We are big fans of the Arrowhead location and love the bartending team there. But....this location is way closer to home, so we went last night for HH. The new restaurant is already busy and the vibe is alot younger than Arrowhead. The building is not as impressive though. We missed the soaring ceilings and post and beam architecture. I expect this facility is more efficient to maintain. Anyway, we both had entre' salads with protiens and everything tasted great. "Kudos" to the kitchen staff for executing at a high level so soon after opening. The bartenders, Kace & Chris were friendly and gave us great service at the bar. I did notice that they were super careful to measure the hooch when making every drink. It was fair on HH, but I dont want a tiny martini when paying full boat. I am sure this new location will earn a spot in our rotation. Firebirds has a menu and a system that just feels right for us. They also do a very good job hiring the right staff members. read more

We came in on a Friday night with a 6:00 birthday reservation. We were told they were a bit behind but that was no problem at all. We got the deviled eggs to start and it was plated BEAUTIFULLY. The deviled egg itself was pretty underwhelming, but the bacon luckily saves it. With there being 5 of us, we really got to see a variety from their menu. My mother got the meatloaf and to be frank it looked like it wasn't designed for human consumption. It looked, smelled and tasted like straight up dog food. I couldn't even stand looking at it across the table. My sister got the garlic steak and it was overbearingly seasoned. Listen... I love a good garlic steak but this was just insane. She got the mashed potatoes on the side as well and they tasted pretty much like blended Mac and cheese. It was like 98% cheese, 1% cream and 1% potato. I was really quite excited to try this. Not good. At all. I got the spicy pasta and it was just fine. The chicken was dry and just overall a strange texture that put me off enough to sift through my food and take remove it all. The sauce flavor was actually decent but it started to taste fishy as I continued eating it. I stopped and got a box. Much like everyone else. Overall really disappointed, it's pretty tough to get the whole family together for a nice meal and we chose to dine here and just left pretty upset and wishing we had chose somewhere else. 3 stars because we unfortunately did not tell our server of these issues and not a completely fair chance to rectify it. I think the kitchen and chef needs some serious, serious revamp. Service was pretty good, our server was kind and willing to answer our questions. In a word, meh! The restaurant is very nice but ridiculously cold. They sat us at a booth that was very comfortable and all staff we spoke with were very friendly. The food: We ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls Thai chili / hot mustard sauce to share. They come 4 to a plate and were very good. My husband ordered the Shrimp & Grits Shrimp / stone ground cheddar grits / andouille sausage / blistered tomatoes / Creole sauce. He said based off his entree alone he would not return. I took a bite of the andouille sausage and didn't care for the texture and it was fishy smelling and tasting. But the dish was delivered piping hot, so points for that. I ordered the Steak Tacos Three (3) tacos / wood grilled chimichurri steak / cabbage / pico / pickled onions / spicy sriracha sour cream. For my side I selected the Cider Slaw which was tasteless. The tacos were room temperature at best. We were seated by the kitchen and I heard them say the tacos were up but they sat and sat as they waited for my husband's entree to come up so by the time I got them they were cold. My husband had to ask someone for a refill on his ice tea and they never did come around to refill my water glass. We also had to ask for the bill because we hadn't seen our waitress since getting our food. For the appetizer, 2 entrees and a glass of iced tea the bill was $70.00 without tip. We don't mind paying top dollar if the experience is worth it. Unfortunately, our experience fell way short. We will return in a couple months to see if things have improved. Food sucked-I ordered the honey chicken and it was the size of my child's hand the chicken itself... the assorted veggies was just a few pieces of cold, steamed broccoli. The restaurant was super busy and due to not having a reservation we sat at the bar area. Our waiter was attentive and after we ordered our appetizer of chicken nachos we ordered our main meals and everything we tried to order he let us know he wouldn't be able to make it and had to go check with the kitchen because the fryer was broken. On the third time around he let us know the fryer wasn't broken only for us to order and he came back 5 minutes later and let us know it was a false alarm. I have to say we are so happy we chose Firebirds Grill upon our arrival in Phoenix. We had an outstanding chicken dinner and I must say the complementary bread was perfection. The alcohol drink options looked awesome and though we kept with our standard go to drinks, we look forward to trying other tempting choices on our next visit. The atmosphere felt great, though it was pretty quiet late night. I want to give a huge shout out to the Staff, primarily Daaiim who went above and beyond with his kindness and care towards our satisfaction. This did not go unnoticed and made the entire experience all the better. I don't know if his efforts made the chicken more delicious but I do know we walked out of there feeling great and extremely happy. Kudos to your team! read more

