Ate dinner here on Sunday, June 21. Was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. A nice touch. I used the kiosk to place my order and found it confusing. I figured it out eventually but ended up ordering a small sandwich when I wanted a medium Not a big deal. I ordered the jerk turkey sandwich combo meal. My sandwich was ready quickly and delivered to me which was a nice touch. The sandwich was delicious. Very well prepared. I thought the cost of the meal to be very reasonable. The restaurant was very clean..The tables, chairs, floor and drink statuon were spotless. A delicious sandwich at a very reasonable price with fast and friendly service. I will be back. read more

My wife used to live in an area with a Firehouse Subs. We ate there frequently and LOVED IT. TRecently we when we were in the area of a Firehouse we decided stop by. The Firehouse theme seems no longer to apply. Big meaty subs made by firemen (firepersons) with hearty appetites from doing hard fire fight-fighting related work are a thing of the past. We paid nearly $30 for two marginally loaded (They were skimpy on the meat). subs, two drinks bucks two subs and two small bags of chips. We probably won't be back again. read more

Easy spot along 29 South to grab a meal. The online ordering app is easy to use and I can walk in and pick my order up from the to go shelf. A regular sub is very filling (especially with the dill pickle spear) so I rarely opt for chips, although my husband does add chips to his order. My go to is the Italian on wheat without deli mustard and onions. I've found that the deli mustard overpowers the Italian dressing and seasoning. I love firehouse sub, but this location seems different. I've been here 4 times in total and 3 of the 4 my request of no pickle added on top was not completed. This time I went in instead of ordering on their app as I have in the past and requested again to please not put the pickle, it ruins the sandwich for me and yet again it happened. Since it's a $14 sub I called this time after letting it go and wasting money before and was not offered a refund, but said a coupon would be mailed to me. I wonder if the coupon will truly cover the cost I paid with that can be proven with a receipt? I bet chances are slim. Disappointed, and I don't think I'll be coming back on the principle. Worst experience at a firehouse subs and I usually love this place. They made my allergy sandwich wrong. Then when I brought it up to be fixed (they'd cut it with a red sauce knife and that's one of my allergies). They gave me back my dame bread (dirty from the knife). When I brought it back for them to remake it, they forgot the ham on my hook & ladder. After remaking my sandwich 3 times I just gave up and ate it. Very disappointed read more

I really enjoy the subs here. They taste great, but they ARE a bit on the small size. I'd think that with a name like "Firehouse subs" you'd get some whopping big sandwiches! I'm mostly docking a star because the wait time here is rather long. An easy going place which translates into very slow service, haha. What a wonderfully welcoming Firehouse location! As soon as you walk in, you're bound to be greeted with "Welcome to Firehouse" by nearly everyone behind the counter. When you make your way over to put in your order, the conversational patter of the service staff is polite and engaging, and the staff doesn't leave it at that: they come out from behind the counter to check on guests repeatedly, offering drink refills, additional sauces, etc. A+ on the service. The food itself is good, but it's a sub place - so even as fresh and hot as it gets, I'll still only give it four stars because of the nature of the place. Still, big fan! Got a large steak and cheese with provolone onion and pepper and then got a large honey ham and honey I made literally two pieces of ham on it and it was $30 I don't know if I was overcharged probably two large subs a little over $30 that was 1599 for the steak and cheese and then 1493 for the ham sub totally disappointed will never order from there again not to mention I asked for no hot peppers on one of the ham subs and halfway through we noticed there was all kinds of hot peppers on it so I'm very dissatisfied never again read more

Dropped by this place after shopping at DSW and was blown away by how good their subs are! My boyfriend and I split the footlong Italian sub and we were both really stuffed and happy with our meal. The whole wheat bread was so fresh and chewy- I loved every single bite! The Italian ham and salami were spicy and sweet. The entire sub was juicy and very well seasoned! There was a little too much sauce and not quite enough veggies, but it was still an amazing sub! Definitely beats Subway. Prices are fantastic too! They also have a ton of different sauces for people to try out. read more

