This is my second time ordering from this cart. I ordered the Kathi roll and mango lassi and both were very good.

The Chicken Tikka Masala was phenomenal, the garlic naan was rich and flavorful, and the samosas were delightful.

The potato pakora is just straight up fried dough. I thought the first time it was a mistake with my vegetable pakora that they messed up the cook, but these are just as bad. Neither time I ordered pakora was it ACTUALLY pakora. It doesn't even resemble anything I've EVER had anywhere else in 20 years. When I say this is bad, this is baaaaad. The vegetable samosas are MUSH with undercooked dough. Never have I ever had vegetable samosas that are basically fried mashed potatoes. This is SO disgusting I can't eat it. It's so hard to screw up samosas and yet they somehow managed to do so. No whole peas. Nothing even resembling a piece of potato. Just...MUSH. The rice was massively overcooked, dry, and crunchy. I'm so embarrassed for them. You all should be ashamed to sell this mess.

The smoked saag paneer sandwich was good, the side of creamy saag delicious. The limeade with maple sounded better than it tasted, but still refreshing in the hot weather. This is not an unbiased review -- I've known Deepak (the owner) since he was a Linux geek instead of a chef -- but really, the food is awesome. What the cart serves is Indian/American fusion food. Like pulled pork with chutney and tamarind BBQ sauce. Many of the sandwiches sound weird, but they're all really good. Trust Deepak's palate, he knows flavors. Most of the menu is sandwiches, with a few other things like their terrific papadums and "frito chaat". Do note that the green chutney is very, very spicy. Chaat Wallah is on the property of a former garage, with Upright Brewing pouring from 8 taps inside the garage. There's a ton of outdoor seating (most of the seating, really), so you order some food, get a brew, and find a picnic table. Folks from all over the neighborhood, plus their kids and dogs, will join you.

Reviewing the menu, there were lots of yummy things to choose from but ultimately we both could not resist the Lamb shank. I'm sad I didn't take a picture of it. It was so tender and delicious. It came with perfect Basmati rice and a side of eggplant stew that was exquisite! I've never had eggplant stew and it was luscious. I dream to about it all night long. It was quiet, comfortable, music was great; songs we all know but with native instruments and flare. We had house red wine - not a big selection of alcohol, which is fine the food is and should be the star. Our sever (Sorry my old lady brain forgot his name) but the good looking bald guy(LOL) was nice and personable. It was such a great low key dining experience that just made the day even better. I highly recommend this cute place and we will be back- there are a lot more wonderful food to try!

My first impression as we entered here was: the AC was on, and I'm not ready for AC (yet), and the inside was too elegant, and empty. We waited awhile, when a staff appeared. We picked a seat outside, where the weather was pleasant and shady. I needed badly, to use the restroom, so I went back inside, only to be told it's outside. The mural on the walls, obscured the door to the restroom. But, there was no TP, no paper towel, and the trash was full. I had to use a toilet cover paper, for my TP, and went back to my seat, not happy with what I just did! I told my husband, who then told the staff, because HE need to use the restroom, too. (We've been gone all morning, this is now lunch hour). The staff gave water, menu and we ordered: The Lamb Shank. I love the eggplant stew! There's also a small salad with the Basmati rice. Also Chicken Kabob Mezza Platter with Pita bread. It was not until we're done eating, and ready to get up, did I notice there was cubed cucumber in the thaziki. But, it's got a very strong vinegar flavor, but I did like the hummus and the ghanoush. (When we eat at these places, we always pick the lamb shanks, btw). I had the other half, for my dinner tonight. The server was friendly, helpful and responsive. The atmosphere, was pleasant, and the photo taken of me, hubby thought I could pass as an Iraqi woman! LOL Thanks for the bag. We picked some crabapples, from down the street, there were 4-5 large trees ready for the pickin' from the sidewalk.

I had walked by this spot a few times but had not run in for a bite until my friend said he loved getting momo here! And of course, we couldn't pass up on getting some chai either. He had dropped by a few times and had chatted with the owners as well so I let him order to his hearts content and just stayed around for the culinary ride. We got the dhal bhat, lentil soup, and veggie momo to share and he grabbed some chicken momo to go. All of the food tasty wholesome, hearty, and made with care. Definitely worth the price and effort. The chai was also boiling hot and perfectly sweet without being too much. Fyi they also have soy and oat chai if you prefer to have something non-dairy! All in all this is a cute spot, may be a biiit less ideal on rainy or really cold days, but hey the chai can help you warm up! Parking in the area is street parking and can be difficult during peak hours, but otherwise not too bad. Prices are fair for the quality so get out there and support a local business!
