While waiting for tires, there were a few options nearby to relax and have something to eat and we decided on Peaks & Valleys. It advertised itself as a restaurant but when we walked in, it was a bar. Not usually a fan of bar food, I thought it was going to be disappointing, but I was so wrong. The food was actually very good! Not bar food at all! The woman running the bar couldn't have been any nicer & welcoming to us. The food was delicious. It was a very quiet time of day (brunch) and the menu was as good as any restaurant with several breakfast and lunch options (breakfast served all day on weekends).

Fun little bar to stop for a drink. They play good music and have several games to keep the fun going. We didn't try the food, but it smelled amazing! Watch out for the lady with the paddle.

    Menu, soon to be updated

My husband and I were wanting breakfast and/or brunch, and we decided to try Peaks & Valleys Restaurant. We were welcomed, served and treated kindly by Roger. We were glad we came out! There was only 1 man at the bar and a group of 4 at a table. The rest of the place was empty. From the outside, and lack of cars, made us Joe they were open--because we were hungry! We sat at a tall table in the back. It was windy, and the plastic window/walls were creaking a bit. However, the views were pretty and I can imagine how nice it would be there on a warm night. The music pipped through was great, and we kept capturing the songs, so we could listen to them again later. I ordered a Bloody Mary w/Tito's vodka (yeah, it was there), and it was thought that we both ordered them. It was a mistake, and I offered to drink the second one...but Roger said to not worry, and he was going to dump it. Oh no! That's, in my world, is alcohol abuse! Ha! Anyway, my husband ordered his Mimosa and was happy. For food, I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, and my husband ordered a Denver Omelette. Both plates were fresh, hearty, and delicious! Oh, and quite affordable! Per Roger, the menu was to be updated soon, which is why it had blackouts on it. I'm guessing more people come there for drinks, with friends, to shoot pool, enjoy the ambiance and enjoy the views. I'm just happy we have a new place to go for a yummy meal! We will be back! Thank you for welcoming and feeding us!

We shared the Bang Bang Shrimp, a favorite of ours. The flavor was great as always, although this batch seemed to have a little more batter than usual. Not a big issue, just something we noticed. We ordered the lobster sliders to split and they were great. The order comes with three sliders, and each one was generously filled with chunks of lobster. I also loved the addition of diced tomato and avocado, which added texture. The sliders were a good size. We added a side of truffle fries, which unfortunately fell flat. They looked like regular fries and, while they did have some truffle flavor, they were missing the Parmesan cheese and seasoning that typically make truffle fries stand out. They were okay, but a bit disappointing. We had a nice lunch. The only downside was the price. For one appetizer, one lunch entrée, fries, and one cocktail the total came to over $75, which felt a little steep for lunch. That aside we loved the sliders and would order them again and we always order the Bang Bang Shrimp when we're there.

When I arrived to pick up the order, I was surprised to find that the price was around $17. I mentioned to the server that I had ordered the lunch special, but she told me that I had ordered the full-size club sandwich (which she recommended, and the chicken sandwich apparently is not on the specials list) ... and that even if I had specifically ordered the special, she would have corrected me because the special is not available to-go. I explained that there may have been a misunderstanding between us and asked if she could make an exception given the circumstances. Unfortunately, I was told there were no exceptions, and the server continued to insist that I had never mentioned the special. I then asked to speak with the manager. I acknowledged that it was certainly possible there had been a miscommunication when I placed the order, but I was fairly confident that I had specifically asked for the lunch special. At a minimum, I was certain I had ordered a half sandwich. Unfortunately, the manager's response and tone made me feel as though I was being accused of lying rather than simply dealing with a misunderstanding. It was particularly disappointing and unnecessary. I also pointed out to the manager that their online menu does not indicate that the lunch special is for dine-in customers only. If there is a dine-in restriction, I suggest they make it clear on the online menu, so customers aren't put in this position. This was my first time visiting this restaurant after living in Anthem for nearly four years. I was hoping to have a positive first experience, but unfortunately, the way this situation was handled left me very disappointed. I'm not upset that there was a misunderstanding about the special. Mistakes and miscommunications happen. What bothered me was how I was treated when I tried to resolve it. I would have appreciated a little understanding and an effort to find a reasonable solution, especially as a first-time customer.

I was happy to see they had a limited cocktail menu. Anything beyond a Bloody or a Mimosa is unnecessary at a bfast/lunch place, but word is they're getting a new full bar in an upcoming renovation. So if you like an Old Fashioned with your pancakes, you're in luck! We had a bunch of stuff, highlighters the million $ bacon. Lowlight was the biscuit bites. Nice flavor but super dry. The menu pic is better than the actual. Good place though. Overall the food, service and atmosphere will get me back there.

I am reviewing the North Valley Pkwy location…read more First Watch has been on a downhill slide for a while, and my breakfast here on Friday confirmed it. I was in Phoenix for a work trip and ordered breakfast and drinks for three people. The bill was around $100, which would be perfectly reasonable if the food and service matched the premium pricing. Unfortunately, they didn't. I ordered the Morning Meditation, advertised as a fresh juice made with orange, beet, lemon, ginger, turmeric, and agave. After a long wait, I received what appeared to be plain orange juice. When I asked for it to be corrected, the server brought me a small cup of beet juice and told me to mix it in myself. I then asked about the other advertised ingredients, including the ginger and turmeric. He mumbled something, and when I asked him to clarify, he said something along the lines of, "I can't go to the station; I don't have access to it." He then walked away, and that was the end of it. No attempt to correct the drink, replace it, or remove it from the bill. This wasn't my first visit. I've eaten at First Watch many times (various locations), and the food has consistently been bland and barely okay--perhaps a small step above IHOP--while the coffee tastes like basic hotel coffee. Service is hit or miss, but more often than not, it's a miss. I have no problem paying premium prices for premium food and service. But First Watch is charging premium prices without delivering either. At this point, continuing to return after so many disappointing experiences is probably my own fault. I won't make that mistake again.