My wife received an invitation to this location's soft opening, and we were excited to give it a try since we have been going to two other Firebirds locations for many years. Those locations are much further away from where we live now, so we had been eyeing this location anyway. Once we arrived for our soft opening reservation, our server told us that the restaurant didn't have a sufficient number of VIPs and family members to serve as the "test customers" before the official opening, so they opened it up to random members of their Inside Circle program, of which my wife and I are a part. Our food was entirely free, so we only paid tip, and we had the entire brunch and lunch menus to choose from. (The dinner slots had all been taken by the time we made our reservation.) The building is a departure from the traditional "lodge" style buildings that Firebirds used in years past. The server said that they are just too expensive to build and maintain anymore, and I can understand why, even though I'm partial to that style. The new style is perhaps even more of an open concept for the most part, and the restaurant is smaller and a bit more typical in design. That said, it's not unattractive, and the patio area is thought out much better than the old buildings, which hardly considered them. The bar area is not entirely separate from the rest of the dining area in the new layout, and everything is on the same level, so no sunk-in dining area, as in the old building style. We were seated at a large booth not far from the kitchen, and the ensuing service and food were excellent. The only service issue we experienced was that some items we wanted on the side came on our entrees, and our entrees arrived before we were done with our salads. But the server apologized for all that and made sure we were happy. He was an excellent server, who I'd be happy to have serve us again. A friendly manager stopped by, and we chatted with him for quite some time about the new place. He seemed very excited about everything. I ordered the steak sandwich and substituted a baked potato for my side, and everything was delicious. (Firebirds has excellent baked potatoes.) When you order medium here, it is a true medium, if not a bit more red than most places, so keep that in mind. You can order exactly the doneness that you want without having to compensate for a jittery kitchen. The meat on a steak sandwich should never be tough, since you are not using a knife, and mine wasn't. And if you don't like cilantro, don't steer away from the cilantro mayo or the cilantro lime vinaigrette salad dressing. I don't like cilantro at all, and neither has any sort of cilantro taste to speak of, and both are delicious. In fact, that's the dressing I had on my garden side salad, and it was fantastic. My wife ordered the salmon with a baked potato, grilled vegetables, and the same side salad. She loved every single thing on her plate. And the bread they brought us in advance of the meal was as good as usual, if not quite as warm as it normally is. Firebirds' prices have gone up a lot over the years, so it isn't the cheapest place to eat. I do recommend signing up for the Inside Circle program, as they do send out periodic coupons and offers, including $10 off on your birthday and other random days throughout the year. Coupon or no coupon, though, you will nearly always get excellent quality here, and don't hesitate to tell them if something is off. They will try to make it right. We're looking forward to future visits to this newest Firebirds location. :) read more

Celebrating a bonus for My wife we ordered in. We have not had food from Firebirds before and I would give it overall an 8 out of 10. Each of the sides will cost you over eight dollars. They're pretty small. The au gratin potatoes are a 7 1/2 out of 10. I would give the macaroni and cheese a seven out of 10. The kids steak was good but it was supposed to be rare by the time it got to us it well done because they put it in plastic, but the flavor was good. I'd say eight out of 10. The prime rib 10 out of 10. Definitely worth a visit. read more

