWw2dsW3RJqxYl3CrA SERVICE Each time, I was kindly greeted by a young hostess who pointed me towards both the front https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=96&select=QjNpJPi5tWE_ncAFdG6BiQ and back bar areas for open seating (I chose the front), which then I was greeted by one of the female bartenders who gave me menus and a glass of water. Once I ordered, my drinks arrived immediately while the food was no more than ten minutes. The place was busy, so it was all about getting the orders out as quickly as possible. I got what I needed, so all was good - cheers! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE An elongated layout with two large bars, a ton of chairs/tables, and sidewalk seating, it felt cramped yet roomy enough to move around. It had every bit a feeling of an British pub from decorations https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=96&select=NwkHpwrwvrwBIk6wXsodRA to accented touches. Very good natural lighting came through the front door and many windows while electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were many TVs throughout while music quietly played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=e8XcV8l3CKkOhO1Y2D13_g ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I had a great time at Elephant & Castle Pub & Restaurant, and I would definitely return especially for their happy hour! The food, prices, service, and atmosphere all hit the right feels for me. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $73.50CAD BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS
