The positive energy they created for the store you can feel it. I can't wait to see them flourish. The store is so exciting you never know what treasure you will find and they constantly get new inventory so it's like a brand new experience each time. I can walk around for hours it is definitely a walk through mine and my husband's childhood. As long as I've supported this business I've not felt it reciprocated, and I'm not one to hold grudges, but this place just doesn't sit well with me. Frankly, it has lived in my head rent free and it's time I booted it with some explanatory closure. Here I speak my mind: The owner is smug, overbearing when his staff are valuating a customer, and, curtly, predatory in terms of both their buying and selling rates. I've seen collections here go for below 1/5 (if even) of their whole value other local Sacramento valuations "ostensibly" (emphasis there) placed on them well into the thousands. People's hard earned and life-long collections just going for chump change because "it will take time to move" or whatever other cheap excuse I've gathered from folks--meanwhile, the owner boasts of needing inventory for his third store, and how he drops 100,000's of thousands of dollars/millions, cumulatively, on 3AM expeditions to the middle of nowhere for lucrative private collections. This is a contradiction in terms and makes prior sales harbor resentment. While the selection and ambiance is noteworthy, it all gets tainted with contempt for reasons like this. Not to mention the markups on items that the very patrons keeping your business thriving are the ones fronting the bill for these markups. The owner is obviously not strapped for cash given what they boast online, yet they offer upsetting trade values and markups on inventory. The bread and butter of the business, of course. This store is absolutely incredible! I was blown away from the second I walked in. A truly amazing selection of retro to modern games at fair prices! The quality of the games and systems is second to none and the same is said for the staff! Every single worker I have had the privilege to speak to has been a delight, you can tell they are so passionate about what they do and the environment they are in they just want to share that experience with you, I have never felt pushed or sold on any item! When I have decided to make a purchase for some Harry Potter games the employee that was assisting me celebrated for me! He was stoked about it and it made me feel so special. I absolutely love this place, I've been going here for over a year maybe close to two and I have yet to come across another store that compares! I know Ryan personally and this guy is the best at this kinda business, he's all for the community wholeheartedly for the people in my opinion. This guy has product you can't find anywhere else and the staff Jesse, Dare, Liam and Dakota are my all time favorites! Always there to help and to have conversations which is awesome considering most people and other company's don't care about the customer other than the green they bring but here it's all smiles laughs wins and good times! I only leave reviews if a place is really bad or really good. Well let me inform you that fire and ice is really good. Customer service is amazing. We brought several things to trade in. We were the only ones there. Their appraisal software went down about half way through and had to reboot everything. Normally people would get upset but they kept on updating us with timing and at one point offered to provide our family water if needed. Tremendous service, very apologetic. We didn't even realize how much time had lapsed because the store is so amazing. For older parents there is a true nostalgic feeling when going through the doors. If you have younger kids they will be in heaven and want one of everything. As far as the staff is concerned, great, great people. My son who is ten, had interest in a gaming tournament, the owner took his time explain how they work and answered all his questions. It's not often you come across places like this. Far better than any game stop store and it is locally owned, true brick and mortar. Also very family appropriate. Skip all the lame big box stores and buy local! read more

The staff seemed uninterested and unapproachable. I asked a simple question about a console on display and got a curt response, like I was bothering them. Was in the store yesterday with a friend who was looking for a very special older PS2 game that he really wanted but hadn't been able to find. I'd like to give Blake a great BIG thank you for taking an incredible amount of time and patience's looking for this game as there were multiple versions but narrowed it down to the exact one my friend was looking for and by chance, had ONE left in the store! While my friend was out of sight, Blake pull the game and hide it for me so I could go back the next day to purchase. My friend was disappointed when Blake said, it was no longer available but will be ecstatic when I surprise him with an early Xmas gift. My husband and I are into retro video games and have been to all the local retro gaming stores and Fire and Ice is by far the best one. They have a large selection and nearly everything you can need or want is here! The prices are reasonable and competitive. They even have some rare and hard to find videos games. Aside from video games, they have a massive selection of Magic the Gathering, Pokémon, other card games. They also have regular events, tournaments, markets and more. This store really has everything you could possibly imagine! Above all else, the employees there are so unbelievably friendly. Unfortunately I found an issue with one of the cards in particular and went back to the store. I recognized Lee from my previous visit and approached him with my issue. Lee was so patient and understanding and remedied the problem without hesitation. With leadership like this, no wonder the rest of the staff are so attentive and friendly.