My wife and I had an early dinner on 8/30/2026. We sat in the bar area. We ordered the Wings, Deviled Eggs, Prime Rib Sliders and the 3-course meal with the Salmon. She also enjoyed the 8oz Pighin Pinot Grigio. The good part was most of the food was on point. We loved the wings and deviled eggs. My wife really enjoyed her Salmon. However, the Prime Rib sliders were super dry and tasteless. I was able to speak with Chef Andrew who mentioned they may cook them in Au Jus to keep them more moist and tender. We were invited for their soft opening. This is definitely what we needed in the Norterra area! We were greeted with their amazing staff as soon as we walked in. The vibes were upbeat. Food came up relatively quick! Our server Adrian was very knowledgeable about every question that we had. One of the best servers I have ever had! We had ordered the lobster queso, new york strip, and ribeye. Our steaks came out medium just the way we ordered it. Would definitely come here in lieu of Texas Roadhouse down the street. Norterra's New Favorite Gathering Spot! We were lucky enough to get reservations for preview night at the new Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Norterra, and we've already been back twice since--for official opening night on Tuesday and Happy Hour on Wednesday! Safe to say, this place has officially become our new go-to spot close to home. Night 1 (Preview Dinner): We arrived early to check out the bar scene and met Kaci and the bar crew. Kaci was amazing--she crafted fantastic drinks (the Double Black Diamond martini for me and the Dirty Bird martini for my wife) and was a delight to chat with. The bar vibe was spot on! Once seated at our table, our server Brandon kept the momentum going--super sharp, attentive, and on top of everything. We also met Mark, the bar manager, who was actively making the rounds to ensure everyone was having a great night. The food was phenomenal! Night 2 (Opening Night Tuesday): We came back for official opening night and had Jeff as our server. Jeff was incredible--incredibly attentive, great with conversation, and provided top-tier service. We also met Garrison, one of the managers, and it was great spending a few minutes getting to know the leadership team. Night 3 (Wednesday Happy Hour): We brought some friends along with us so they could try it out, and they absolutely loved it. We sat in the bar area, and Nick was our server--he did a great job keeping up with our group. It was so much fun seeing all the familiar faces; Mark, Brandon, Jeff, and the rest of the crew all swung by our table just to say hi and welcome us back. The Happy Hour itself is unbeatable--incredible food and drink options at fantastic prices. We decided to try the new location for dinner. It may be closer to home but sadly, it wasn't a good first visit. From the minute we walked in to when we left it was literally 45 minutes and we ordered the 3 course meal. We were beyond rushed right from the start. Our server was in a sprint the entire time. Husband's cocktail was brought incorrectly, the wrong salad had the added dressing and we were completely rushed the entire time. We were never asked if we would like another drink and she brought our bill before our dessert made it to the table. Honestly one of the weirdest experiences in a long time. read more

From start to finish what a great dining experience this new location was. The staff was absolutely beyond courteous and seated us at the exact time of our reservation despite a full waiting room. Started with the lobster queso which was really good with the homemade chips which were very light. I was concerned initially with pepper jack cheese being in it but you really don't taste it at all and is the flavor of the lobster really overtakes everything. A really great cornbread crusted warm bread complimentary was a nice before dinner munchie. The prime rib was unique as far as its taste because the seasonings I was not familiar with but it was really good. I asked the manager who was more than nice and wanting to find out what seasonings went into the prime rib even though I told them I just thought it was a very unique taste he insisted on going back and and informed me that it was Rosemary that was giving this prime rib kudos. From me it almost gave a kind of a sausage kind of taste which was very unusual for a prime rib but it was really good and I've had enough regular season prime ribs in my life to not mind when one stands out with some different seasonings which are blended into the meat for over a day before I get them served to me. A lot of the other reviews were talking about the baked potatoes but I found it just kind of a well a regular old baked potato with regular old toppings no big deal. That was about it it was a really nice experience and hopefully it stays that way as other people have told me about some negative experiences they've had other firebird locations. For now I walk around the neighborhood and wish them continued success based on this visit. read more

Great food. Steakhouse Wedge with candy bacon, onions, tomatoes, onion ring and blue cheese dressing blew me away. NY Strip seasoned to perfection had a great sear and was a perfect medium rare. I've been going to P83 firebirds for about 15yrs so I knew what quality to expect from the chain. Ordered a drink off the menu and the bartender was confused and didn't even know they offered that alcohol and needed assistance finding it. Ok it's a new location so that could happen. I order ribs with fries and onion rings for the sides as I have for the past 15yrs. When my food came out the ribs were luke warm, same for the onion rings which had the lightest coating of breading I've even seen. It seemed odd the onion rings were on a separate plate as they never do that. The fries were actually hot which was good as the lady next to me sent her back as they were cold. Forgot to mention this is the first time I was never offered bread as that's one of the things that firebirds actually does really well so I missed out on that as well. Now the fun part, the bill comes and for the first time in 15yrs I was charged a $7 up charge to sub the fruit for onion rings. I guess this explains the separate plate. So all in with a 20% tip, I spent $70 on a slab of Luke warm ribs and 1 drink. As a bonus, I asked them to box the left over ribs. When I got home, I open the box and find out they also threw the left over fries on top of the ribs which soaked up the bbq sauce so now I have left over ribs without sauce. read more

