RENT YOUR CAR ELSEWHERE!!! As mentioned by many other before me they trick you into some super cover insurance. I was very clear that I already had an insurance and would not want another one. The word 'insurance' was never mentioned by the staff, only 'deposit' (which you'll get back). The amount was greater than the rental cost itself, therefore you think of it as a car deposit. I understood on the way from the airport that they tricked me and contacted their office directly. The answer I got was "if you signed the agreement there is nothing we can do". Scam, lure with attractive car rental prices, then when picking up the car € 192 extra is charged at the Firefly counter, for example for a full tank and € 50 extra 'service costs' for refueling?! + airport tax, 5 lines of fabricated and unavoidable costs. On top of that, immediately pay a deposit of 1,000. Firefly/Hertz employees are behind this doyouspain policy. When picking up the fuel gauge is not even at the top and I still had to refuel the car myself. We get a car with various minor damage, so they have damaged customers € 1.000 per time and therefore do not repair the damage. I had pre-booked a specific car, but then I even got a smaller car, but according to the desk clerk, it fell within the same category. AVOID!!! I booked a car rental with Firefly through booking.com. After the rental, they charged me 66€ extra on my credit card WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION OR REASON! I sent them an email to inquire about this , but never received any reaction! read more

This company are thieves, They added recovery to my account which was close to the amount we paid for car hire, when I questioned it he actually told me thats what it was for ( the hire cost) and to ignore the recovery word, Why would I get recovery on their car when its less than a year old!!!! I believed him as that was the only amount showing so thought I was signing for the original fee paid!!! What an idiot I was. Be careful Firefly offers low rates but overcharges you either by mistake or on purpose. Of course you only learn about it when you check your credit card statement. You will not get any communication from them via email and will not be able to contact them by phone. The entire process of renting a car was easy and quick. At return the attendant was not there so I followed the instructions and dropped off a key in the box. The big disappointment came when I checked my credit card statement. Firefly charged me double to what was on the contract. There is no way to contact them by phone. It was my first time and I am not going to rent from Firefly again. I travel too much to be bothered by companies having questionable business practices. read more

They never paid back the 400 euro deposit and have ignored every single email and telephone call regarding this matter.

Do not ever rent from them! They'll sell u an insurance when u book it and put one extra super cover insurance in when u pick up the car without telling u about. You will just think it's the deposition. They also charged med 45euros extra because I was under 26 (young driver) but my reservations papers told that the limit was 24. There will probably also stand in line for hours to get it out because they are slow and retarded. read more

BAD service! You really have to be alert when picking up your car. I did not pay 100% attention when signing the rental papers, so they "sold" me an extra car insurance apart from the extra cover I already bought. Next the car was full of dents and scratches and was not really clean. A final surprice they will charge you a full tank of gasoline, even if you did not use this and charge you the highest possible price. read more

We arrived late, the flight was delayed 90 minutes went to Firefly and got handed keys and a breakdown of damage (7 injuries) we went to the car and then there were many more injuries than what was checked on the damaged paper we got, we found 8-9 (big) injuries that could be seen very easily, so I went back and told the staff that this car was not checked well and if none of the 4 were at work could help me go over the car , they would not and then she crossed 8 crosses on the damage paper and said there was more I only had to take it with those I returned the car, I also told that the car smelled very strongly into and if she did not have a car you could guarantee was ok with damage etc., but she did not say that they had no cars at the time when it was better than the one I got. I said we had to deliver the car at 6 o'clock and you're not open yet, but then she said I had to take pictures and take it up with the insurance, as I got trouble, the worst service I have so far received in Spain so I am done with Firefly. read more

Check the rental agreement before you sign. Make sure the box headed Insurance & Coverage Declaration has all lines marked as DECLINE. Else you will be charged €20 per day! for CDW insurance. This was not discussed with me, & I always buy CDW insurance in the UK at £25 for 2 weeks not per day! Unfortunately I had signed the agreement without noticing this - trust me, it's not clear & was certainly not discussed. It seems there have been no improvements in the Firefly service since the previous reviews. My experience in July 2018 mirrors that of the earlier reviewers. Firefly are still up to their old tricks, the lady at the desk gave me a verbal torrent regarding the benefits of purchasing additional Insurance, and then proceeded to tear apart the company's reputation when I showed her the certificate of additional cover which I purchased online from Zurich. I then had the same old hassle with additional damage to the vehicle not indicated on the paperwork, with the associated pain of having to park-up, go back into the terminal, get to the front of the queue and then find someone who gave a toss. Now two weeks later when I get my credit card bill, there's an additional charge of nearly £300, with no explanation (the office in the car park was closed when I returned the car), as to the reason for the charge.
