The perfect spot if you're looking for a casual brunch spot. Firebug has two other sister restaurants and we chose this brunch place because it was closer to our hotel. I like this location because if you're sitting outside, you get a view of the Arc de Triomf - can't get a better view! We ordered the salmon entree which is served with hollandaise over it as well as the chorizo hash. We enjoyed both but our only complaint was that the hash was a bit oily. They also offer a free cocktail if your check in on Yelp and show them the deal. read more

First time around, we both got Mexican style breakfast. The huevos rancheros is still probably my favourite thing on the menu. Went here for brunch on a quiet Friday morning in September. A very pleasant experience all round. Nice location just beside the Arc de Triomf and easy to find - which I found is a major plus in Barcelona with it's innumerable alleyways and squares. My other half had the Mediterranean toast which looked and tasted great and I opted for the huevos rancheros - as you do. Both excellent. We asked for 'strong' lattes and the server gently reminded us that Spanish coffee is very strong so maybe a double would be preferable to a triple. Nice touch. We are American, so our Spanish is poor and our waiter didn't speak English which is totally understandable since we are in Spain. But the waiter was completely rude. We tried our best to explain what we wanted. He got frustrated when we ordered an extra orange juice and slammed his hand into the wall. He ignored out requests for condiments, then came and took the ketchup another server got us and gave it to his other table; who, by the way, spoke Spanish and he was the nicest waiter in the world to. This place has great reviews and the food was good but we will never be back or recommend this place to anyone because of the way they treated us just because we are American. We weren't able to find out the waiters name but if you don't speak Spanish, don't go here. Somos estadounidenses, por lo que nuestro español es pobre y nuestro camarero no hablaba inglés, lo cual es totalmente comprensible ya que estamos en España. I genuinely wanted to like this place. It was a nice atmosphere and the food was pretty great, but the waiter forgot to bring me a fork and knife and a napkin. He disappeared for a while so I couldn't even ask him and when he finally came back and I was able to he only remembered to bring the napkin, so I still had to eat everything with my hands, which of the restaurant had been really full I would have overlooked, but it seemed fairly empty so I was a bit disappointed. But I doubt this is a regular occurrence at Firebug, it was just unfortunate because I definitely would have rated 4 or even 5 stars had he been better. read more

This place is definitely a must! We came for the first time and immediately decided to come again the next day. We started off with a latte and a mocha, a good start to any day. Both are great options. The Chorizo Hash is probably my favorite dish, even though I am usually not a huge fan of sausage in the U.S. We also got the breakfast burger with patatas (a better alternative to french fries any day of the week). They made it medium rare, which I love, but if you're not about that then you should definitely specify how you want it cooked when you're ordering it as they will not ask you. The service was amazing and the atmosphere is relaxing with a nice view of the street from the second floor. It was heavenly especially because they use fresh crab meat! Lots of luscious meat on top of the poached egg made me deliriously happy and wondered why we never have this in Canada. Service is quick and the classic beverages, cappuccino, americano and teas all tasted great. It was a beautiful day, so, of course, they didn't have any outside seats at the moment. That's alright--we ended up eating outside. Got menus quickly and looked over the menu. Like any restaurant in Barcelona, you end up paying for water. The people seemed to be more of travelers rather than locals, but that was my impression. (There were quite a few tables not speaking Spanish.) The service was a bit on the slower side, and we had to flag down individuals a few times. The food was solid. I had the burrito and my partner had the chorizo salad. Both were quite good! I thought my burrito could've used some more pizzazz, but I was happy with it. Overall, Firebug was a solid restaurant with a lovely ambiance, but we loved some other restaurants more throughout our trip! I'm not sure it was necessarily a spot that I would stop by again if I was back in Barcelona, but it was good for what we needed. read more

They made my martini with vodka, instead of gin. 1 euro upcharge to upgrade the vodka from Absolute to Ketel One. The flavor of the food was spot on. Salt n pepper calamari was delish, not chewy.
