Honestly, from the outside, this looks more like a strip mall than a 'Mall'. We walked in the…read moreetrance marked Dubois Mall between Big Lots and Ross and sure enough, it's a 'Mall'. Besides anchor stores Ross and Big Lots, there is a large J.C.Penney. The interior public areas are quite wide, with high ceilings. An average sized Bath & Body works and GNC are located in this section of the mall while many of the other businesses are smaller 'mom and pop' type businesses including a kitchen store, a craft store, a remodeling business and HW Book Peddlers to name a few. Wandering down toward J.C. Penney, there is a wide, bare hallway that looks like a dead end. Being of a curious nature, I wandered down there to find another section of the mall. Not as big, it runs parallel to the other section and J.C. Penney is also accessible from here. The mall office is located off this corridor and in front of this was a display of moving dinosaurs! That was a fun surprise. This section includes DuBois Cafe, Uzi's Pastries, two recruiters, Claire's and a nail salon plus more. Like many malls in America, this one is hanging on; not the haven it was in the 80's or 90's. The anchor stores are definitely worth stopping in to visit, and there are several discount stores of one type or another scattered throughout worth a look. That McNulty's looks like a childs heaven with all the stuffed animals! One area is set aside with arcade games. A few other game machines are scattered throughout the mall as well as several soda machines. Empty shop windows have been painted with cartoon characters which is festive. The wide hall ways make a nice space to stretch your legs on a cold, rainy day. There is lots of parking and a fair number of mall entrances. You can easily spend an afternoon window shopping. Who knows you may, like us, find a couple of items to buy. Then stop by the cafe for a snack or meal and walk off the calories or sit on a bench and do a bit of people watching. There are also several other businesses that share the parking lot including a restaurant and a movie theater. I understand the beginning of the Beaver Meadow Trail starts somewhere near the Mall. I'll have to go find that. When it stops raining.

For food you have Burgatory, Dee's, Moe's, Jersey Mikes, Starbucks, Millies and First Watch. There is a great nail salon, a store that sells high end crafted items and a liquor store. There are even fitness related businesses (pilates and barre). The parking, though, seems to have been designed to support a lot less traffic than what comes through the plaza. It is always a mad house and a dash to find parking spaces. And you feel like you are putting your life at risk if you try to cross the parking lot on foot. It has gotten a little better since the opened the space between McDonalds and the plaza (easier access to the traffic signals to get to 22). But it is hard to get into and out of, especially if you need to make a left.

Overall prices are reasonable. Stores include Starbucks, First Watch, North Park Lounge, Burgatory, Fine Wine and Good Spirits, and more. Friendly service and good staff from the stores I've visited. Located along Rt 22 at the entrance of Murrysville. Nice stop when biking the Westmoreland Heritage Trail. That all said I miss the hotel and pool that used to be there, showing my age apparently? Haha ENJOY but have your head on a swivel when coming or going!

Lord are those photos of this place old. Richland Town Centre replaced the Richland Mall. Once the…read moreGalleria opened up and a majority of the stores vacated for the new and shiny, Richland Mall was doomed. After the mall shuttered, it sat there for a bit before everything on the property had left. Once tore down, the shopping center sprung up. Home to national chain big box stores, it brought business back to this area. Some stores have been retained since the beginning. Others have either went bankrupt and closed or just switched up their names a bit, or downsized their store footprint. Doesn't matter either way, this center, or plaza, has remained busy. What is funny now, the stores that had vacated for the Gallery have started to come back to the old Richland Mall land. Several of the mall stores have now vacated the Galleria for their full circle moment return to this parcel. This place can be busy and you will need to keep your wits about you when you are trying to make your way from store to store. Think strip mall on steroids. Multiple entrances and exits. They seem to be in the midst of revamping some area and possibly adding my store in the surrounding area.

Parking right in front of each store is a breeze and I love in and out shopping when the need calls for it. I also love the fact that a Five Guys Burger and Fries is amongst this collection of shops. The centre caters to the needs of the local Johnstown folks with stores like Ross, Payless, Bed Bath and Beyond, Famous Footware, TJ Maxx, the Dress Barn, Petco, Dollar Tree ( still have no clue how they make money), Michael's, Fashion Bug and so much more. The Galleria put the Richland Mall out of business and now the Richland Town Centre is just taking some back. One back road will lead you to and from both the mall and the centre, which makes for a sweet shopping and dining out day.
