Absolutely LOVE Fire and Ice! The location is awesome. The shop is HUGE and is full of Pokemon cards, Magic cards, retro games, and other TCG products. I come here often to shop for Pokemon cards. They constantly have new cards and I feel they have the best prices on singles because they are constantly getting trades in and have the most accurate market prices. This location also has events and card shows often. I can't express how much I love Fire and Ice.

I absolutely have loved coming to fire and ice for the last 2 years. My bf and I love being apart of the community they have there and all the fun events they have going on all the time. We do our best to come to them every month event wise or stopping by every week or two for cards or more retro games. We love it here. Everyone is so nice all the time so very helpful. Dakota, Alma, Ryan, and everyone is always making sure we have what we need or even hold it Untill I get paid next. I have the best times there. We recently got a GameCube and are going to be getting more classics here! Definitely check them out they will make u have the best experience or help u with any questions or games ur looking for. They have a wide variety of cards and games all around. They're always adding new things to their collection or getting the new latest thing. Here's a collection of events we been too and cards we got that we have loved. They also have the best plushies there most of em come from Japan and are so detailed and soft. If I had more money I'd be here everyday. We're looking foreword to celebrating when the Folsom location opens as well! We been going to both here and Citrus Heights and love both locations. Thank u Ryan and everyone for making us feel so welcome.

Fire and Ice is a good retro game store. They have everything from old consoles to games. Cool decor and interior. A lot of different games for everyone. The middle part of the store had a lot of tables/chairs for people playing games. The prices seemed kind of high but the quality is there. Good service from staff member that helped with getting a game. Huge parking lot

Whenever my wife and I travel, be it for business or pleasure, we try to find a card shop or two to visit and grab some singles. In June we were up in the Sacramento area. After scouring the reviews of the wonder people of Yelp, we elected to visit Fire and Ice. We were not disappointed. This is one of the largest and cleanest game shops I have been in. The people were pleasant and knowledgeable. I ended up purchasing a booster box of Pokemon Cards and opening them right there in the shop. Just walking around their shop, there are so many cool things, retro games, TCGs, wall decorations, Amiibos, just so much GAMING stuff! If I am ever in the area again, it will be hard to check out a new shop, because I will definitely ensure that I make time to visit this one again.

Best retro video game store we've seen, my 5 year old is *addicted* to this store!! Ryan and staff are super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, we're still in awe over the selection and they are priced well. They randomly gifted him a plush Captain America his first time in, totally made his day. Little did they know his grandmother was in the hospital and he was having a hard time with it. Thank you guys!

Awesome job sending out a large collection for grading!

I love this store. They do such a great job with events, building community, and setting the tone for what best-in-class collectibles can look like. I've been a customer for the last few years and can't wait for their second location! I drive from across town to give them business. Just picked up my Elsa today! Specifically I really like working with the owner, Lee their COO, and Jesse. I can't wait to see the rest of the cards from this grading batch! Keep up the awesome service!

I had a very uncomfortable and disappointing experience at this store today…read more I saw two Xbox games priced the same -- one with a clean case but no disc inside, and another with a disc but a damaged case. Since there was no sign indicating that discs are kept behind the counter, l reasonably assumed the disc was missing and placed it into the better case. Instead of calmly explaining their policy, the employee immediately responded in an aggressive and disrespectful way, telling me to "put that shit back." Only afterward did he explain that the discs are kept at the counter - something that should have been clearly communicated to customers in the first place. A simple explanation would have avoided the entire situation. Being spoken to like that was unnecessary, unprofessional, and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. What made this even more upsetting was reading another customer's review describing how staff openly discussed taking advantage of a child who unknowingly brought in a rare Galaxy 3DS XL and traded it for a regular 3DS -- which is far less valuable. Instead of informing the child of what he had, they reportedly took advantage of the situation and even bragged about it afterward.Seeing behavior like that toward a kid is honestly disturbing and unethical. After experiencing the rude treatment myself, it's hard to believe this was an isolated incident. On top of all of this, many of the games and consoles here are significantly overpriced compared to other stores. This is especially concerning for beginners or casual gamers who may not yet know typical market values. Between the aggressive customer service, lack of clear communication, unethical behavior, and high prices, this is not a store I would return to or recommend. (l've attached a screenshot of that review for reference.)