Over priced and bad customer service. was recovering from major surgery so for few weeks was being driven around. Was about time for meds and got excited to ride along w my s.o. To Charlottesville just so I could get firehouse for our lunch. In being in a hurry and not grabbing us some cash since I hadn't been taking my purse. We stop at firehouse and all I had was an emergency $20 I keep hidden for gas or food. $20 couldn't buy you one large sub no drinks no sides!! We were gonna share a sub alone and couldn't afford that.!!!! We tried doing an online order since I have my s.o.s credit card memorized but the site kept crashing ( brand new iPhone and my phone as well) the older gentleman who runs the place was not helpful at all when trying to explain or even let us have 1 of the 2 sub meals (just the sub )we planned to get for just $20 even. He didn't try to use his or a firehouse sub computer /phone to make an order or online purchase a gift card so my s.o. And I could use it. I don't except the red carpet but when explaining I was recovering from having my breast removed from having breast cancer and how much we were looking forward to firehouse he couldn't not have cared any less . We went down the road and found an awesome new sandwich shop that we now hit regularly and we can each get a big sandwich made to order a side drinks and sweet snack and still is way more cheaper then firehouse. When eating out it's my or our special thing so at times price isn't a worry at all but when I think about $20 for a large sub common that's ridiculous! The subs are good but with inflation and the attitude received we now for the last few months since this has happened we do not go back to firehouse and do not plan to in the future at least at this location but more then likely will not visit others due to the experience here. I had liked it before but years being a loyal customer means nothing at all . This place sucks. They get my boyfriends order wrong EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. All the poor guy wants is pepperoni and ham on white bread. That's it!! Every time we go here they always put cheese and other items on there. I've never understood that kind of phony customer service. Anyway, the menu didn't offer a single veggie option, so I settled for the chicken salad. Despite the fact that it wasn't busy and there were more employees behind the counter than diners in the restaurant, the sandwich prep took A LOT longer than it should have. Employees were very pleasant. We came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. We got our food in less than five mins. I got the meatball sub and it was amazing!! I am always Leary on meatballs because I am a meatball snob haha but this sub did not disappoint!!!! The owner was super friendly!! Cookies are awesome too!!! The food was great. The place is clean, and the decor was nice. I was there at lunch time. I waited 35 minutes for a sandwich. I finally talked to a manager who apologized and brought me the wrong sandwich, which he had to take back and finally bring the me the right one. No offer of any discount for waiting so long, Just an explanation of "we have only been open 9 days and we the staff doesn't know where to put their hands". UMMMM ok. The food was good. I am no Gordon Ramsey, but I don't think it takes 35 minutes to put chicken salad on a bun. I am undecided whether to give them another chance. read more

My order was all wrong. First, I ordered the turkey bacon ranch with a special request that It be made with the meat on the bottom. I am very picky about how my subs are made. I like the lettuce on top and since I am paying for it I should be able to have it how I like it. When I got my order, the meat was on top! I sent it back only to get a sandwich that was all messed up and missing the bacon. I don't think I'll be returning any time soon. If I do go back, I'll order the salad. Corned beef subs! Corned beef is the bomb! Its not low quality meat either, probably couldn't find better meat at the grocery store!

My wife got food poisoning at this location due to a steak and cheese sub. I am much more upset about how they handled the situation versus the incident itself (Although my wife was VERY ill for 24 hours and I almost had to take her to the hospital). When I contacted the store the owner did not even call me, he sent an email basically saying it could not have been them because they had no refrigeration or food issues, essentially calling me a liar. I was in the restaurant business for over ten years and opened up a restaurant myself so I understand the situation well. Based on what my wife ate leading up to her getting sick it was zero chance it was anything else. I have been going to Firehouse subs for years (Northern VA, Richmond, and Cville) and LOVE their meatball subs but I will absolutely never give this location another dollar. read more

This is a great shop! The owner, Ed really cares about his business. Folks are polite and friendly and the sandwiches (the ones I've tried more than once, usually I have the Smokehouse Brisket OMG) are consistent. I like the round-up thing where you can donate to first responders, that's very cool. They are usually busy but they have plenty of seats and the parking at 29th place is well adequate. The employees are inconsistent with their customer service message. I'm not sure if it's management or what but it seems odd. While waiting in line the gentleman making the subs were having personal conversations talking about inappropriate things and cursing. One gentleman even stated he couldn't wait to get off and wished it was 3 o'clock all right in front of a long line of customers. The young lady at the register was the only one taking orders with a very long line and was very friendly and smiling despite the lunch rush. The gentleman clearing tables and delivering food to waiting patrons was friendly.
