Where has this place been my entire existence? So I heard about the grinder sandwich on SM and I jumped on that train. I wanted another sandwich and I had run out of ingredients. A friend suggested that I go to Firehouse as the Grinder was a copy cat of their sandwich. Lucky for me, there was one near by. I went on. Friday afternoon and they were rocking and rolling. There was a line of 5 ppl before me and all the tables were pretty much filled. The lady at the register was so inviting. She never made anyone feel rushed even the lady that shared it was her first time there. Little did she know it was mine too but I had did a lil research before I went. I ordered the Hero sub with extra Mayo and I made it a meal by adding a cookie and a drink. When I got home and hit into that sandwich I was like wow. Mind you before this SM trend I was NOT a sandwich person at all. But FH subs has changed my mind. To add a lil cherry on top the confetti cookie was soooooi good. Per the lady at the counter they bake the cookies fresh daily. I went back on Sunday and got the same mea. I went right as they opened. The restaurant is wide open with the menu in plain view. The customer service is amazing. I had no clue what to order and other patrons suggested the brisket sandwich. I went with the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket. Can I tell you...it was amazing. The barbeque sauce is amazing and this sandwich melted in my mouth...I highly suggest the brisket sandwiches. Poor customer service. I tried to tell them that I was unable to call in my order because somethings wrong with their phone and the girl at the register argues with me and says we didn't get any missed calls. So I showed her on my phone that I called them and she's arguing with me, and then the next customer comes in and proceeds to tell her the same thing. Ugly customer service... Don't think I'll be here again. Came back here today...big mistake! Don't bother calling in food here. First of all the girl at the register with the long dark haired ponytail answers the phone and tells u to hold, to order, while she waits on everyone else in line before she will take your order. So if they are busy u will be waiting a long time. Then when u get here to pick up, you have to wait with everyone else ordering so what's really the point in ordering ahead? We hardly get the chance to make it out to Firehouse Subs, but when we do we're in heaven. Hot, juicy, tasty heaven! This was the first time we brought the kids with us and although we wished we had know about the special kids 12 and under in Tuesday's kids eat free ( we went Monday) they very much enjoyed it. Needless to say it was a little pricey for the 4 of us for just lunch. We even bought a 5 gallon pickle bucket. We like how they give back to the firefighters. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Worst fire house I have ever been to. The workers are all young men who can not follow simple directions.I ordered a BBQ sandwich extra toasted with extra BBQ sauce. They handed me a sandwich very very lightly toasted with ZERO BBQ sauce. My fiancé went to the counter and asked for the BBQ sauce, they hand us a little cup with ice cold BBQ sauce. not to mention, you think they'd support local law police, but they do not. They even asked if we wanted to donate money to local law enforcement first responders, but when my fiance (who is a local officer) asked which first responders they donate to, he said fire and EMS only. Firehouse Subs always makes a good effort to deliver a well made sub. I always enjoy them. The one item I don't like is the Mac and cheese. Too many cheeses make it taste stinky and bitter. I usually have amazing service at this store. Well the food is great except the fact they left my sandwich out of my pick up order. When I called the dips@@@ says "oh, that's what that bread was for". I call back another guy answers and I explain what happened again, he then continues to ask me "well, do you want me to remake it? ". My response was no, I want you to MAKE it since it wasn't made. Btw they made no effort to fix the mistake. Like asking me what can "we do to fix this?" Nothing. I have been waiting to try a sub from here. Been seeing the commercials and was glad I got to it today. As soon as I walked in the 2 ladies behind the counter greeted me. As i stood there looking at all the options, she made some suggestions based upon my answers to her questions. Ended up with a poboy that was very good. I asked her the name, she said we made it how you wanted, must say it was delicious. Roast beef, melted swiss, mushrooms on toasted bread with a few other small additions. Would certainly recommend based upon my experience and cant wait till the one on Siegan opens as it is a lot closer to where I live read more

As far as subs go, these are pretty top notch compared to similar competitors. I got the #6, club on a sub. I highly recommend this sub. Lots of flavor and textures going on here. Fresh toasted wheat bread with Smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, pepper bacon, melted Monterey Jack, mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a pickle on the side. I also added cherry peppers and sliced pickles for more flavor. I ordered the large size and it was more than enough to get the job done. I really liked eating here because of the quality of service and food that I received. Looking forward to trying other meals from here as well. read more

Had cheddar brisket poboy. On wheat bread. Awesome stuff. Thought it was a little expensive, tho, as it cost almost $24 for two sandwich meals, which also included chips & drink. It did taste good, not a lot of BBQ sauce to cover up the taste of the meat, which had the awesome smoked taste you would expect; enhanced by the BBQ sauce and cheddar cheese. Also has a Kosher Dill pickle spear on the side. It was also awesome to see pics of firemen that were under my command before I retired, pic of a church fire we fought and a mural with Denham Springs Fire Department's Engine 353. Made an old fire fella feel good. P.S. if you happen to need a five gallon bucket for anything, just donate $2 and you get their cleaned pickle bucket. read more

I love this place. Everything I've tried here has been amazing. The subs have so much meat on them. If you compare it to Subway, it has more meat than even double-meat subs at Subway. The flavors are so much better than Subway. It's really not even a fair comparison. We usually spend about $30 for 2 adults, a teenager, and a kid. I also love that when they ask of you want to contribute to their charity, they only ask you to round up to the next dollar. I do it every time, because I don't feel like it's asking a lot. read more

Ate there recently. The staff are always very friendly, welcoming, and professional. During the ordering process, there was a small issue that arose with my order. I ordered a meatball sandwich but there was a small issue with the meatballs so the employee handled the situation perfectly and made sure that even though my order had an issue, in the end I was taken care of and happy. I would have given this one star, but the food is actually pretty good. It's just the service is TERRIBLE! Definitely one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had!!! I went there tonight with my daughter, and she even said she doesn't ever want to go back there again because of the way we were treated. We walked in and stood in front of the menu board trying to decide what to order. There were about 8 employees standing behind the counter doing nothing but literally staring at us. The manager walked up and asked if we were ready to order, and I had just decided what to get so I said yes and waited for my daughter to let me know she was ready. Then, all of the employees started laughing at us, and the manager said in a very condescending tone as if making fun of us, "Well, you order OVER THERE....where it says ORDER HERE, ok?" So, I walked a couple of feet to my right and stood directly under the ORDER HERE sign, and then that same manager walked over and asked for our order. She then laughed and said, "I didn't mean anything by that - sorry". All 8 employees behind the counter again started cracking up laughing as if they were high on drugs and we were just the funniest sight ever, and the manager just kinda laughed and said, "they just want to get off early tonight". When my daughter was ordering a sandwich, she asked the manager how the sandwich was dressed, and the manager said, again in a very condescending voice as if she was talking to the two dumbest people on the planet, "how about we just start with medium or large and then we'll get to that". My daughter made it very clear what she wanted on her sandwich (just chicken, cheese, lettuce, and honey mustard - not rocket science here), and it actually showed up correctly on the receipt, but when we got home and she tastes it, it had horse radish on it!! I tasted it and it was bad. I'm thinking this was done on purpose because when we were leaving, one of the guys said, "have a good night.....well, a hot night," and started laughing. This was the same guy who spoke to us while we were waiting on our food and taunted us saying we were scared of them and didn't we want hot sauce...look at all the hot sauces, etc. I'm just wondering if they all go in the back and get high together and then come out and make fun of customers..
