There are crafters, vendors, food, and definitely plenty of drinks. The cornerstone of this event in my opinion is the costume contest. People go all out for this and it's really a sight to see! Every year it seems to attract more and more visitors. For this reason, I hope they get better at accommodating more visitors as it took an inordinate amount of time this year to get a drink. But it is still a blast and shouldn't be missed by the Halloween enthusiasts in the greater Philadelphia area!

If you're on a date, you'll probably want to make a reservation at the spooky Robin's Nest Restaurant at the opening of the outdoor festival, before meandering through the creepy, dark streets brimming with interesting characters. If you're on a friend date, you may want to avoid the intimate restaurant and head straight to the beer garden, the creepy teddy bear shop, or the ghost hunter store. Or, of course, the VooDoo Bar. Like the others have said, do NOT bring your kids here. You're ruining it for everyone when you do that crap. Two downfalls (aside from the kid infestation) of the event: -Lack of bathrooms -Lack of food vendors I stood in a line for some beautiful porta potties for what felt like a really-really long time. The guy behind me in line kept drunkenly yelling at the people in the stalls... as if they really wanted to take their time and enjoy themselves in there or something. After finally relieving myself, I then spent an absurd amount of time waiting for some chicken tenders. Get some more food vendors and bathroom options, Witches Ball, and you're golden. See you next year!

I don't have much to compare it to, but all I know is we had a blast! It was raining steadily all day, which did absolutely nothing to dampen the spirits of everyone there. Tons of hardy people were still wandering the grounds, many in incredible and elaborate costumes. Everyone was in such a great mood, it was hard not to be swept up in all of it. The fair was enormous, with something to see and do around every corner. Seven stages with official shows, plenty of games, live animals, a blacksmith demonstration, tons of food, etc. My son particularly loved getting to throw spears and daggers, as well as a free whip lesson. We happily wandered the grounds for several hours and easily forgot about the miserable cold and wet weather. Can't wait for next year!

Apparently they have different acts every weekend and some weekends have celebrity performers. If I knew about this ahead of time I would've gone 2nd weekend and the ticket price would've been worth it - feel free to dress up as extra as you want, honestly seeing all the costumes was my favorite part of the whole experience - food is overpriced as per usual - most of the acts were disappointing but that made have been partially due to the rain - it's mostly a fair for vendors to sell costumes and whatnot

This allowed you to sample free wine from all the wine merchants. Plus you were given (1) free beer ticket. Purchasing was painless and the entire process was well-organized! - Good signage throughout the festival. - Beer Garden: St. Benjamins, Lunacy, Tuckahoe, Spellbound, Victory & Tonewood, $5.00 a beer. - Wine tastings: Amalthea, Sharrott, Dimatteo, Southwind and Summit City wineries. - Food trucks: Oink-n-Moo BBQ, Charlie's Crepes, Not your Mama's Tacos etc. - Music: live bands throughout different sections of the festival. They had a few tables/chairs set-up to allow you to sit down while eating. Otherwise, you had to cop-a-squat on the street curbs. Some people were lucky and commandeered Gazebo seating. Perhaps they could set-up more seating next time? We had a great time and I am looking forward to next years event. Hoping to see more beer and food-truck offerings.

Every weekend, Sat. and Sun., and now some sneak attacks during the week--we are subjected to 10 hrs a day of loud music in excess of the local noise ordinance by 100% and attendees taking all the parking spots! Forget trying to sell our homes, as who would want to live here?! This is not the appropriate location for this kind of thing! And since it is operated by the township, they break their own laws and make no apologies or concessions to the residents. It's a "good ol' boys" frat house without the walls. It's a stupid, irresponsible waste of taxpayers' money at our OWN expense. They need to cut the music and charge for parking. I have no idea how they call it a "success" when they rent the tents, equipment, stage, use township employees to maintain it and don't charge a cover charge or a parking fee. The only income to the township is some stipend from the $6 beers. This can't go away soon enough.

Beer lines and bathroom lines can get a bit long but it's a popular venue. Mixed age crowd, some bands better than others. Music isn't spectacular /loud but doesn't ruin the night. Events end at 10 so get there early. Home values are great in the area thanks to all Haddon Twp has to offer. We travel back for Haddon Square events. Many people we meet have heard of Haddon Square and talk about the events. Worth a stop.

I'll start by saying that the unofficial after party for The Mummers (the…read morePhiladelphia troops dressed in elaborate costumes, performing themed routines and some even instruments) on New Years Day which takes place here is NOT for everyone! It's not quite as family friendly or as "classy", shall we say, as the actual parade. The festivities on Two Street reminds me of Beale Street in Memphis, Bourbon in Nola and Broadway in Nashville. With that being said, I personally had a blast in all of those places and if you've been and enjoyed them, you'll enjoy this. Also, I felt comfortable bringing my kiddos to all of those places, and here as well. Since they were just babies in fact. In recent years they police started patrolling the area and barricades are now put in place keeping people out of the trucks way. Back in my day it was a free for all. Now they even have porto-potties and food vendors! There's lots drinking out on the streets, really loud music, lights and some trash you'll have to step over, but everyone is here to just have a good time and Paaaaartay! We have never run into any issues here. Most younger people in the city, especially in South Philly know the real party isn't New Year's Eve, but rather New Year's Day starting bright and early with the parade, and the party keeps rocking onto Two Street where the brigades head back to their respective lodges all found here in Pennsport. This is also where the actual Mummer's Museum is located too. While the crowd is youthful, I don't feel like I'm crashing a frat party at all. The fun starts around 7:30ish and goes all night!!! Many Mummers stay awake for 24 hours and somehow, I used to also. I totally took for-granted being able to just walk home when I lived down the street way back in the day. Definitely should have had more New Years parties then. The neighbors all do and some will even welcome you into their garage and to have a go at their keg. I highly suggest taking a cab or Uber if you'll be drinking. Have them drop you on 2nd & Washington or if you need a specific destination, the museum. If you're not really drinking and will be driving, there's plenty of unmetered parking right under 95! Bring layers, big smiles, your favorite adult beverages and get ready for a crazy, fun time!!! If you're from out of town thinking of a fun place to head for New Years, Philly does it so right!! Hitting up the fireworks the night before, the parade and Two Street the next day makes for an awesome time! It's our favorite way, and really the only way to ring in the New Year in Philly, if you ask us!! It's a must!!

I only happen to find out, because I had tickets to an event in the State Museum Auditorium. The museum is free and on weekends parking is easy in the free adjacent lot. There is also a Planetarium, which has a $10 admission. The museum is housed on three floors with exhibits illustrating some of New Jersey's history. There is a section with artwork, some Native American history, a natural history area with dinosaurs, history of Trenton, and much more.
