    1/24 slot drag strip
    Ray T.

Stopped by after a soccer tournament in Langhorne, and introduced myself and my 12 year old son to slot car racing. 12 dollars rented a car and controller for 30 minutes per person...and yes, it went past quickly. Raced with two other dads and their three boys on the large 6-lane banked track, and action was plentiful! Also tried the JerseyDevil flat track, which was quite challenging. Couldn't get to see the drag track in action, but it looks equally fun. A store area stocks all parts for 1/24 racing, pinewood Derby supplies, and modeling kits and paints. Not much for the ho-scale slots, however. Talked with one of the owners on the way out, who was very nice. Apparently, this is one of the best facilities in the east, with people coming in to events from around the world. Pretty cool! Slot cars will take you back to your childhood, and with fun available on this scale, speed zone may bring you back frequently! Not a bad place to spend time, especially with your kids!

The kids had a blast at the Speedzone NJ!

While I no longer have the cars or equipment that I collected as a kid, just go in and rent a car, controller and some track time and you're off.

I heard racetrack and thought to myself oh gosh is this going to be boring? All we do is watch cars go around and around in circles for hours...? I was wrong, yes we did see cars go around in circles, but the atmosphere was fun and not to mention its BYOB! Tickets were $16.00/adults, a little less for 60+ and children. My husband and I did not eat, but everyone else did. They were raving about the fried oreos. We were really fortunate to come on the night they had the demolition derby. I had never seen one live, it was pretty exciting. Just wish the ring was a little bigger for the cars. The commentators were entertaining as well.

While it is like driving an oversized Go-Cart, there are no speed governor's and you are in control. These TQ Midget Cars can go up to 120 mph. However, for us average drivers, you can get up to speeds of 60-70 mph. You get 5 laps around the 1/3 mile track, with laps averaging 15-30 seconds. For $30 more, you can get 5 more laps. The whole experience lasts 1-2 hours from check in to completion. They provide you with Cotton Socks, a Fire Resistant suit and shoes and Helmet. All you need is your License and CASH if you plan on purchasing a Photo, GoPro video, or additional laps. Otherwise, leave everything else in the car because there are no lock boxes available. No experience is needed. They give you a personal presentation about driving the vehicle and then bring you to the vehicle to learn everything you need to know about it. After this, you are ready to go! Everyone goes separately, however, you will follow an experienced driver in a "pace" car, but this will not limit the experience. Without a Groupon, I do not know if I would pay full price to do this experience. They do offer a Two for One special as well for $220 that includes 10 laps instead of 5, so that may be worth it. It is also worth noting that they only run this Experience during the summer time at 9am and 1030am.

I personally hate that shit, if I am being a fool I would like the opportunity to hit the wall and learn for my self. Another mention that I have to detail is legit the bathroom was one of the worst kept bathrooms I have ever seen. It looks like a bathroom out of your high school but never attended to. The arcade looks fairly decent however my nephews that attempted to have some fun at the arcade said most of the games were out of order. Although I personally enjoyed myself as this was a new experience racing a go-kart I have to advise you should go to a different spot for this activity. We initially wanted to go to Arnold's Fun Center in Oaks, PA to race but they recently changed the hours and that is why we ended up at this location. Also, be careful if you pay in cash as I received the wrong change and they had to get the manager involved in how to break a $100 dollar bill. If you do choose to pay credit card they will charge you an added fee btw. As always people SYOY!!!

If not, other people will be apart of your race. The food options are CRAPPY. Definitely eat before you go. They have a couple of "arcade" games for kids but they are definitely out of date. The rock climbing wall was closed when I went. Not sure if it's a seasonal thing or not. There is a one membership fee when you sign up. Not really beneficial if you don't plan on going multiple times a year. Overall, this place needs some updates if it wants to keep people coming. There are more fun places to go.
