We fully acknowledge our responsibility in making the purchase "blind" - that's on us. That said, within the first week we had to get a new emergency brake, new brake pads, rotors and calipers. Three weeks later we had to replace the catalytic converters and manifolds. The local Nissan dealership wasn't able to accommodate our vehicle the NV3500 (what dealership doesn't have the lift to cover ALL their vehicles?) and recommended that I take it to their other Nissan shop which meant I would have to pay to tow my vehicle almost 35minutes away. My son and I bought a used 2020 Explorer platinum from this dealership. We decided to do it because it was a reputable place and they got the buy the promise policy. Saw it on line and bought. We live about 3 hours away. When you turn on the explorer a check lamp system light came on and then turned off. 30 minutes out and the headlights shut off. We had to drive home over 2hrs with no headlights. Called the salesman and told him and said that they were going to fix it. Made the appointment and the gave me a f150 as loaner. Called 2 hrs later said it was fix. Picked it up and 2 hrs into the trip warning light came back on and again no headlights. Called, texted and I got ghosted. 4 week ago after trying get a manager finally a lady from service setup another appointment. I went and when the salesman saw me turned white and asked what I was doing there. I explained left the explorer and left this time with no loaner. 4 weeks later they still got my car, Called service department and no one knew where the vehicle was. Positives for Yasser were after the sale, he was very good with paperwork, he spent 45 minutes with my son afterwards helping him to learn and figure out all the features of the vehicle. He followed up with my son to see how he was doing once he drove the vehicle off the lot which was great. Negative for Yasser was when we were talking numbers and trying to see if they would come down on the asking price, Yasser laughed in my face. This was unprofessional and very disrespectful. The only reason I did not get up and walk out was that this was my son's money, my son's purchase, and my son's decision. Service received was high quality and honest. They did great work! Mechanic Ethan found the small details that needed attention, little things throughout the car's engine and suspension that could go very bad very fast if left unaddressed. He even noted a screw thread that'd stripped on a critical engine component buried deep in the car. He replaced the whole component right away because it was the only way to fix it right, no short cuts. My kind of mechanic! He was able to take on my long list of repairs and he adapted as the list grew - a thorough top-down inspection, suspension repair and lift, engine timing belt service, radiator repair, oil pump replacement, driveshaft service, undercarriage protectant application, oil change, to name a few work items. He explained his work thoroughly over several phone calls throughout his multi-day repairs, and he talked me out of an eye-wateringly expensive bogus repair the Lexus dealership wanted to do. Ethan's my hero. Prices were fair, not cheap, but I paid for quality work and honest service and got both, a rare thing. Turn around time was a few weeks. Receptionist Paula was a gem. She kept me up-to-date on the repair status all along. She also arranged payment options when I was out of town and sent me photos of receipts and records electronically. Final timeline and price were both more than quoted, but the quality is definitely there. I would work with Ethan and Paula again, and recommend Bug Doc to my Versailles family if they can tolerate some flexibility in their calendar. Might you both come home with me?
