The St. Charles carnival returns for one week, usually around the middle of June, each year. With…read morehourly 50/50s, one last mega 50/50, and plenty of games, there are a lot of ways to win and have fun while supporting your local church. The beer garden, which cards at the entrance, also has cold beer for $4 or $5 including Miller Lite, Yuengling, and an IPA. The rides are always fun, with large and small Ferris wheels, the Pharoh's fury (swinging ship), the Gravitron, swings, a giant slide, the Merry-Go-Round, etc. In recent years, they've replaced all of the upside down rides that used to be there, such as the Zipper and Spin Out (much to my disappointment). Lines are much better on weekdays, and tickets are half price if you buy them during the pre-sale. There's plenty of food to eat, such as panzarottis (giant pizza rolls), burgers, dogs, fries, pizza, etc. There's an Italian night and a Polish night too, where foods from these countries are featured. There's so much to do, and if nothing else, it's always fun to people watch here too!

This is an absolutely outstanding farmers' market with many options...but not TOO many options…read more Conveniently located in the heart of Collingswood, you can drive the easy 20 minutes over to the market OR take PATCO from the city. SO much to love about this market: some Philly favorites like Kismet Bagels and Milk Jawn ice cream, and then a number of local farmers selling everything from peas to kale to strawberries to chicken - depending on the season. You'll also find Revolution Coffee right at the entrance selling cold brew for $4. Happiness to me is wandering a market with a full cold brew, so mission accomplished here. I grabbed sic apple cider donuts, blueberries, chicken thighs, mushrooms (would stop by her booth EVERY time - delicious mushroom combos that made my risotto that night totally out of this world), and left only like $30 poorer. This is the best way to buy produce, and everything truly was delicious. I am still working through the blueberries and feel totally ruined since these are by far the best I've ever had. Big shoutout to all of the farmers bringing this to life and the many Collingswood families using this service to it's fullest extent. I cannot wait for my next trip!

It's set at a farm, not under train tracks where the train comes every thirty minutes over your head whistling your nervous system off kilter while your fighting to talk to a basket maker over the loud barreling of 78 to 234 short tons over your head. It's a dirt filled underpass with nothing beautiful to look at except some nice vendors with baked goods and organic produce and planting herbs and flowers. Not allot of selection compared to Burlington County Farmers Market and al lot of the vendors that are there are also at the one I just mentioned, plus you get the music from the live musicians that you can actually sit down and listen to while you look over at a sheep grazing in a field next to the working farm to your right. Was not impressed at all... They should move this whole operation to the park which is very close by and would totally change the ambiance which would be more fitting to the subject matter.

The pork sandwich is delicious and has provolone and broccoli rabe. The meatball sandwiches have 4 big homemade meatballs. The sausage and pepper is very good. All food is $15 or less. The fried dough is a must! It is a piece of pizza dough filled into a long roll, deep fried and covered in powdered sugar. It's similar to funnel cake but better!

Cancel out all the beers you're going to drink with an (untimed) 5K run (literally) by the Fishtown Beer Runners starting at 12. $25 gets you a free tshirt, plastic cup, tote bag, free water, and most importantly, 2 drink tickets (Thanks for the registration Yelp!)! This year's course had a mural challenge where you could win a pint glass for posting 5 pictures. The course is (lightly) marked, and with the help of directing volunteers at each turn, only a few people got lost! The course runs through regular streets and is not blocked off so watch out for cars, pedestrians, dog poop, etc. 2. Super kid friendly - there's hula hoops, a bouncy castle, live music, face painters, crafts, and other games! 3. Drinks - lots of local beer options, which is great. No cocktails or wine, but there was a cider! tall tables for you to enjoy your beverages. 4. Food - not a ton of options (3-4 trucks- Biscuit's Biscuits, Kung Fu Hoagie, Cow and the Curd and a few others), but a nice seating area with picnic tables. 5. Vendors - not too crowded, so lots of space to walk around and enter contests! With less people you have higher chances of winning! I won a gift card basket with gift cards from uber, netflix, and wine and spirits! They also had some cool Fishtown shirts, and the usual cool jewelry, local realtors, etc. 6. Great views of the river and the Ben Franklin Bridge!

What a cute little festival in a nice open space! I won a bib for the 5K through a Yelp contest…read more(thanks Yelp!) and made my way down to the 2015 festival. The 5K was a fun run and super laid back. It was a nice way to tour Fishtown, a neighborhood I usually don't frequent. After the run, I was able to claim my run swag bag and tickets into the beer tent. The beer tent wasn't huge but it had a solid representation of 2nd Story Brewing, Evil Genius, Do Good (a new brewery local to Port Richmond), Fat Tire, St Benjamin, Philadelphia Brewing Company, Neshaminy Creek and Kurant Cider. It was a bit of a bummer you had to keep the beer within the beer tent and couldn't walk the grounds though. Outside of the beer tent, there were about 5-6 food trucks which included Scratch Biscuits, Mom-Mom's, Philly Fry and a few others. I think my favorite part of the entire event was their pet tent area. They had several local shelters set up shop to promote their rescue organizations. They even brought some adoptable dogs and cats to the event. I thought I knew I was pretty well versed in Philly's local rescue organizations, but I learned about a few new ones like City of Elderly Love and Citizens for a No-Kill Philadelphia. In addition to all of the rescue pups, a lot of festival-goers brought their own dogs. It was adorable city! There were also a few rows of some great craft vendors and services. And did I mention the live music? A stage was set up with acts brought in through WXPN near the beer tent. All of this happened in the huge Penn Treaty Park. I'm definitely adding the Rivercity Festival to my list of festivals to attend again in the future.

Alot of options for games. Also had 2 rides in package including racing sim in a car (no pic unfortunately). Also played multiplayer VR Zombies and Tower Tag. Highly recommend experiencing either but only with a friend. Went downstairs and paid ~$10 on a Thurs special for 1 hour of PC gaming with my friend with many options avail. Place is clean, staff is friendly and explained everything to us and made sure we were comfortable. Big props to Jacob and Travis for making our visit great. Will be back!

As a vendor it chaos and a 14 hour day. All loading takes place for all 300 plus vendor through…read moreonly 3 streets. One genius decided to block one of the 3 streets because he had a corner spot at top of that load in street and the coordinators let this happen. There were no volunteers and no zones marked in the street to let you know what section you were driving through to find your spot. Got cops called on us from blocking some Karen's driveway that rents an apt above a business during the designated loading and set up times outlined in the vendor rules even through the street is closed to traffic and vehicle was not blocking their driveway. All vendors I talked to didn't make their table fee back. Everyone I talked to said they won't be back.

Even better, they move the weekly farmer's market closer to the festival route to combine gatherings. I've attended this festival three of the last four years (missed last year). It's always a good time, and it's nice to browse the vendors and walk into the usual haunts too. This past Saturday was a scorcher. Even with arriving early on in the festival, it was packed with people, dogs and heat. Despite the temperature, families were out enjoying the shopping and food options, as well as the live music. I love this festival, though I have to admit I only lasted an hour outside this year! In dry *spring* weather, this is a great festival to visit. Lots of parking is available on side streets also. You may just have to walk a few minutes.