First was given a lunch menu instead of a dinner menu so me and my wife had been staring at two different menus at first. Service was 50/50. Not bad but not great. Gosh, where to start. This restaurant is newer to the area so they've been pretty busy. We went in there Thursday evening for 5pm reservations. They had our table ready, which was was great, and the restaurant was already pretty busy. However, this is kind of where the good stopped. Right off the bat, using the restroom, we saw that the stall was out of toilet paper, the trash cans were overflowing with trash, and one of the automatic paper towel dispenses (out of 2) were empty. We ordered waters and lemon for the table to start. The lemons never came. We ordered 3 cocktails, all of which were brought out at separate times. One of the cocktail's, a margarita, was supposed to have salt on the rim that was requested, and it didn't. The runner or bartender who delivered the initial margarita seemed annoyed when asked to rim the glass. We order 4 ribeye steaks ( 3 x 12-ounce, 1 x 16-ounce) - they all looked the same size. When I say I've never seen a thinner cut of ribeye in my life, I truly mean it. These ribeyes were about the length of my pinky nail - probably 1/3 inch to 1/2 inch. Because they are SO thin, 3 of them came out well done, and the fourth, which was ordered med-rare, came out medium - however, because they are so thin and probably cook extremely fast, the fat on the steak is not rendered, leaving very hard chewy fatty pieces. One dish, which was supposed to be salmon and shrimp, came out as chicken and chicken....yes, seriously. Two breasts of chicken instead of shrimp and a filet of salmon. The manager spoke with us about that dish and took it off the tab, and offered a free dessert - more on that in a minute. We continued with dinner and ordered our dessert. The dessert took 30 minutes - no joke. After we ate the dessert, we were ready to go. We received the bill and lo and behold, the dessert was one there. Once we mentioned this to the server, he indicated he would have the manager take it off. 20 minutes later, we still hadn't seen the bill. I tracked down a different server and gave him our card because by this time, we had spent the last hour waiting on a dessert and a bill. We were certainly ready to get out of there. A member of our party used the restroom before leaving and he indicated that the trash was still overflowing, no TP in the stall etc. We really wanted this restaurant to work as there aren't a ton of great options in the area. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst experiences we'd had at a restaurant in a long time. Honestly, one member of our party said the food and service is far better at Texas Roadhouse - I tend to agree. I wanted to add as well, the side of vegetables that I ordered with the ribeye, were essentially raw. It had a couple pieces of zucchini/squash, two pieces of broccoli, and red onion. They literally tasted and felt like they were warmed up then served. No flavor, not even a hint of softness, just chewing on crunchy broccoli and squash. Additionally, one member of our party wanted to order a summer special that was listed in their website, however the server had no idea what we were talking about and said sometimes the website is restaurant specific.....okay. Again, thinking about this a day later, just genuinely disappointed overall with the whole meal, service, etc. I left two stars because maybe there's some kinks that can be worked out. I think one star reviews are for genuinely inedible food. Please stop serving thin-sliced ribeyes, or at the very least, inform your guests or put it on the menu. We won't be back. read more

I was quite dissapointed in the quality of the food today. I had ribs that were dry and boring. The loaded baked potato seemed like a reheated leftover. The fruit was not fresh. My friend had the meatloaf which he said was good but the portion was very small. It came with very little broccoli. The mashed potatoes were fine. The waiter was wonderful but we spent an hour and 20 minutes there due to waiting so long for the meals then desert. As far as the ambiance I would give it about 2 stars. From now on I will make the drive to go to the Arrowhead resturant where back in July everything was exceptional! read more

Just opened 2 weeks ago, but everything was smooth as silk. Marissa, our server was a gem. Inexplicably, we were on one side of the restaurant while all her other tables we're on the other side, but she cheerfully kept a close watch on us. The Durango burger was incredibly juicy and actually cooked to medium as requested. Was meeting up with a friend, so we did stay a bit long at our booth. Marissa continued to check in on us and even gave us drinks for the road. Will be back! read more

Had a reservation for 5:15 on 7/25. Literally the first dinner service when they opened. The experience exceeded our expectations because you never know how the first nights will go. We sat at the bar. Both the service and food were top notch. The servers Stephanie, Jake, Britt, Mike, Leo and others were welcoming and well informed. I had the blue cheese filet. My friend had the Cajun ribeye. They were both cooked perfectly. This is a great addition to the Norterra dining scene. I will be a happy hour regular here going forward. read more
