I wasn't sure what to expect, due to the reviews wavering quite a bit. We decided on an early supper last night, and we are impressed! The hostess seated us immediately, and our server was fantastic. I wish I could remember his name (maybe Carl?), but he surprised me with his attention to detail and his timing. He didn't hover, but did check in on us a few times, and Made sure that everything was perfect. We sat in a booth, and the first thing I noticed, was the music playing. It wasn't loud or distracting, it was actually quite pleasant. The booth was clean, and not cluttered. The silverware was wrapped in a cloth napkin, and the water was served in a glass, instead of the plastic water cups, most places use. Nice touch! My husband ordered the catfish wrap with Cajun fries, and I ordered the Firefly salad. Although I didn't taste my husbands food, he said it was really good. The wrap was stuffed full, and so large, he could only eat half of it. This man never asks for a to-go box, but he did last night! I will definitely recommend the firefly salad. There was a wonderful variety of mixed greens, red onion, tomatoes and bacon, along with 3 good sized chicken strips. The chicken strips were well seasoned, and sooo crispy. But that dressing?!? Oh My Gosh! It is strong on its own, but it was absolutely perfect when mixed in with the salad. This is absolutely a place we will return to!!! read more

I've been trying for weeks to get over and try Firefly Bar & Grill, and tonight it finally happened. I know the family that opened the restaurant, so I am more than happy to get in here and try out this new menu (new to me). Located on Southwest Parkway in the old Jalapeño Tree/Chuck E Cheese building. After an extensive interior/exterior remodel they opened up about four months ago. Love what they did with the exterior, and equally enjoy the interior. Lots of seating, great for families and large groups. They have a separate bar dining area as well. There is a lot of variety in the menu, you'll have to check it our yourself, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Our server was Lacey, and she got our appetizers ordered. Went with Bacon Jalapeño Mac & Cheese Bites, Greek Meze, and Goat Cheese & Sausage Dip. Wanted something new to my tastebuds and the Goat Cheese & Sausage Dip definitely covered that task. It's a combination of Harrisa Sausage and cheese blend. It was accompanied by tortilla chips. Let me tell you this, in was freaking delicious!! I cannot describe the taste, but it was definitely a food orgasm in my mouth. I will be getting that on every visit after tonight. The Bacon Jalapeño Mac & Chees Bites are rolled balls and deep fried. Very tasty, but I was too obsessed with the previous cheese dip. Still can recommend these! The Greek Meze is basically a sampler. This one has Pita & Hummus, Falafel, and Dolma. Loved the taste of every item on this Meze. You can't go wrong ordering it. It was time to order some entrées. If my heart had not recently been mended, the next tidbit would have gave me a heart attack. I ordered the Koobideh and was told it was unavailable and would be disappearing from the menu. WTF!! Lacey broke my heart, like I said, it could have been worse. So I settled on the Braised Short Rib. That's a 16-hr braised short rib and I'm just realizing, from reading menu description, my grilled onions & mushrooms were missed. Oh, I would have loved the meat even more! This meat was cooked to perfection! The flavor was incredible!! I paired it with mashed potatoes and green beans. You cannot go wrong ordering that dish. The 'Mediterranean' flatbread was a real flavor treat with it's combination of toppings on the House-made Dough. Just look at the pictures and try not to lick the screen or eat your phone. For dessert, Lacey and Borzoo suggested the Nutella and Tres Leches cheesecakes. Those were both absolutely delicious! I highly recommend you give them both a try. My friend Borzoo gifted them to the table and thank you. I can highly recommend Firefly, you wont be disappointed. Great menu full of diversity. I love the food! The fries are so crispy and seasoned well every time. The fish and chips are great! The Greek fries are delicious! My son loves the catfish basket also. The bartender is friendly, quick and his cocktails are delicious! I'm not a fan of the sweet and sour margaritas that you get all over town but Firefly makes a FRESH margarita with real ingredients! This place is very spacious. We came for lunch and we'll see it immediately. I asked the greater about the big seating area for a future lunch event and she told me that you have to pay to rent a space but she would come back and answer how much it cost. She never returned the answer my question and even told me goodbye when we left. This place does not do military discount nowhere do they have a senior discount. The cheapest thing on the list cost nine dollars for chips and queso and nine dollars for six wings. My friend who is older, enjoyed the garlic Parmesan wings, but I felt that the taste was absolutely off and could not finish one. It didn't taste like garlic or Parmesan and the bread wasn't crispy. The garlic Parmesan french fries cost about four dollars and were pretty good. The $18 catfish plate was not the best. Bradford is the best catfish in town. It did have a nice crisp on it needed more seasoning, but has small pieces. The sweet potato came with margarine not butter, which was really greasy, no flavor and regular cinnamon which I took out of the Sweet potato and the sweet potato was pretty hard. You could slice it like cake. The potato was not that great. The macaroni and cheese was not good at all, not cooked all the way and had a bad taste like box macaroni and cheese definitely would not recommend to buy. The only thing on a plate that was OK to eat was the catfish and that was not a big enough portion size for the price in my opinion. The building was nice clean with lots of space. It did take a little bit for our food to get there, but wasn't anything great. If other people wanted to come, I would come back, but I would not necessarily recommend this restaurant. I did tell the waitress all the things that was wrong with my food. My niece got a burger $13 with a fries, no drink and bacon added the cost was $18.40. read more

I ate at Firefly once, the week they opened. The Good: service was friendly, helpful, and kind. Excellent service. The bar puts the right amount of alcohol in the cocktails, and takes special orders. The strange: decor seems to be a mix of sci fi, art deco, and western... makes it hard to determine this restaurants identity. The food: seems to be a fusion of Mediterranean and Tex-mex. Met a friend for Friday lunch last week. Great service from Shannon! I was a bit early, and Shannon was attentive, even bringing me an ice pack for a wasp sting I'd gotten that morning (which had started to swell). She kept my tea refilled and offered a to-go cup. I had the sausage pesto flatbread and my friend had the Brussels sprouts appetizer. We shared, and had more than enough! I enjoyed the quiet, clean atmosphere. Been here a couple of times and never disappoints. Sometimes the food does take some time to come out to the table but it's so worth it once it's there! Like the fact they have different menu options as far as classic burgers, flatbreads, pasta, Mediterranean options, salads, and killer steaks is one of the few reasons I keep coming back. Ate here several months ago. There was something in particular I wanted from looking at the menu online. When I got there, it was a very different menu. What I got was good, but the service was so bad that it sort of ruined the whole experience. I ordered a cup of soup and was asked if I wanted it before my meal or during. I wanted before. After waiting about 30 minutes for my food and reminding the waitress about my soup during the wait, my soup came just before I could eat no more of whatever else I ordered. Went on Mother's Day to try the new place and was grossly disappointed. After seeing so many "soft" openings, we were really hoping it would be good.we arrived at 11:30am and left at 12:15 without eating. We sat for 20 minutes before we were acknowledged by a server and saw others walk out. During that time we looked around and saw just how odd the decor is: kitchen spices, cowboy, mountain scenes, neon drink art, and a random firefly. Weird. We ordered our food (server said she hasnt worked a brunch and didnt know the menu) and another 20 minutes goes by when the "FOH Manager" comes to the table to tell us something on the menu we were given isn't available. That's when we all looked at each other and said let's go somewhere else. They were not that busy, but they seemed really stressed. I gave 1 star, but unsure how the food actually tastes.