If you were selling anything here they are meticulous however they do pay more than other places. This place is a gamer's paradise plus holy Grail for the hard to find game(s) *see picture of a PS2 game in my review. I definitely would recommend all gamers or just anybody shopping or selling to try this place first before going anywhere else especially places like GameStop.

I grew up in the golden era of gaming, the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s when weekends meant blowing into dusty cartridges, late-night multiplayer battles, and flipping through Game Informer magazines dreaming about the next big release. Those games weren't just entertainment, they were core memories of my childhood. Now, seeing my son discover and fall in love with those same games and magazines has been something really special. Ever since we moved to Sacramento a few years ago, every visit to 1-Up has felt like stepping into a real-life time machine. The moment you walk in, you're surrounded by nostalgia, memories, and pure joy. Whether it's seeing shelves packed with retro classics or spotting consoles you haven't touched in 20+ years, it instantly takes you back. The owner and staff are all incredibly cool, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about gaming history. I'm always blown away by the little-known facts and stories they know about these old-school titles. You can tell this isn't just a business to them, it's something they truly love. Special shoutout to Travis for the amazing customer service and for hooking my son up with a PS2 Slim in fantastic working condition. Seriously, where else can you walk in today and find a retro console like that, fully functional, along with a huge selection of games ready to relive those memories? I would love nothing more than to see businesses like 1-Up continue to succeed and thrive in the face of online competition. Places like this keep the memories, community, and fun alive for old gamers and new generations alike. Sacramento is lucky to have them. Game over? Not here at 1-Up, the memories just keep hitting "Continue."

They carry video games from a plethora of consoles. They also have collectibles, box/collector sets, videos, etc. Long story short, I left with a pile of goodies. I thought the store was spacious to walk around with other people around. The displays were great. I liked how they converted an old grocery store veggie stand into a display on the right side. The only bummer is the tape and stickers used on the merchandise. I bought some mint in box items and the sticker price tag was so hard to peel off. It left a very bad sticky residue. I was able to clean it off most of the items. But, I worried that the paper boxes would be damaged if I used a solution. The staff was super friendly and answered all of our questions. I enjoyed the little lounge area in the front right while waiting for friends to checkout.

Everyplace I walked, there was a blend of past and present. PlayStation 4 & 5 games, alongside rows of nostalgia that ranged in clothes, toys, accessories, movies, you name it. I found a dvd I've been looking for months, in just a matter of minutes. The movies are all alphabetized, yo! It's like a thrift store, but so much more. If you were a child of the 80s that lived through the 90s, you will probably appreciate this place . My dvd was only $1.99!

I also discovered a beautiful Elvis Funko, but that one I decided to hold off on for now. My husband bought a Mewtwo Funko as well (not shown). Most of the Funkos were in really good condition. There was a Stranger Things Funko that I really wanted but alas the previous owner had damaged the box. From a collector's standpoint, the prices are fair. Of course this location had other collectibles and items for sale, such as clothes, records, and whatnot. I've got plenty of records at home and only want to purchase very specific records these days, so I didn't really bother to look in their record aisles. The staff were friendly and chill. I will definitely return to check for more Funko Pops in the near future!

Sometime in my 30s though that all changed. As I got older,I came to appreciate the high quality of the medium,in regards to being able to have such complex stories work with such high quality artwork. So I started collecting comics and became a frequent customer to A-1 Comics in Roseville located on Sunrise Avenue. The top two things I love about this location are as follows. -Their employees really give excellent customer service. They are very helpful in assisting the customers in finding whatever they are looking for. A-1 has two other locations in the Sacramento area and multiple times I've been in Roseville and they were sold out of what I was looking for and they took it upon themselves to call their other locations to check if they had what I wanted-that's excellent customer service. -Second thing that truly stands out for me about A-1 is they aren't cheap on inventory-every week when new releases come out, they always have plenty of copies so that as many customers as possible have a good opportunity to get the issues they want-not all comic shops do this-others keep such limited inventory that they sell out too fast-A-1 rarely lets that happen. This Roseville location pretty much has its own parking lot,so there's always has plenty of parking available for its customers. In closing, I really do recommend this shop for all your comic needs-it's a pretty awesome place filled with pretty awesome employees and I always look forward to heading back out there.
